I won’t find out about mobility until next month but rang today to say I was accepted a blue badge for car they’ve just put a note on my sons application and they can just check it with council

Mumtoella15 · 06/01/2023 16:55

Scan date 5/10 , phoned up to be told there’s a 13 week wait , i said it’s already 13 weeks and was told that its just an estimate and to wait for a text and then I should ring back to find out the award levels , hopefully won’t be to much longer

Karolinaa · 06/01/2023 17:01

Hi, I did call dla and found out that they awarded my daughter middle rate care and low rate mobility(asd and suspected adhd), I am really glad my wait is over! Out of excitement I forgot to ask how long is award for. It was very long nearly 15weeks wait, I wish all of you best outcomes.

Shellbel10 · 06/01/2023 17:05

Great news I assume they’re back working weekends with their back log they’ve got

Ollie20 · 06/01/2023 17:59

Rang today scan date 28/09/22 still with a decision maker... Again was told the same thing really it can be any day now it's been with a decsion maker 2 weeks already. The DM has not asked for anymore info so my guess is they are looking at my sons claim :S My son is 31 months he cant walk due to a nurogentic disorder has anyone else got mobility for under 3. He turns 3 in July this year. I mean with the current wait times surely they can make exeptions. As my sons condition will not change due to what it is so he wont be walking sadly by this age.... Thanks everyone

As I understand it they will not pay you for mobility before they are 3

However they may award it for it to be paid on his birthday as you can apply for mobility once they are 2.5 (I did)

Did u fill out the mobility definition on the form?

Ollie20 · 06/01/2023 18:38

@PrayingandHoping Hi yes i filled all that section out just given the length of time they are currently taking at this rate he will be 3 near enough lol Thanks for your reply.

PrayingandHoping · 06/01/2023 18:43

@Ollie20 sounds like you would have ticked the "no cannot walk" box like I did too.... I also included a report from her physio and other than the long wait it was straightforward

If they had for their act together and awarded before her birthday I would have had a letter saying payments would start on her birthday so I'd imagine they'll say same to you

Gcmum11 · 06/01/2023 19:08

Anybody know the current timelines for mandatory reconsideration? And also do they suspend payments until they've looked and decided ? 😊

Ollie20 · 06/01/2023 19:09

@PrayingandHoping Yes thats the box i ticked. An included a letter from his OT who gave a really good indepth discription about all my sons needs e.g can't walk and can only bottom shuffle. So just hoping i dont have to re apply again in a few months and repeat myself.

Nothighgaprequired · 07/01/2023 12:07

Update. Just had a call from the nurse at DWP. Answered a few questions about school. Advised no assessment needed for pip. She is sending off to decision maker now with 8 week wait time, dla will continue until pip decision made.

Teatime55 · 07/01/2023 12:46

My carers allowance has been awarded and that’s only taken a week (I don’t get any other benefits apart from DLA for DD). Back pay and this weeks payment is in my bank, so fast!

Congratulations. 3 weeks and only just gone to UC DM 😡 I have to call 3 times to get their attention and 5 journal entries. Funny when they want to sanction people but when they owe you the drag their heels

MyBBGaremylife · 06/01/2023 12:31

Your the same date as me Iv not heard anything yet.. will let u know if I do 😀

I will!
have you called up yet?

Losttheplot1 · 07/01/2023 13:57

@Youngatheart91 I stomped off down to the job center yesterday with son's award letter and asked them to scan onto the system. Strange that apparently they can't do that and then magically recieve a call from my case manager half hour later. (Despite them saying I wouldn't be contacted until the 20/1) still not resolved other than them agreeing it can be pushed of to the DM. 🤷

Dee1618 · 07/01/2023 15:32

My scan date is 18/10 and still no news 🥴

Alaiamummy · 07/01/2023 19:16

Where on the letter is the scan date can anyone show me?

PeopleWillAlwaysNeedPlates · 07/01/2023 20:05

Our letter from before Christmas arrived today and it is a strange one. I rang up and requested the forms in May but it was August before I got around to fully completing them and sending them off. They want to know why. I will tell them the honest answer, which is that I was finishing in a very full-on and stressful job during that time and didn’t prioritise sitting down and completing the very long form and compiling evidence until then, and I felt it would be wasteful to print out a new form when I had a perfectly good one sitting there. I am so frustrated that this is delaying the decision even further. It’s not as if I expect them to backdate any payments before I actually applied.

Squishy1911 · 07/01/2023 20:13

They are asking you why it took from May to August to post the forms back?

PeopleWillAlwaysNeedPlates · 07/01/2023 20:17

Squishy1911 · 07/01/2023 20:13

They are asking you why it took from May to August to post the forms back?

Yes, they want to know the reason for the delay.

Squishy1911 · 07/01/2023 20:18

So you posted them back in august and they are only just contacting you now to ask why? That’s absolutely ridiculous it’s 4 months ago

PrayingandHoping · 07/01/2023 20:20

@PeopleWillAlwaysNeedPlates

This is why

I had heard they can be funny about it....

DLA waiting times part 7
PeopleWillAlwaysNeedPlates · 07/01/2023 20:22

Yes, posted end of August, scan date 16/09. I honestly cannot believe how ridiculous the situation is.

Squishy1911 · 07/01/2023 20:24

So they won’t award unless you tell them why you sent it in late?
