@Gp123456 i think it will be the remaining payment left on the old award, when is your renewal up?

Gp123456 · 11/04/2023 09:17

@Snickerdoodles19 it ended today so must be a 3 week payment as my next payment would of been next tuesday

Snickerdoodles19 · 11/04/2023 09:21

@Gp123456 yeah I definitely think you should give them a call this morning, mine got renewed 3 days before it ended but they worked it as it was still the end of the award so they paid the remaining amount then my new payments started 4 weeks from that date.

Gp123456 · 11/04/2023 09:25

@Snickerdoodles19 yeah im going to give them a call i hate not knowing

Sammy0892 · 11/04/2023 09:43

So I've just called and been awarded! Scan date 12/01/23. Apparently I was awarded Thursday. Really unsure what to do though, she has been awarded lrc lrm however I believe she is entitled to at least mrc. Really not sure on whether to dispute, I've heard of people getting no award after disputing, but on the same note I know she's entitled. Any advice?

Gp123456 · 11/04/2023 09:45

@Snickerdoodles19 mine was awarded on the 8th same rate but till 2028 :)

Congratulations!
Im not sure regarding an appeal, did you put day and night care needs?
ive heard it depends on the amount of care given e.g personal hygiene, toileting, how many times waking throughout the night

On the 8th so they where working over the bank holiday I'm currently on week 10 as of yesterday for my daughters claim but it's a new claim so don't know if I should call as I was told mid may before a DM would get it but then I got the letter saying they have my son's claim SD 29/3 they sent that out to me on 31st so don't know if it means things are moving a little quicker now as took over two weeks to get the we've got your claim letter for my daughter I don't know what to do

Sammy0892 · 11/04/2023 09:59

Thank you! Yes I did put all that down. Every night she wakes once or twice through the night and getting her back to bed is an absolute nightmare, I can be up for hours. She doesn't wipe herself when using the toilet and needs constant reminding, doesn't shower or bath I literally have to beg her, problem is she's getting older and she's started getting B.O Washing her hair is a whole other story. She constantly needs supervision even to brush her teeth. And as she's getting older she seems to be getting worse. She's diagnosed ADHD and is having an assent done in June for autism. its really annoying as she was diagnosed over a year ago and around 3 months ago a lady from the adhd team said she scored through the roof for autism but no-one looked into it🙄 I just feel with the constant care and supervision this isn't of a typical nearly 10 year old. So frustrating. Thanks for your reply BTW!

Does anyone know if renewals are generally being awarded before the current one expires? I had a letter to say renewal forms were received on 19/1 and I think the current claim ends this month (maybe next)

Snickerdoodles19 · 11/04/2023 10:01

@Gp123456 fantastic news! ☺️☺️

They’re going right up to the last moment with renewals apparently. Some are saying new claims are taking up to 20 weeks now.

WouldJudasLeaveIt · 11/04/2023 10:28

I’d do it if you think she’s in need of a higher award Sammy0892, it’s horrible having to fight plus the waiting time.

chuggins · 11/04/2023 11:10

Just to let you all know
I rang Thursday my sons claim was not with a dm. I've rang today and he's been award mrc. I actually cried on the phone. It was awarded Friday as some people were doing overtime to clear some backlog. Mine was awarded exactly 12 weeks from scan date. Good luck everyone.

megan345 · 11/04/2023 11:14

@chuggins amazing news! when was your scan date? its my little ones 1st birthday friday so trying to wait till after then to call😂x

You would have thought it would be at least MRC so I agree with you on that one. My daughter had meningitis at 6 weeks old, has only now been referred to a paediatrician for potential brain damage but scores for ADD, ADHD and Autism so awaiting a diagnosis it takes so long and seems to depend who you see as to what they say. My school senco ended up referring her due to concerns at school the GP doesn’t have much involvement. Did they say why they only issues lrc?

Sammy0892 · 11/04/2023 11:49

I'm definitely going to now! Simply on the fact that she needs supervision during the night should mean she should recieve mrc. Appeal here we come. How exhausting.

Lodol · 11/04/2023 11:50

Bless you, good luck let us know how you get on! Is it a wait for appeals?

Leigh3 · 11/04/2023 11:54

Hi, I’ve been watching this thread for a little while now, my scan date is 21/01.. my daughters school is only just now agreeing that she should be put on to a my plan where as before they was not interested in doing one. Do I need to inform dla that I’m now waiting for a my plan as when I done the form I said she wasn’t on anything.
im new to all of this so don’t have a clue 😅
I have been fighting for many years after being fobbed of with nonsense:
she is suspected ASD and PDA just waiting for a diagnosis. school have been seeing the behaviours at school the last 2 years and can see they are gradually getting worse. School life was never really impacted as she is generally so smart. But the last year has been a major struggle to get her to school.

Sammy0892 · 11/04/2023 11:54

@Lodol oh I'm sorry to hear that. Absolutely heartbreaking. I haven't asked for a statement of reasons. I was just happy I had a decision. Felt like my brain wasn't functioning. It wasn't till after the call I was like wait what. So mentally draining

Lodol · 11/04/2023 12:02

It is, I wonder how they work the criteria out there must be a check list or something they go from, my scan date is 19/01 so fingers crossed I hear something soon

Lodol · 11/04/2023 12:04

@Leigh3 yeah I would ring them to tell them they can add a note on, they just said to me to submit any evidence if I could buy that was about something else
