DLA waiting times part 7

Hi everyone i started new thread as the other one was getting full my scan date is 23rd September still waiting for decision.

Scan date 17/10 will be 14 weeks Monday, not heard anything yet but had the generic texts stating that they are sorry about the wait etc. New Claim for us.
keen to see if other have received a response with the same scan date?

@Mothership87 I rang Monday at 12weeks to be told there looking at claims at week 13 and most sorted for 14weeks. Have you rang up?

Not an expert, since I'm just waiting for our first claim, but I have read a lot of these threads and it seems that once the claim is with a DM it can take anything from a couple of hours to a couple of weeks. Fingers crossed for you that it will be quick.

I’m 17th new claim. Rang yesterday’s and it’s with decision maker. Decision should be make over the next few days. Told me to ring after tues if Iv not heard anything 😀

I had to call as I had new evidence! You’re right it is nail biting the longer it goes on u think it’s a decline! Fingers crossed for you 2 😀

Good Luck to everyone waiting. Mine is a change of circumstances and when I rang 2 weeks ago the man on phone said they are taking around 22 weeks so it’s end Feb/early March for me.

Scan date 18th of Oct, just called and it's with a DM. Should get my decision within the week. Fingers crossed for my little one.

Hi fellow mommy’s, I’ve also been a secret lurker of this thread from the moment I sent off my sons DLA claim, we got awarded and backdated from September but I wanted to know how long it took for you to get your carers allowance?

Hi does anyone know when you are awarded dla for child are you backdated for child tax credit or income support?

@Disabledmom you will for tax credits but I don’t know about income support

@Asdmommy18 carers allowance took just over 3 weeks to be backdated from date applied, I applied 23rd December so that included Xmas hols, may be a bit longer due to Christmas break backlog but it was faster than I expected hope that helps x

I have been following this thread only for a few days .My scan date 12/10 called Tuesday told with dm and may have decision in 1 day or a week.Called this morning still with dm.Got text at 3pm saying child has been awarded dla.Called to find out rates high rate care component and low rate mobility Absolutely over the moon to get what my son deserves.He does not have diagnosis for Autism but waiting for keyworker with Cams.Sent in psychology report and cams investigation letter. So worried as had not completed the who knows your child declaration as GP was on leave .Form was so difficult to complete did it when suffering from extreme exhaustion from my sons meltdown but listed truthfully my struggles.Listing your struggles and a stranger been able to accept them is the biggest win for me .I just wanted the low rate as getting help with autism at every stage for me has been a struggle but keep strong and don't give up .Sorry for essay.Good luck to those waiting

Iv seen so many ppl get text this weekend from the same date as mine in now sure I have a decline 😣

They don’t always text. Still waiting, 12/10. Also seen people getting decline texts too. Keeping fingers crossed for us both x

It’s just the wait it’s driving me insane🤣 the longer it goes on the more anxious I get. I have been fine with the wait so far but now it’s close Nerves are kicking in. Really want to get my son some extra tuition and him receiving dla will help this be possible for him x

I’ve never received any texts from to say if it’s been successful or not, it’s always been letter never had a phone call either but some people do. Try not to worry too much ☺️

Hi All, my scan date is 21/10, hoping to have a decision soon. Anyone had a decision with same scan date?
also what’s th likely outcome for child with undiagnosed autism and adhd, speech disorder and delayed academic levels? I’ve seen such varied outcomes. Thanks 🙏

It’s no about their diagnosis it’s about the extra care needs and support they need, I had it for my youngest undiagnosed adhd up until 2 years ago then he got diagnosed I’m currently waiting on renewal for him at the minute
