As anyone actually been awarded these last few days

Hiya guys a question for anyone that’s been awarded. I informed UC and this assessment period I have been given the child disability element also £185 carers which I didn’t apply for. But the carers element hasn’t been backdated to january 🤯 has anyone else had this issue and how long did it take to rectify

I also have a question! My claim for DS is mainly based around behaviours that has triggered referrals for adhd and autism assessments. I've read that DLA isn't often awarded for adhd, is that true? School is massively struggling to keep him safe at this point, I was hoping an award would allow us to pay for play therapy and other support. Maybe my hopes are up for no good reason?

Just thought I'd reply as I was awarded the end of April for my daughter. She was diagnosed with ADHD last year (she's 9). MRC and lrm. There are many things she can't do that other children her age can, I think that's really what they look for, not necessarily a diagnosis as long as you have the evidence and if the school has written something for you that will really help. It feels horrible putting everything they can't do when you want to put all the good things too. I spent 13 weeks thinking yes she should get it, then the next day I don't think she will. So don't give up hope. X

been watching this thread for a while now my scan date is 17/2 anyone around this date heard anything yet? I’ve had a couple of letters and text but still waiting x

@Kenny312 my scan date is 16/02 as of last Wednesday wasn't with a dm yet and said up to 15 weeks so it's becoming a bit frustrating hope you hear something soon! @Nicole12345 not heard anything yet was hoping to wake up to a message today but nope! Fingers crossed we all hear something back this week I'm starting to get nervous that's for sure! Xx

Thank you … feel like we have been waiting so long , seems to have slowed down a bit I saw someone get awarded with 14/2 scan date early last week and thought it may have been the end of the week …. Thank you will update if I get through to them 🤦‍♀️

I’m scan date 1/3, so I really need to find a new hobby for a while.

@Kenny312 yeah seems to be dragging on longer now than what most people have waited. As it seemed most was done by 13 weeks to the dot. yeah keep us updated. I may call today too.

@Kenny312 it's very frustrating to see other people near our dates be accepted but I've been told another 2 weeks they don't have a clue on the phone bless them! @Nicole12345 yeah exactly I sit on the phone for a hour and half to be told not with a dm within seconds I'm hoping for a text soon saying she's approved!! I'll keep you both updated let me know if either of you get through xx

Soooo 45 mins on hold got through to a lovely guy , my daughters has been allocated to a DM today and if I don’t hear by next Monday to call back … finally feel like we are near the end 😊
