Thought it was time for a new thread :)

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Annoyingnamechangerperson · 18/02/2023 21:25

Hi I'm a Newby to the thread but these thread have me worried a little. My sons DLA claim is due to be re assessed in December.
If I fill out and send the form as soon as I get it and I don't get a decision back in time does DLA just stop then on that date? As with most people on this thread this is a lifeline for us.

If it really is up to 17 weeks, I’m waiting until at least mid April!!! 😩😩😩

Niknak987 · 18/02/2023 21:48

28th nov here. Been a long wait but near the end i hope 🤞

Symmz · 18/02/2023 21:59

I applied through my local authority. Provide evidence of anything you have that demonstrates your child needs the badge because of mobility / care needs. My son is 12 and lacks awareness so it’s dangerous for him to travel independently. He also has a lot of anxiety in crowds or public transport.

Symmz · 18/02/2023 22:03

December 2022 or 2023?

Annoyingnamechangerperson · 18/02/2023 22:30

2023 I know I'm thinking massively in the future here but I've been keeping an eye on these threads since last spring and it doesn't seem like a problem that will end soon.

Maz331 · 19/02/2023 00:47

Hay my scan date was 9th of November I was told Friday it's with a DM that's 14 weeks now

Judesmommy34 · 19/02/2023 06:43

Following new thread, 22/11 here, fingers crossed its not much longer 🙏

harjinder01 · 19/02/2023 07:15

lawraahh32 · 19/02/2023 08:46

Mine is 24/11, will be 13 weeks on Thursday, realistically I’m thinking I’ll hear in about 2 weeks. Fingers crossed to everyone waiting :)

Shellbel10 · 19/02/2023 10:18

Hi does anyone know once school has referred to see a paediatrician how long it takes roughly. I know all areas will be difference due to case loads but would just like to know a rough estimate

WreckTangled · 19/02/2023 10:37

I don’t think anyone could say as it really does depend where you are. Also is it the hospital paeds team or the community (child development centre) one? Our local paeds is around three months but the cdc is two years.

Shellbel10 · 19/02/2023 12:48

I think it is the community team. 2 years is an awfully long time. It seems to take so long to get anywhere

WreckTangled · 19/02/2023 13:10

It is. That’s why so many people go privately if they’re looking for a diagnosis. It shouldn’t be that way though.

tourettesadhdmum · 19/02/2023 13:37

@WreckTangled ours is the same length of time as you, now we have seen both, our follow ups are 6 monthly for the psychiatrist but almost yearly for the community paediatrician :( we have a diagnosis for tourettes (done by psychiatrist) still waiting since last september for her adhd/autism assessment with community paediatrician which will be hopefully done at her appointment in july this year 🤞🏽 x

VickieC86 · 19/02/2023 13:42

If I’ve not heard anything by Friday I’m going to call them as it will be 14wks

Logzy1 · 19/02/2023 21:48

My scanning date is 21/12
long wait ahead of me recently recieved a letter saying sorry they havnt got a decision yet they will be in touch
abit worried now

Leannepap · 19/02/2023 21:51

No need to worry about that letter. It’s just a standard letter everyone gets. I’ve had 2 and a text. Still waiting a decision scan date 17/11. Xx

VickieC86 · 19/02/2023 22:21

Leannepap

xxnikki · 19/02/2023 22:29

Im the 22/12 and i got 2nd letter saying that yesterday x

exampleeleven · 19/02/2023 22:33

Does anyone know how long renewals are taking currently?

Logzy1 · 19/02/2023 22:47

Hopefully the wait isn’t too long for us especially every 1 in November good luck

Sunflower0701 · 20/02/2023 00:17

Scan date 28/11. New claim, DS is 4 and has a ASD diagnosis, has some additional care needs. I'm not feeling very hopeful of a positive outcome. Best of luck to those waiting for a decision.

Justyouwaitandseeagain · 20/02/2023 00:19

Hi everyone, I've been following for a couple of threads but first time posting. We have a scan date of 28/11 so hoping we hear something soon, but conscious it might not come till March 🙏
