Hi x can someone help please x
I ordered the forms which I got but they aren't the same as before as I've got another 7 year old son with dla and asd

This time there is less room to explain why they need care
Why is this ? How can they decide when most children need help anyway
I want to express why
Will they read my additional supporting notes or just go off evidence and my times for how long things take
Please help x I don't want it to be rejected

WouldJudasLeaveIt · 04/04/2023 13:47

You can write additional notes on paper Autismum4, just put your child’s date of birth and name on the top of each sheet of paper, just in case they get separated from the forms.

Hiya I sent the form and x2 separate letters for updates during. However I phoned today as my daughter and I are going to see the neurodevelopment behaviour support team at a drop in clinic and they requested evidence which I don’t have, they advised that the information I gave may not be taken into consideration without supporting evidence but I did give the telephone number in case they wish to contact them but it seems the decision maker doesn’t usually contact the people given is that right?
also advised goes to DM about 13/14 weeks now 😊
scan date 19/01

Mumtodiabetic · 04/04/2023 14:43

@Mumofthree1987 congrats on ur claim hopefully not longer left for my sons claim scan date 9/1 x

AnxietyMumma · 04/04/2023 16:23

Guys don't forget to ask for the cold weather payments if they were given when you were waiting on your claim. I've got 2 to come. (It doesn't get that cold in the south weat 🤣) You do need to get the DLA backdate confirmation first. That's what they wrote to me beforehand

@Brown2010 any news today?

Brown2010 · 04/04/2023 16:37

@AnxietyMumma i rang this morning still with dm .. it’s been with the dm a week tomorrow 😫 x

AnxietyMumma · 04/04/2023 16:47

@Brown2010 have they said whether the DM is on holiday or off sick? Surely they make the decision when they pick up the claim. Crazy

Brown2010 · 04/04/2023 16:55

@AnxietyMumma he said the dm is already in and working on claims so hopefully get it done today or tomorrow 🤷🏻‍♀️ Xx

tbxx · 04/04/2023 18:10

The man from UC just finally called back and i explained ive already had a disability element and carers element payment and id like them both backdated to the date my son was awarded, he said he will sort it in the morning and call me in the afternoon.. Does anyone know would it still need to go to a DM or would he just sort it xx

Brown2010 · 05/04/2023 09:17

@Snickerdoodles19 @AnxietyMumma @Boymom10 I got awarded the same rates for another two years 🥳🥳 .. I’ve been on the phone to cares and they have got to sort my claim out again as it closed before decision was made 🤯 .. thanks guys for all your support xx

Mumtodiabetic · 05/04/2023 09:24

@Brown2010 finally they sorted it for u so happy I’ve been checking daily to see if u finally get ur award xxx

Brown2010 · 05/04/2023 09:30

@Mumtodiabetic ah bless you thank you! .. it’s been so stressful and to think got to do it all again in two year 😅 it comes around quickly x

Mumtodiabetic · 05/04/2023 09:36

@Brown2010 this is my first claim for my son so haven’t ever had to do it before didn’t realise the wait is so long especially for renewals etc. I’m hoping my son gets awarded longer than 2 years tbh. The forms are so long 🙄

Brown2010 · 05/04/2023 09:47

@Mumtodiabetic this is my first renewal, 2 years seems to be most popular but I have seen a few who have been awarded longer .. I did hope for longer as my sons 16 in 2026 n then ide of got out of re doing all of this 🙈😅 .. how long have you been waiting so far? Hopefully not much longer now xx

Boymom10 · 05/04/2023 09:54

@Brown2010 awww I’m so happy for you!!!!!!! I have been checking everyday to see. Hopefully your carers will be sorted asap xx

Mumtodiabetic · 05/04/2023 09:54

@Brown2010 aw yeah would have been easier if they would have awarded u until his 16th birthday. My scan date is 9/1/23 so just over 12 weeks I know people have waited a lot longer lol. My son is 5 and diagnosed type 1 diabetic last October x

Brown2010 · 05/04/2023 10:14

@Boymom10 thank you 😊 xx
@Mumtodiabetic fingerscrossed for you It shouldn’t be to much longer! 🥰🤞🏻 xx

MumtotypeoneD1abetic · 05/04/2023 13:33

Just an update, called to see if any change and the lovely lady said I should have a decision no later than mid April. Scan date is 12.01 🤞🏽

Ive seen some posts on FB people are being awarded from beginning of Jan so hopefully not to much longer to wait. Hope everyone waiting gets the award they deserve.

AnxietyMumma · 05/04/2023 13:51

@Brown2010 yay!!! I'm So happy for you and your child. Sorted before the easter break as well thankfully x

Do you know what the Facebook group is called so I can join? Thanks!

megan345 · 05/04/2023 15:49

@chuggins i'm in 'dla for children, advice and support' on facebook! its a good informative group and helps to see where roughly we are on scan dates, although not all that accurate as doesn't seem to be in date order x

Haven’t written for a while, my son was awarded hrc just under 3 weeks a go. Told universal credit immediately and asked for disabled and carers element to be backdated and was told it was sent off to be reviewed. Well 2+ weeks later and we are still waiting. We had both elements added to our last payment so that’s no issue, but just wondering how long people waited to hear about the backpay?

WouldJudasLeaveIt · 05/04/2023 18:23

On the Facebook page the times are varying L0ts, from days to months.
