Called up today and the wait gets pushed back further and further has anyone been awarded recently

forms scanned 20/12 still waiting for a decision.. I really want to call and see if it’s with a DM yet but I hate feeling like I’m bothering them 😞😞 I last called Thursday and they said not with DM just yet …

@AnxietyMumma is yours a renewal?? If so, what date does it end?

My renewal is due to end next Tuesday and don't know whether to call and chase today?

Ladies who have filled out renewals it's my first time doing a renewal not due to end untill July. Question 34 is this for mobility or for care needs

@Hayhoarematthews I think it for all needs I wrote my son needs support with all care needs all of the time and it constant. As he needs the same level of care all of the time..
does that make sense?

I did think itnwas for that but was unsure because it was by the mobility part thank you

From what I've seen renewals are being done close to end date. Some actually on the day

What is the time frame for a renewal rather than a new claim, I mean how long before it runs out are you advised to do it? My son’s award runs out in December but I rang and told them he should be on a higher rate and they sent the forms out, would this be treated as a new claim or a renewal does anyone know?

@Patientlywaitingx2 im calling now, seeing you called twice in one day gave me courage 😂 I always get so anxious about calling up I don’t know why as we have the right to check on the progress right?? Or am I just telling myself that to make me feel better haha

I just said I I rang this morning and the phone got cut off mid call. I had a feeling it would be today so I I rang back up. Nobody has ever been funny with me or moaned. I just say I'm calling to see if my son's claim has gone to a decision maker yet. X

@Patientlywaitingx2 I’m glad yours has gone to a DM, it’s such a long nerve wrecking wait isn’t it!! I’m on hold now I’ll probably be here a while, but I’m keeping my fingers crossed 🤞🏼

9am I rang and they answered it within 2 mins was waiting 36 mins then xx

Scan date 05/01 for my sons claim

Does anyone know if there's a correlation between receiving the "we are still looking at your child's claim" text message and the claim going to a DM?

I know I probably still have a good few weeks to wait!

Yes @Patientlywaitingx2 !!!! I'm So glad yours is now with the DM. I tried calling back earlier but the bloke I spoke to told me I called wrong department for an update (I didnt). So I didn't bother again. Will call 9am tomorrow

@ASDMummy78 I'm so glad you've got your sons award now!! What evidence did you send in? I'm going into mega panic it will be a decline after being the 1% form that had to go higher to be signed off

@AnxietyMumma i sent in a supporting letter from our home start volunteer, a supporting letter from our family support practitioner, audiology report, ASQ questionnaire and speech and language referral. I hope you hear soon! Xx

@ASDMummy78 ah a fair amount then. I think I've overloaded them with info 🤣. ASD and ADHD waiting list letters, draft EHCP. Blue badge report as it was from an independent assessor. OT acceptance letter. Behavioural plan, care plan both from school and a covering letter that I wrote x

My scan date is 21/12 looks like it could be worth giving them a ring tomorrow? I really don't know if it will be accepted but fingers crossed x

Reading some of the responses. I think by ringing them you speed the process up to a DM. They really do sound like they are snowed under. If i dont hear by end of next - week 13 I will ring for an update. The waiting is a killer. Even more than filling the form! Lol.

I'm week 13 Friday I think scan date 23/12 i put allot of info on the form with how she is at home etc she doesn't sleep , speech and language report school wrote in too , referral letters , a questionnaire that the school filled out and myself . and her appointment just come through to see a mental health nurse , she's not that bad in school she's disruptive and can be distracted easily also , I don't get why she is different at home it's been so so hard lately , I struggle to handle situations because I feel I make them worse when I tell her off for things (it does make her react more and make things worse ) she's been saying she wants to kill herself and it's heartbreaking to hear I just don't no what to do anymore it's just so hard x
