OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
tourettesadhdmum · 15/01/2023 19:46

@Squishy1911 my dd put dangerous things in her mouth too! like blue tac and elastic bands, rubbers you name it. ohh that’s good that you already get DLA then! gives me abit of hope as we got rejected in nov 21 but we didn’t have a diagnosis at that point and i didn’t send any information in so this time i literally sent everything including reports from school and childminder. fingers crossed your renewal doesn’t take too much longer!

Honeypie91 · 15/01/2023 21:57

iv been watching this thread (and previous ) for a while now , scan date 31/10 .. anyone els around the same date and heard anything yet ? Is it worth me calling yet ?

Dee1618 · 15/01/2023 22:35

My scan date 18/10 and still nothing 🥴

xxlostxx · 15/01/2023 22:52

Scan date 10th Oct and nothing yet, will be 14 weeks tomorrow. Surely it can't be much longer 😩

Dee1618 · 16/01/2023 02:44

Hope not 🤞🏻

Thehonestbadger · 16/01/2023 07:51

@Honeypie91

Ours is 27/Oct but from what others are saying I’m not holding our hope it’ll be on time.

My son has received official diagnosis of ASD and had another full paediatrician report and educational psychologist report in the time it’s taken them to assess his claim.
We did send a fair bit of evidence in with the original including 3 SLT reports, nursery observations and support plans, paediatrician supporting letter and portage support letter but I’m frustrated that we may get a lower level than we should because there’s no way to update evidence as you go.

Im also desperately waiting on the outcome to apply for careers as we are now losing £280 a month in tax free childcare for my younger child who has to go to nursery because my ASD son won’t tolerate her and needs 1:1 supervision constantly.

Chaz5rascals · 16/01/2023 09:13

@tourettesadhdmum it must be so difficult for your daughter especially as people are so ignorant and feel they have a right to comment or stare. I hope school are supportive with that, it sounds to me like she is a very brave girl. It’s horrible when they come home and explode, nursery say it’s a good thing that he holds it in whilst there (although if they looked closer they’d see a lot more than they think!) but I think it’s wrong he should be able to be himself yet she’s encouraging the opposite and of course we just have to suffer the meltdown when he’s home not to mention how exhausting and mentally draining it is for him. Fingers crossed for your claim it’s such a long wait isn’t it.

GirlmumTN · 16/01/2023 09:26

Morning girls! Has anyone else had to wait for a national insurance number to be issued for their child? Just wondering how long it takes 🤯

MadmamMi · 16/01/2023 09:31

Wondering what date they are up to now😖 so close but feels so far away 😱

tourettesadhdmum · 16/01/2023 09:31

@Chaz5rascals aww nursery should let him be who he is bless him! i know kids can be disruptive but it’s not their fault. my daughter tries so hard to hold it in but on bad days she just lets it out and although school are supportive in a way, they will take her out the class when she’s having a bad day which in turn halts her learning. luckily ive no concerns just yet with her education as she’s where she needs to be but i really don’t want her falling behind just because someone hasn’t taken the time to ask her what’s on her mind (her emotions have a massive impact on her tics) at least they have us though to off load to bless them. so much to deal with at such a young age

Christinaja · 16/01/2023 09:36

Just over 12weeks not heard anything, might ring up

Mumtoella15 · 16/01/2023 09:49

At 15 weeks on Wednesday, scan date 5/10 , still no news . Cant be to much longer . Anyone know what date they’re work on ?

Christinaja · 16/01/2023 09:50

@Mumtoella15 have you rang up ?

Squishy1911 · 16/01/2023 09:55

It sounds awful for her, I know when my sons having a bad day he has a brain break where he can take ten minutes to do what he needs to do or is he’s at the point of non communication they will use different space different face techniques where he goes to a different classroom to try and do his work, his teacher also ignores his tics but his classmates are also aware of how he is and they don’t bring it up in front of him so maybe it’s worth having a meeting at school with her teachers to discuss this rather than her just being taken out of the classroom

Squishy1911 · 16/01/2023 09:58

He also has an emotions books for when he’s at school so he can write down what he’s feeling on a bad day, it seems to help on some days so maybe worth a try for her especially if she’s holding everything in, I know it’s not the same as saying it out loud

Mumtoella15 · 16/01/2023 10:05

Christinaja , yes I called up last week and they said it’s in the queue for the DM , and naught take another couple of weeks , yes I’ve seen some people on here with later days then mine being approved, I’ll call up on Wednesday that will be 15 weeks then .

Donna2324 · 16/01/2023 10:56

Scan date 24/10 anyone near my date that has heard anything, also I won’t 15 hours a week if I was to be awarded and claim caters allowance does that mean I won’t receive anything as my earnings are higher?? Wouldn’t want to reduce my hours

Squishy1911 · 16/01/2023 13:32

If your earn £132 a week or over I don’t think you can get it, I’m unsure if it effects other benefits

Mumofboysteamginge · 16/01/2023 14:51

I have just called sent my application in on 24th oct scanned 9th nov and expected 13 weeks

Honeypie91 · 16/01/2023 15:43

I just called and they said at 13 weeks ( 2 weeks time ) it will go to the dm which can take 7 days so in 3 weeks time I should be awarded.

Mumofboysteamginge · 16/01/2023 16:32

Just seen your comments, it really is the bigger picture isn’t it. Like you say you’re losing money on childcare for your other child. I had to close my cleaning business because I was having to let people down due to appointments for my son or just to attend school etc. This led to us claiming universal credit. They are now putting pressure on me to find a job, they said until claim is awarded I need to be actively looking for work, my children will always come first. The added pressure just isn’t fair. What employer is going to allow me to have the time I need for my son. Also would need part time to work round all 4 of them. It’s tough going isn’t it!?

Mumofboysteamginge · 16/01/2023 16:35

And to add that’s even IF the claim is awarded

pigsmightflyagain · 16/01/2023 17:56

I'm really worried about my son's DLA renewal. I had a letter to say they'd received it on the 28th of September 2022 (This could be a scan date). Nothing since.

Today I got a letter telling me my carers allowance ends on the 7th of February 2023 as their records show his DLA ends on that date :(.

Does this mean that his old claim is stopping and his DLA has not been renewed? Or has his renewal not been looked at?

I've tried calling but can't get through and as an ASD adult I get really frustrated with automated phone lines.

bagheera92 · 16/01/2023 18:00

@pigsmightflyagain hello ! So my sons claim was due for renewal and due to end January 28th.
My renewal scan of forms was October 21st.
I got the same letter as you from Carers allowance panicking.
I called them and they said you have a month from the letter they send and if your dla is renewed in that month you don't need to do anything . But of your renewal hasn't been done a month from the date on the carers letter you will need to re apply for carers.
I received a letter this morning saying my sons claim had been renewed until 2030

Squishy1911 · 16/01/2023 18:09

I think from previous comments through these posts they are generally looking at renewals 2/3 weeks before they are due to end, my current claim ends 4/2/23 and I haven’t heard anything scan date was 11/10
