Hi all!
Can I just ask is the scan date the date that it says on the letter confirming the paperwork was recieved? If yes then my date is 4/11 if anyone with a similar date 💕 good luck to everyone! X

Scanner20 · 23/01/2023 15:07

@Befo yes I think that's right. My date is the 9/11 so a few days after you.

I just rang. Scan date 20/10 for a renewal and the lady told me it was being looked at and should hear any day now. But definitely before the renewal date of 21st February!

CharlotteSL20 · 23/01/2023 16:15

hi everyone, just wanted to give a little update in regards to renewals as I know people also look for that information.
it really does look like currently renewals are being looked at when a current award is due to end, regardless of when paperwork is sent in! I’ve seen mums who have sent it in months before its due to end and receive an outcome just in time for the new award. My paperwork was received on the 16th Jan (award ended on the 17th) and I got a phone call today to confirm a few details and I was told by the dm that she was re awarding (+ increased mobility) so in total 1 week
so for those who have been waiting for renewal information, do not stress, by the way they are doing it, it should be reviewed in time ☺️

Squishy1911 · 23/01/2023 16:22

@CharlotteSL20 yeah I’m guessing so my current award ends 4/2 I phoned last Wednesday and it was with a dm so I’m hoping I hear this week.

jesskay · 23/01/2023 16:35

Hi All, Just thought I would jump on. My scan date was 19/10 and mine is still with a decision maker. it went there on Thursday. I have called today to add that we have applied for an EHCP for my son. He currently has a Senone plan in school, however the school are not good what so ever. I have just found out today from the Paediatrician nurse that the school canceler her appointment on Friday due to my son being in a long assembly!!!!!! Livid. Any how he is diagnosed with ADHD and currently being assessed for ASD. A lot of sensory issues etc..... He doesn't sleep at all, even being on the sleeping tablet for kids, he is up every hour. He is on medication for his ADHD but I'm guessing this will be increased asap as its not working. I have detailed what its like from day to night in my house. I have also sent over the latest letter from his Paediatrician explaining how he is struggling etc. I am not holing much hope that my son will be awarded as I dont feel its enough. Please somewon please give me some positive stories here xx

jesskay · 23/01/2023 16:48

Sorry just to add, he will not get dressed, he will not do buttons up or zips. Socks have to be a certain material or he will not wear them. He does not eat with a knife and fork. Will only eat brown foods. He has to constantly be reminded to wash and wipe himself when he has been to the toilet. He will not do that I have to do that. He has no scene of danger and would run across a road, no scene of danger or anything. I am hoping that there are some positive stories on here

Mummalouxx · 23/01/2023 16:53

Heya mummas, my claim was scanned 15th nov, revived a letter saying sorry it’s taking so long at 8 weeks but today I received a text saying we are still looking at your dla claim, when a decision is made we will contact you? Has anyone else had this? I get dla for my other son and didn’t get that text so I’m a bit worried?

Sherie88xx · 23/01/2023 16:57

@Mummalouxx i got the text today as well and my scan date is 16/11 x

Squishy1911 · 23/01/2023 17:10

@jesskay hi! Your son sounds exactly like mine he had adhd, tics major sleep issues and suspected pda, he has all the difficulties that you have written down plus a few more and the night issues are just the same even though he’s on 6mg sleeping tablets at night his consultant said that it’s very easy for a child to fight off the effects of the medication, he’s also on medication for the adhd this is the 3rd increase of meds that he’s had since being diagnosed in November 2020, in regards to your claim it’s just important that you put as much info down as you can and have support information for that, I’m currently waiting on his renewal but I have had it before with no diagnosed conditions

Kaylisa · 23/01/2023 17:12

@mammaov3 tax credits is different to UC. If you’re on UC then you won’t be getting tax credits.
on your UC Claim your should have the standard element, child element, carers element, disability element and rent if you rent x

Kaylisa · 23/01/2023 17:13

Or if you get lwcra then I don’t think you can get carers element

jesskay · 23/01/2023 17:23

I went into detail with washing, dressing, sleeping eating. The danger he posses to himself and others with road and listening to basic commands. He really struggles. He swears, punches the walls screams fights all hours of the night. Sleep walks. He is a danger. The asd is really staring to kick in with certain things and if they are not so he kicks off and gets really stressed out. Just feel like I am failing and can’t seem to do anything right. X

Mummalouxx · 23/01/2023 17:49

@Sherie88xx oh really that’s more reassuring then maybe the same kinda thing as the letter, although I haven’t seen anyone else on here who’s had it unless I’ve missed it, was hoping someone else had of had it so we could see rough times ect, I’m guessing it’s still going to be another 3-4 weeks going by other peoples claims xx

Sherie88xx · 23/01/2023 17:54

@Mummalouxx yes a few people got the same message last week I see on here. So I think it’s ”.normal” . It’s the longest wait. I hate it. The thought of waiting another 2-3 weeks is painful. Especially if it’s rejected I think I will cry x

Squishy1911 · 23/01/2023 17:55

@jesskay don’t feel bad your doing everything that you can, I get my son fidgets to keep him distracted, I get him chewy things to chew on to try and stop him putting inappropriate and dangerous things in his mouth, he’s got a punching bag for when he’s having one of his bad days instead of trying to hit me or self harm there’s a lot of things you can do to try and keep his mind distracted, my eldest is autistic so I get what you mean in that respect, with my son it’s all about give and take and I make him well aware of punishments when he does try to push his luck, we use countdowns for poor behaviour and points based system for good behaviour

Mummalouxx · 23/01/2023 17:58

@Sherie88xx oh I must of missed them my bad. Yeah I know I felt this way with my son and he got awarded but this time I feel like it seems to be much harder to get awarded. I believe he deserves it and is entitled but I guess that’s down to the decision maker, we shall see. I might call next week and just see what they say. It seems asif claims around 4 weeks before ours are being dealt with though doesn’t it x

Sherie88xx · 23/01/2023 18:05

@Mummalouxx yes it defiantly seems harder now. Yes that’s what I’m thinking they seem to be around middle/end October. So we still got a while 😫 I might call Wednesday lol I hate waiting x I will update you if I call x

Mummalouxx · 23/01/2023 18:31

@Sherie88xx yeah same here the wait is hideous, yes please do :) I will do the same xx

VickieC86 · 23/01/2023 18:38

I got same text my scan date is 17/11 I called them this morning said will know 2-3 was didn’t get the text till after 3

Mumofboysteamginge · 23/01/2023 19:10

Sent docs in September scan date 09/11. I now have additional evidence, letter from gp and an anger/trigger diary and a sleep diary that CAMHS asked us to do! Is it worth sending these in or will it delay the process?

Shellbel10 · 23/01/2023 19:28

How long are mandatory reconsiderations taking. I’m over 5 weeks now
