DLA wait times Part 13

I see thread 12 is full. Is there a Part 13 already, or shall we make this it?

Hi I sent my form off and they received it on 25/08/23 I never received a letter or text to say they have it. I rang them yesterday and they said they has received it but its a 19 week wait from the day of receiving. Has anyone ever been given a time scale but they've managed to do it quicker than predicted?

When I've rang in he past its happened to me ..but from what I have seen I believe they are working on dates from 20/5 going forward ..but like I said it's the not knowing is horrid

Just some feed back. Scan date 1st of June. Waited 1 hour and 17 minutes before answering the phone. This was the 4th attempt after being cut off the first 3 times. (Called about 10.30ish) Same as others…waiting time is now 19 weeks with 2-3 weeks with DM. They have my application/form as I have only ever had 1 letter from them I was a little worried. Also managed to add my mobile to the application/form as I only put my home phone number. Lovely lady on the phone. Just have to wait it out but they are strictly going in date order. I’m 17 weeks next Thursday so I’m hoping I’ll know by then and the 19 weeks plus is just to help manage the calls.

My friend has applied for DLA for her child. Sent evidence . Had a letter and two texts confirming they are looking at it . She thinks she hasn’t filled the form in correctly . If she does get turned down can she reapply ?

Scan Date- 24.05

I just got off the phone with a lovely gentleman who gave a time frame from when my claim would be picked up by a DM, to when I would hear a decision. I am currently at 17 weeks and I was told it would be with a DM by the 02.10. The decision maker then has a 2 week time frame to make a decision. This would take me to the 16.10.

The gentleman was so helpful and indicated that texts are going out and I could hear a lot sooner and to be patient for a little bit longer, as I am near the end now.

Hopefully this gives some clarity to someone who has the same scan date, advice or help.

P.s. they are also not all done by scan date order it just depends how they have been piled.

Hi everyone, my scan date is 02/06 so just over the 15 weeks mark. This is a first application for us following a new acute diagnosis for our 13 year old son. I am so shocked to hear of everyone’s waiting times, it’s so anxiety provoking but I’m expecting at least another 4-6 weeks before we hear after reading all your posts. Hope everyone who is still waiting is bearing up okay x

The wait has been awful, but glad there is support like this for us mums with children who need that extra help. It gives us all peace of mind. Hopefully, the wait isn’t much longer for your family either and the decision is a positive one!

They said to me earlier could be up to another 3/4 weeks same scan date xxx

and now I’m seeing people 23/5 have been awarded so surely we should be sooner xx

I have been watching the Facebook thread and lots of people have recieved decisions for June already so I think it goes off where ever you are when the pile is put on a desk. Good luck my scan date is the 20th May and I was told to call back in 3 weeks so God knows.

Did they tell you through text and when called did they say was with descion maker super nervous now x

I called this morning the woman said at least another 3 weeks for a decision then received a text at 13.50 saying my son has been awarded x

Just shows a lot of the call handlers have no idea - shame really as would cause less stress if they were honest with things. I guess it does depend how much evidence you send and if they have to explore further x

Did you send lots evedince my daughter just been accepted for asd assessment and I sent the referral letters from the school and filled form in huge detail I’m so nervous xx

Worried now as I applied last year and was refused so left it and then thought it's not fair so re applied this time I sent the schools early interventions letter the police interventions letter and the letter to say she is on a waiting list for cahms, she is 13 and honestly I just cannot cope she is crazy and I know people say that but she really is driving me bonkers, I'm trying to get dla so I can get her into anger management or something, she has told me and my husband she will burn the house down whole were sleeping but will take the dogs out first. And yet she is also lovely. I don't know if I will get accepted but I know if they refuse me again I will just cry.

Hello, well done to those that have been awarded, the wait is painful and fingers crossed to those still waiting.

I received a letter saying they received my form on 25/5, is this my scan date? If so I’m nearly at 17 weeks? Don’t want to call and chase up if I’m wrong.

Yes. You're the same date as me. I'm hoping to have an answer by middle of next week judging by the scan dates this week. I think I'll give it till next Thursday (18 weeks) before calling for an update.

No because still waiting assessments so just names of teachers to contact

Thank you, that’s reassuring to know. I think I’ll give it until 18 weeks too, it’s horrible waiting so long. My son has a diagnosis of Autism, I’m worrying I’ve not provided enough information.
