Hey everyone! been following this thread for a couple days as have been trying to estimate how long we have left😂 i rang for forms 04/01 and sent them off 13/01, i got a letter to say they received my claim and a letter to send off my childs birth certificate which came back to us about 3 and 1/2 weeks ago, i misplaced the letter though that said when our scan date was so just wondering how long it roughly is if you sent your letter with the freepost envelope?

my sons is a new claim as well, and he’s 11 months old! he’s got a genetic deletion that causes severe low muscle tone, epilepsy etc! i didn’t get to send off much evidence as we are still being referred for services since moving cities. but did send the geneticists letter, prescription letter and some other documents about his epilepsy.

Hope we hear back sometime soon! and would love to chat with you all😊

Hope you don't mind me asking hit how come your had to send birth certificate? I didn't send may sons but wasn't asked

megan345 · 29/03/2023 19:10

@chuggins I'm not sure really, they just asked for a birth certificate, it had to be the original one which was scary to send in the post but they sent it back, i thought with them sending it back that maybe our claim was being looked at but nothing yet!x

Ah right ok! Did they request the birth certificate after youd sent in the completed form or did you have to send it with the form?
I'm nearly on week 11 and sick of this very anxious wait 😬

megan345 · 29/03/2023 20:27

@chuggins yeah they did, i sent the form, and then 4 weeks later they asked for a birth certificate x

Snickerdoodles19 · 29/03/2023 21:19

Mumtodiabetic · 30/03/2023 07:57

Brown2010 · 30/03/2023 08:50

@Snickerdoodles19 nope I’m going to ring again this morning .. my god If I get declined after the morning I’ve had then im guna have a mental breakdown I think .. my son absolutely refused to go to school this morning I enddd up ringing the school and cried to the senco 😫 his 13 and bigger than me so I can’t physically pick him up and take him 😫 x

WouldJudasLeaveIt · 30/03/2023 08:51

Has anyone here done a change of circumstances rather than a renewal or a new claim? Just wondering if the forms actually state they’re a CoC or if they look like the regular forms.

Snickerdoodles19 · 30/03/2023 08:53

@Brown2010 aww my way that’s awful for you, yes most definitely get on the phone to them and see what happens x

MummyH2022 · 30/03/2023 09:23

@Brown2010 it's so hard as they get older. Hope your ok and get a positive answer soon. We're still waiting, 29/12. Hopefully we get sorted soon! 🤞

Brown2010 · 30/03/2023 09:34

@Snickerdoodles19 @MummyH2022 got through not even with dm yet 😫 x

Snickerdoodles19 · 30/03/2023 09:54

@Brown2010 absolutely ridiculous I feel for you, is it tomorrow the end date? X

WouldJudasLeaveIt · 30/03/2023 10:31

Well I just rang them and got through after 50 minutes, the CoC forms are different 🤦🏼‍♀️
The advisor told me they would be treated as a CoC though, and that they’ve received my forms and the EHCP I sent off last week 🙏

Brown2010 · 30/03/2023 11:29

@Snickerdoodles19 yep tomorrow it ends 😭 xx

tbxx · 30/03/2023 12:17

Hi does anyone know about the child disability element on UC, does it get back dated or anything x

WouldJudasLeaveIt · 30/03/2023 12:38

Yes, you have to write in your journal and ask them to backdate it to the date DLA gave the award.

AnxietyMumma · 30/03/2023 14:46

Weird one. DLA awarded 24th March. Backdated to 20th December 2022 as the forms were back date due to Royal mail strikes. But I contacted UC on my journal and gave the wrong date so put another comment in. They said they have to go off of the government website and it will be from 11th November 2022. How's that possible?!

tbxx · 30/03/2023 15:53

Brown2010 · 31/03/2023 08:34

@Snickerdoodles19 i shall ring at some point today but because my end date is today I didn’t receive my final payment like you did 🤯

Snickerdoodles19 · 31/03/2023 08:35

@Brown2010 have you had a payment this month? Xx

Brown2010 · 31/03/2023 08:39

@Snickerdoodles19 my last payment was 7th March I usually get it every four weeks so due it on the 4th april (Tuesday)but I thought you guys got it early on your end date? X

Snickerdoodles19 · 31/03/2023 08:46

@Brown2010 yeah I got it a week early as it was the end of the claim, I’d deffo ring them first thing to see what’s happening as you should have got the remaining payment xx

MummyH2022 · 31/03/2023 09:13

Had backdated payment this morning, scan date 29/12 - middle rate care by the looks of it x

Daisymum18 · 31/03/2023 09:36

Good morning
So received a letter from dla this morning dated 26th march apologizing that they have not given a decision yet and will deal with claim as quickly as they can they've had my daughters claim since 6/2 so on week 8 at the moment from your experience how long after the sorry letter do you typically get a decision?

Lodol · 31/03/2023 09:47

Hiya
im on week 10, I got a text this week which said the same and was advised it’s about a 14 week wait at the moment
although people seem to be receiving a decision earlier 😊
