Called up today and the wait gets pushed back further and further has anyone been awarded recently

I just received the text saying they’ve decided my son qualifies for DLA not sure what rate he’s got though. Scan date was 16/12 so took 13 weeks good luck to every one still waiting. The only evidence I sent was his CAMHS Referral letters and his SEN Plan and didn’t get school or anyone to write supporting evidence so didn’t send much at all I hope this helps

My sons award runs out on Monday and I've still heard nothing.
Carers allowance will stop on Monday too.
I'm getting anxious as I use that to pay for my son's transport to medical appointments.

But if you sent the forms off within 6 weeks you could get backdated from when you applied (rang up for the forms) x

@UB40andaglassofwine i didn’t hear a thing about mine either, I rang up on the day my old award ended, it had been renewed on Saturday 11th only 3 days before. Get on the phone first thing Monday morning to them

Thank you! Such a relief it’s such an anxious wait. I rang up on Monday and it wasn’t with a DM yet so must have gone in the week and didn’t take long to decide surprised how quick I heard since Monday!

@DPMW89 im glad, it’s nerve wracking and horrible when you have been waiting for so long for it to happen.

I completed filling in my son's form last night I'm sending it registered Monday my daughters is already there scan date 6/2 but these are new claims not renewal I don't know much about the process do renewal and new all go to the same place through the same process could that be the answer to the time scale as renewal claims are to be dealt with first as they have an end date I'm on week 7 with my daughters so I know there is a good 6-8 weeks before I'll hear anything but when they say upto 12 weeks on the intial letter they send do they mean 12 weeks to get a decision or 12 weeks before it's looked at as the time scale was 14 and a half weeks from the 6/2 so mid may before it's looked at then I'll have it all again when I send my son's off it's a long process for families and made even worse by the cost of living crisis waiting to be told yay or nay for monies that you know and health professionals have told you your child is entitled to it's all in the hands of someone that's never met your child I filled the form in from my perspective as a parent so the DM gets an insight into who my children are and what our daily lives are plus evidence from assessments fingers crossed x

My renewal runs out on 28th March. I called Friday and it still wasn't with a DM😞

@CheesePlease33 same here!!! Told me it will most probably get done the day before.. my anxiety is getting so bad.. it’s not fair
to leave it so close yet when they send them they say send back ASAP

@Boymom10 it's awful isn't it ! It's the not knowing that raises my anxiety. Will call Wednesday for an update and will keep you updated

I'm going to ring on Monday to see if my son son has been awarded or not after the DM call. @Patientlywaitingx2 I hope you get told yours is with DM on monday

Currently in work 🥺

I've got work tonight. 10pm-6am. Already running on 6 hours broken sleep in the last 48 hours 🙃 I then sleep when my children are at school but phone stays on loud incase I need to pick my eldest up early. So basically I won't sleep til Tuesday evening now 🤣🤣🤣

I’m usually at work all day but managed to get it swapped, hope your all having a good day x

I have a Fitbit and it recorded 2 hours sleep last night. Wish I could send the print outs in to the dm to show we get no sleep here x

@126t it's hard going isn't it. I'm really considering quitting my job after 15 years x

I did leave my job to look after my child and supervise him full time so he stays safe and I had cope with demands of admin and appointments. @AnxietyMumma it gets hard though because you miss interacting with colleagues. Easier as you have time and brain to focus on them but balance important. At the time it was best decision I made. I am on week 12 this week for my Dla claim....
