Hi, I’ve been watching this thread for a little while now, my scan date is 21/01.. my daughters school is only just now agreeing that she should be put on to a my plan where as before they was not interested in doing one. Do I need to inform dla that I’m now waiting for a my plan as when I done the form I said she wasn’t on anything.
im new to all of this so don’t have a clue 😅
I have been fighting for many years after being fobbed of with nonsense:
she is suspected ASD and PDA just waiting for a diagnosis. school have been seeing the behaviours at school the last 2 years and can see they are gradually getting worse. School life was never really impacted as she is generally so smart. But the last year has been a major struggle to get her to school.

I had two more bits of evidence to send after sending off my sons initial claim and they got it and added it on really quick. For me it was worth it as my sons been awarded now but mine was similar to yours so I defo would

Lodol · 11/04/2023 12:12

@Leigh3 i have just been on the phone and been advised it’s taking about 14 weeks so you should still have time to post it too :)

Leigh3 · 11/04/2023 12:13

Amazing I will ring them! The school and doctors have been useless for years not been willing to listen to me even when her behaviours have been escalating. But for the last 2 years things at school have been changing for her, but only got told this in the last parents evening that they use mood cards with her, she’s always in thrive so isn’t learning and is intimidating towards class mates, they also have witnessed how long it takes her to get dressed and that she doesn’t like getting dressed, she has arrived to school on many occasions since I put in for the claim in her pjs no socks no shoes kicking and screaming 😩 fingers crossed we hear something soon!

Leigh3 · 11/04/2023 12:16

Thankyou, im not sure if I will have the my plan in time as the kids are on half term, so it will be put in place when they go back to school 🙃

Alex900 · 11/04/2023 13:44

Try calling them now, I’m currently listening to the tune they play while waiting x

Mum2two7 · 11/04/2023 13:57

Tried calling today was on hold for 55 minutes gave up will try again tomorrow
Congratulations to those who got their awards.

Alex900 · 11/04/2023 14:03

I’m very much in the same boat my boy is going 12 been picked up on just as he has gone to secondary school. I always believed as they got older things got easier but nothing is easy with him it’s harder now than ever before. I had lettered from education safeguard about his attendance as I couldn’t get him to go to school due to melt downs. He dosnt sleep at night time, he’s up and down, when he eventually crashes and burns he tends to wet the bed. He won’t leave the house un attended, he has to be supervised showering as he dosnt wash, he can’t differentiate between shampoo and body wash. He has to be supervised when getting dressed as he won’t change underwear or clothes if they arnt removed from his room. He can’t make his own sandwich or cereal, he will only eat certain foods and that’s becoming more difficult because some have changed packaging he won’t touch them. I feel your pain I really do. It’s hard work I’m awaiting CAMHS for an assessment for ADHD and AUTISM. I personally would appeal it although this is my first time applying for dla x

Every four weeks on a Wednesday I don't think they give exact dates it's upto you to figure it out from the first payment you get but I don't know if thats the backdated payment or the first payment after the backdated I'm still waiting for a decision so not 100% sure but it's deffo every four weeks on a Wednesday

chuggins · 11/04/2023 15:51

@Daisymum18
Thankyou. He's told me first payment 9th may which is a Tuesday so I'm confused

Snickerdoodles19 · 11/04/2023 15:59

I spoke to someone I am at 11weeks on Friday the man said it could be any time now but averaging 13 week so I’m looking at another two weeks at a push

Oh thankyou so it's normal then. I did hear on the calls to them the automated voice saying you'll be paid every 4 weeks on a Wednesday so when he said 9th may knowing that was a Tuesday I was a bit confused

Daisymum18 · 11/04/2023 16:09

Ah I'm currently at 10weeks yesterday so fingers crossed not far behind you I was told mid may a couple of weeks ago but to hear could only be a another 3-4 weeks as only a few days behind you is quite reassuring

JL1990 · 11/04/2023 16:47
