My case manager left a message in the journal for me

Jayda19902022 · 09/01/2023 18:19

Has anyone been back dated carers while on income support

Roxmum14 · 09/01/2023 19:42

@Losttheplot1 I only received a letter to say that the decision maker had accepted my reasons of late notice, nothing about the amounts awarded yet!

bagheera92 · 10/01/2023 09:17

My sons claim is with the decision maker now I've just got off the phone. It's a renewal and his claim is due to end the 28/1. His scan date was October 21st

EBRSmamma · 10/01/2023 10:18

morning! So been watching this thread for ages… scan date 29/09… been with a case worker for a week today and still no desicion he said looks like they’ve not asked for any extra info so should be decided end of this week! My daughter is 8 and has a diagnosis of ADHD… included diagnosis letter and 2 years of medical records as she has serious bowel problem (stool withholding and incontinence) but not sure this is enough info! It doesn’t effect at school as she is so embarrassed she would never tell the staff but wears pads included all this but so worried it’s going to be declined!!

GirlmumTN · 10/01/2023 10:35

Anyone share light on this! My daughter claim been passed from DM specialist trace officer? I'm completely dumfounded as to how this process is working! Anyone had similar?

Supermam22 · 10/01/2023 11:21

Scan date 18th October, just called and still not with a DM, advised another 2 week wait.

Squishy1911 · 10/01/2023 11:31

Mines 11/10 so I bet mine hasn’t been looked at yet either

My daughter had very similar issues she wore pull ups or pads she was awarded high rate care when she was 5 she’s 15 now and is still on medication due to stool withholding xx

EBRSmamma · 10/01/2023 11:59

Oh bless her thanks for your message, the money would really help to go privately, currently on an nhs waiting list and getting passed from pillar to post! Hope everyone gets some good news asap! X

Roxmum14 · 10/01/2023 12:15

Anyone know how long it takes for uc to back pay disability and Carer's element? Thanks!

Lozzawilson · 10/01/2023 14:24

I just called about my submitted claim, scan date 12/10 was told minimum of
13 weeks before going to dm, decision by mid to end of feb - 19 weeks approx if no decision by then to call back and they can investigate

They seem to tell everyone different things. Most people seem to find out by 13-14 weeks. I’m same scan date as you.

Lozzawilson · 10/01/2023 14:57

Yeah I think mine will be over 14 weeks, it’s 13 weeks tomorrow, guessing it takes dm longer than a week 🙄

Losttheplot1 · 10/01/2023 15:43

@Roxmum14 Hi there, I done a change of circumstance on the 23/12. Recieved a message yesterday saying DM had accepted the delay in reporting. Still waiting for them to calculate the back payment. Some people have had theirs processed alot sooner, I think it depends on the area your in.

Cody3 · 10/01/2023 16:14

@Roxmum14 thats strange my scan date was 16/09 for mobility but classed as change of circumstances I was told 21 weeks wait

MygirlGrace · 10/01/2023 19:47

@Cody3 @Roxmum14 Hi, yes mine is a change of circumstances for mobility scan date 4th October I have also been told 21-22 weeks. The man on telephone said the change of circumstances are taking the longest. I think possibly because we are already getting the care part and at least getting some payments it is seen as a lesser priority to them x

Roxmum14 · 10/01/2023 20:24

@Losttheplot1 thank you for replying! I must be in a pretty quick area cos half an hour after posting my previous comment I had a note on my uc journal to say the payments had been changed to reflect the change in circumstances and then 10 minutes later the back payment was in my account! Feeling very grateful that we've had such an easy journey so far!

Amber2802 · 10/01/2023 20:26

Just wondering if it’s all done in the same office? I’m West Sussex, when I rung was told I have about 7 week wait. Scan date 16/11.

I think it’s regional. My correspondence address is Wolverhampton.

Cody3 · 10/01/2023 22:38

@MygirlGrace yeah makes sense

Kate6681 · 11/01/2023 07:30

Has anyone had any extra help towards housing benefit or council tax with a dla claim? I was told to ring them back when my claim goes through

Hannaway · 11/01/2023 09:11

My scan date was 8th October 2022.

I have just called up and they have said that it is with a decision maker.
