I see thread 12 is full. Is there a Part 13 already, or shall we make this it?

Medium rate care
And lower rate mobility
Until she is 16 or 17

Congratulations. Happy for you

Our scan date is the 18/05. Just rang up, was on hold for 70 mins to be told it's now a 19 weeks wait and she couldn't tell me anything else. I'm hoping they make a decision by the weekend and my son gets granted it as his playschool need the 1-1 funding for him.

Mines the same date, I definitely spoke to someone different to you as they started saying 19 weeks but it was with a DM now . He then called me back to say that DM thought it could be by the end of Friday that they d sort it. So fingers crossed you ve got a similar situation and there's a chance it's this week.

I think it all depends who you get through to. Someone was told yesterday they have employed more staff and working weekends to work through the backlog. My 15 weeks is at the end of sept. So I will ring then and see what the deal is x

Katierebekah92 · 13/09/2023 17:34

This doesn't give me much hope 😞 scan date the 19/05. Hopefully we both here soon

1goodmummy · 13/09/2023 18:18

It was a woman I spoke to and it was like she couldn't be bothered to talk to me on the phone. She confirmed my phone number and that's about it.

almightyfroggie · 14/09/2023 08:30

Chels2020 · 14/09/2023 09:11

almightyfroggie · 14/09/2023 09:21

I'm 2/06, it's been such a long wait! I don't even know why I keep checking this thread and FB group daily... well, multiple times a day!

Wee are officially bonkers!
I'm double stressing as we have my daughter's ADOS (privately) on 3rd October and I was really hoping the back payment would help me with the cost... I will try and wait until Monday and call again I guess?

1990shopefulftm · 14/09/2023 09:29

Not dla related does anyone know what the ados 2 score system means my daughter got 14 am I right in thinking this is mild/moderate? Even though I asked they wouldn't tell me what this means aspergers, mild moderate severe level 123 they told me they don't measure it know but how are we best to support our children without fully knowing the severity anyway

My daughter behaved beautifully throughout her 25 minute! assessment the report is glowing this is not her usual behaviour she is obsessed with drs and nurses is the only reason I can think why I can't help but think this will go against us in her dla assessment although it states her communication us lacking enthusiasm or excitement and packed with jagon and delayed echolalia she is three we are up day and night, although speach is improving her behaviour is worse and attacks us daily I alway thought the attacks were communication based and due to frustrations, she is very demanding and impatient has no fear constantly on the go and quite dangerous that in the house outside is awfully dangerious none of this is highlighted in her assessment other than short statements of what I've said how can I gain evidence to prove this it would be so much easier if they to video evidence lol I don't want to fail her she need equipment I can't provide

I'm still waiting for DS's first paeds appointment to get him on the pathway, but my younger sister has autism and was diagnosed ten years ago they didn't use levels or classifications even then.
I believe a lot of assessors just say its x that they need support with but don't give a level as such in the UK. Asperger's isn't used anymore either as it was removed from the DSM V.
Is her behaviour like that in nursery or school if she attends one, perhaps you could get another professional to write something about it to back you up?

Pawtucketbrew · 14/09/2023 10:33

Scan date 17/5 so anxiously waiting and hoping it's our turn soon. I'm just getting so anxious about even being awarded anything but could really do with the money to pay for private therapy for de which is around £80 per session.

Just looking at the evidence I sent. In my application I focused on the sleep issues and OCD type behaviour around sleep routines (I don't think I've slept through the night for 10 years). This was backed up by family member statement who supports me with DD (am lone parent).

Looking back at her ASD assessment it definitely echos what I said in my application and mentions sleep problems. This is also echoed by a private psychological report that I included. GP is also aware of issues around bedtime and sleep routine so that don't know how often they do contact GP to verify but if they do there is back up there.

I guess my worry is that only I know how difficult things really are in terms of the violence, shouting, OCD type behaviour and general difficulties navigating life as a lot of this is masked in the outside world so it's very much my word when it comes to the paperwork.

She has since been accepted into CAMHs for behaviour therapy but apparently they aren't interested in seeing appointment letters.

Sorry long post but suddenly questioning whether we will even get anything.

What number comes up when you get a call from the DM?
