Mumof4amazingboys · 19/06/2023 13:56

Hi,, my scan date is 10th March, got a letter today apologising for delay, anyone with same date have any news or updates please? Thank you 😊

Piony · 19/06/2023 14:22

Lee33637 · 14/06/2023 13:47

Piony yes they stop altogether as will the carers allowance which I just explained to her it messes all the money up . She has though just rang back out of the blue saying she spoke with a manager and they its been put in a fast response claim so it will be done either today or tomorrow funny that

Oh how stressful. I hope they did turn it round for you that fast in the end.

Mammy0f4 · 19/06/2023 14:23

I rang up on Friday gone and they said it will be sent with a decision maker at 15 weeks which makes it this friday

Oh I do hope so 😊. I'll keep my fingers crossed for everyone 🤞🤞 good luck 👍

NDandMe · 19/06/2023 20:49

I rang today with a different question but checked the status and they said my application should be with a decision maker this week or next. Scan date is 8 March so I hope this week!! I'm planning to ring again on Friday.

ItsBritneyBitchhhh · 20/06/2023 04:22

Great news to hear that people are getting closer and closer. My scan date is 20th of March and I have one more piece of evidence that I’ll send off tomorrow so hopefully that helps my son’s case🤞

Autismum4 · 20/06/2023 09:23

@ItsBritneyBitchhhh do you send your evidence recorded ?
I have more evidence but scared to send in case I need to appeal, for an appeal I think you need brand new evidence to even appeal at all

ItsBritneyBitchhhh · 20/06/2023 09:51

@Autismum4 yeah I always send it recorded as my first ever claim didn’t arrive (I put it in the post box!)

I’m sure if you’re not happy with the decision or if you disagree then you can ask for a Mandatory Reconsideration. The claim gets looked at by another DM and I don’t believe you have to send off further evidence at this stage. I could be wrong as I’m hoping we won’t have to appeal!

DS has a rare genetic disorder and has weekly appointments. I’ve probably sent off about 50 pages of evidence!🫣 if you think it’ll help your DC’s case then I’d just send it anyway. Hopefully you won’t have to go through the appeal process at all. I understand why you’re thinking ahead though. It’s a tough one!

Autismum4 · 20/06/2023 10:45

Thank you so much. I guess to avoid it going to an appeal or Mr send the evidence now.
I can always get another piece of evidence because ds has soo many professionals in his life at the moment and they all agree his needs are so complex he will achieve dla. They all told me to go for it.
How are everyone's little ones in this heat?
My son struggles with sleep anyway and he isn't getting much he's napping 3 hours during the day time and 3 hours at night. I'm honestly shattered in bits

ItsBritneyBitchhhh · 20/06/2023 11:02

Does anyone have the FULL address of where to send additional evidence? The Freepost address can’t be recorded as there’s no postcode.

I don’t have the envelope with the full address on that allows you to send more evidence as I’ve already used it! Don’t want to take my chances with the postbox again haha. Thank you

Mummyof1sonxx · 20/06/2023 13:39

I'm on the phone again 40 minutes so far. Tried to get through yesterday but after 1 hour and 27 minutes I got cut off!! 😭 my scan date was middle of January and I've heard nothing. Although mine is a change of circumstances. I've been told they take longer but I really don't know 😔

IsThisIt2021 · 20/06/2023 14:26

Ours is a child’s renewal. Claim end date today. Renewal form returned in March. I called yesterday and after 57 minutes was told
it was with a DM. I’ve just received a call this afternoon asking a few questions and they said “I should hear shortly”. Why would they ask how long it takes to settle him on a night and whether he wakes up the full house? All this was put on the form.

Shellbel10 · 20/06/2023 16:59

I’d ring tomorrow they’ve probably made a decision

Mammy0f4 · 21/06/2023 11:05

Has anyone with scan date round the 10th heard anything yet

BoomSatsuma · 21/06/2023 12:18

Hey

Our wait is finally over.

Scan date: 8 March
Award date: 20 June

We phoned up to find out what we were awarded. We were awarded higher rate care (can't get mobility yet due to age). This will make such a difference. 😀

Autismum4 · 21/06/2023 12:49

@BoomSatsuma hi congratulations what age is your little one? My ds is going to be 2 in 6 weeks and hoping age won't matter when it's based on needs.... I have sent plenty of evidence from professionals working with him and epilepsy care plan

@Autismum4 He's just turned 3.

We actually didn't have a lot of evidence in terms of reports but he's on waiting list for lots of professionals. We only submitted a report from the health visiting team alongside the DLA form.

Fingers crossed for you. If you don't get what want always take it further.

Autismum4 · 21/06/2023 13:25

Thank you, his needs are so extreme and has the use of safety equipment day and night for his own wellbeing so if they refuse a child with such needs then I'd be concerned the dm cannot read properly

Pk12 · 21/06/2023 13:53

Hi everyone my little one was awarded middle rate care, I recieved a text this morning scan date was 9th March but awarded from 15th March if this helps anyone.
I don't know how this will affect universal credit though

That's great news congratulations 🎊

I'm pretty sure you get the disability element added on for universal credit. So your universal credit should increase Contact them they should be able to advise you what to do x

ItsBritneyBitchhhh · 21/06/2023 15:37

Amazing!! Congratulations to those that have been awarded, great news🥂
