@PeopleWillAlwaysNeedPlates

This is why

I had heard they can be funny about it....

Thank you - I knew about that but I had no idea it could delay our claim. It’s a long and onerous form and I just didn’t have the emotional energy to tackle it during that period. I didn’t ask for or expect backdating and I’m so frustrated that it is now apparently an issue when I could have chucked that copy in the recycling and printed a new one.

PeopleWillAlwaysNeedPlates · 07/01/2023 20:27

@Squishy1911 I have no idea whether they will award at all. I’ve had no indication of their decision, just that they want more information. DC has had an EHCP since they were 3.5yo and I have been told this means we have a good chance of being awarded something.

Squishy1911 · 07/01/2023 20:28

The extra info of why sent in late?

PeopleWillAlwaysNeedPlates · 07/01/2023 20:32

Yes

PrayingandHoping · 07/01/2023 20:33

@PeopleWillAlwaysNeedPlates as usual dwp are unrealistic. I'm shocked anyone can fill that form in in 6 weeks.

Well... not well enough and with the knowledge and supporting evidence to get the award they deserve!

Squishy1911 · 07/01/2023 20:34

Absolutely ridiculous, the forms and extra info should speak for themselves regardless of whether sent in late or not

Alaiamummy · 07/01/2023 22:15

Where on the letter is the scan date??

MyBBGaremylife · 08/01/2023 08:34

Anyone heard anything over the weekend? I know sometimes they work weekends. Im on week 12 tomorrow and still havnt seen many awarded for October 😀

Squishy1911 · 08/01/2023 09:11

No nothing yet, I’m 13 weeks on Tuesday it’s really frustrating isn’t it

Ollie20 · 08/01/2023 09:16

@MyBBGaremylife Sadly not week 15 for me now it's been with a dm for 2 weeks so far so hoping this week i hear something. Good luck with your claim.

Mothership87 · 08/01/2023 09:18

we are form received October 17th so 13 weeks Monday, saw that some people from 6th have had their decision Wednesday so fingers crossed this week or next?

Mothership87 · 08/01/2023 09:20

Super frustrating-
13/14 weeks I think is about average at the moment it would seem… hoping to see lots of posts from people next week confirming decisions have been made

Squishy1911 · 08/01/2023 09:31

I hope so mines a renewal and current award ends 4th feb

MyBBGaremylife · 08/01/2023 10:07

I know we’ve had Christmas bank holidays but they seem to be at the end of September for weeks. Just hoping to see the beginning of October claims to start being done then I can estimate when ours is going to be scan date 17th October for me to 😀

MyBBGaremylife · 08/01/2023 10:18

This whole process is so frustrating. Everything is a constant battle for our children took 4 years to get my son a diagnosis cuz of waiting times. 3 months to receive diagnosis letter now on waiting lists for OT, continance nurse, dietician which Iv been told can be over a year. The school wouldn’t give us any support till letter was received as he needs a EHCP. my son is starting secondary in September so I can only imagine the fight will start again.

Squishy1911 · 08/01/2023 10:23

I know what you mean, my youngest is in year 5 now he’s already been diagnosed with adhd and tics over 2 years ago but both school and myself think there’s more there, he’s on waiting list for behaviour support and educational psychologist again and have been told that it could be at least 6 months before he’s seen it’s shocking because I want plans in place before secondary

Second paragraph - I assume it’s a standard template.

Just had a DM call me to speak about the mandatory decision I sent in.. I've been awarded highest care rate . I can't believe it 6 months ago I put in the claim, 2 months ago I was declined and sent off mandatory reconsideration argument. I'm so relieved. Does anybody know how much the highest care rate is?

Congrats! I believe it’s £91 a week x

Shellbel10 · 08/01/2023 12:28

So happy for you @sadiekt21 I’m currently going through mandatory reconsideration too. How long did it take. Oh this gives me hope I’m glad it worked out for you in the end

Oh my letter doesn’t include the date they received it just the date the letter was sent to me.. is this odd or do not all letters include the scan date

I had a second letter like that in November, apologising that they had not yet made a decision. You should have had one like mine first. Either it’s gone missing or there has been a mix-up. I would ring them and find not your scan date.

Chances are it’s got lost due to the strikes but I will ring up tomorrow? Have you been awarded yet or still waiting on a decision

sadiekt21 · 08/01/2023 12:47

They received my mandatory reconsideration letter on the 12th December x
