DLA wait times Part 13

Looks like they’re getting through them quicker now the summer hols are over. Fingers crossed it continues

25th may scan date. Phoned Monday and said it’s still in a holding queue! Told to wait another 3 weeks for a decision 😭 I just hope she gets accepted after the school refused her ehcp as she’s only in reception. Even though I put on the forms for the send team to give her a ehcp, I’m gunna have to do a coc before I’ve even got accepted!

school Are not allowed to refuse ECHP based on age of child. You can request ECHP yourself through your Local Authority all the information should be on there website. Please don’t be disheartened if school is not supporting they tend to be not be on the right track in majority of cases, you have your child’s best interest at heart. Can I ask if your child has a diagnosis or what type of support she needs? Check out the IPSEA website for model letters and useful information.

I've had a £67.00 oddmpayment in my bank today sent off renewals 4 weeks ago but not due till Jan?

My renewal has gone through in 3 weeks super shocked!

I received a phone call this morning 9:24 from DWP confirming my daughter has been awarded MR. Scan date 24.05. However, it will be back dated from 23rd of June, as my daughters Type 1 Diabetes was diagnosed 23rd of March and she would have needed to have it for 3 months before applying.

Awarded until the day before her 17th birthday in 2038. Thank god! Glad to see the back of those forms.

a little advice for mums who are unsure on documentation send as much information as you have and as much as possible. I sent as much as I could, discharge letters, care plans and I got a paediatric nurse to fill out some information from her perspective on the form. The DM said my claim was a breeze and the easiest one he’s had as it made it easier to give a decision just based off of the evidence. He only got handed the claim 2 minutes before calling me.

Hi first time posting but been following a while. Scan date 23/05 . I called today after numerous cut offs and my daughter has finally been awarded on Monday. We never got any texts. So relieved for her . Good luck to all mummy's waiting xx

3 people on the Facebook chat was awarded today new claim there scan date was 11th June and the 27th June so there not going off scan dates. Mine is 20th May they said another 3 weeks today. It's really confusing.

That's amazing! Well done on the outcome and on the actual process. You put a lot of work into it which made it easier for the DM. I seriously have hope now as I sent a ton of information. 😍

My scan date is 19/05. I’ve given up trying to get through on the phone so I’m just waiting for a letter. Not feeling very optimistic at this point.

Lots of people calling and the. Being told 3 weeks and getting descion next day so fingers crossed us. I’m 24/5 called y day and said 3 weeks I’m hoping they just saying that but don’t want to keep calling xx

Does anyone know how long after receiving the text confirming DLA has been awarded that I'm likely to receive the letter or payment, whichever comes first! x

@Whitwoolady gosh that’s fast I sent my son’s renewal off back in July and not heard anything yet currant award ends in nov! X

Mine was scanned in July, renewal due in Oct and not heard either. My child desperately needs a WAV, it is at the point where getting him in the car is no longer safe, I know the waits for vehicles is long so it feels like we are soon going to be housebound

Hi everyone
i was successful with dla earlier this year, I have been advised to request an extra bedroom allowance on UC by my council. I requested it the first time and they said there was no such thing & then another person send me a ‘to do’ which was to request an extra bedroom allowance (currently get lha for 2 bed but applying for 3) due to care needs. I have submitted this but they said there is no specified amount of time for them to make a decision.
does anyone else have experience with this or have been through a similar situation?

I have same scan date as you. I called couple times. Just been told it’s with a decision maker.

makes me nervous…seems to have been with DM for ages 😭

I know I was super shocked aswell even the last that was dealing with my query couldn't quite believe it! They have changed it renewal date now though from Jan to September but extended it 4 yrs

Yes called again this morning, he said its still the same and it will be 3 weeks before I should contact again as that's when it will be with a decision maker, taking it to 21 weeks wait. Silly, it's all very confusing.
