A new thread for those waiting on DLA claims as the other one was rather full. @girlmum25

week 16 here, no text or letter but a payment received in my bank this morning. More than I thought so but surprised but also so relieved that this will help my child access what they need. No idea what the breakdown is yet but hoping I’ll get a letter

Same thing happened to me, I've just rung them and he has given me the breakdown of the award and the date it will kick in, he said it was awarded on Thursday last week and a letter sent out same day but Royal Mail are on strike again today 😬 xx

alwaysonthegomum · 25/10/2022 11:21

I rang this morning and the woman I spoke to wasn’t helpful at all she said their taking 15 weeks even though the woman I spoke to Friday said only 13 weeks. It’s horrible having to wait to see if some stranger decides wether your child’s needs are sufficient enough to qualify especially when so many of us fight for the right support daily. I’m losing hope we will get a positive outcome

Thischarmlessgirl · 25/10/2022 11:24

@Weez88 that’s good, I’ll give them a call later, I’m assuming the payment today is 16 weeks backdated then it will start monthly from next month? Did they say?

He said the payment takes us to today and future payments are 4 weekly so next one will be 22nd November xx

@Weez88 - great thanks 🙏

I've just had a phone call from them! Nearly papped my pants... She wanted to ask a couple of questions about my daughter's night time routine. I answered the questions, also told her that my daughter was referred to community paediatrics for sleep problems a couple of weeks ago. She said she'd pop that on her notes, thanked me and I'd hear something within the next 7-10 days!

Question. So my son was awarded high rate care for 2 years. (Autism)
He wasnt awarded any mobility as he was just under 3. Hes now 3 and i just phoned to ask if we can claim mobility.
They said he cant until hes 5? I can do a M/R but he said i could also lose the higher rate care if the new case manager deems it so.
Anyone else on here claimed and awarded both? My son has zero sense of danger and would happily walk out in the road, off a cliff, walk off with a stranger. His understanding is very poor

Sophie0992 · 25/10/2022 15:40

Hi All,

I just posted on the old thread as didn't realise this new one had been created.

I have been quietly stalking trying to be patient but getting very anxious now.

My daughters claim was scanned on the 27th July. I caved this afternoon and phoned for an update and they are working on claims up to the 26th July.

The man on the phone "guaranteed" me that ours would be looked at next week and to phone next Tuesday if I hadn't heard anything.

Just thought those with a similar scan date might find this useful.

Good luck to all those waiting x

MotherOfCat · 25/10/2022 15:56

My scan date was 21/07/2022, awarded today.

Fantastic news! That's a couple of 21st July scan dates been awarded on here. I'm also 21st July and now worried as they actually called me today to ask a couple of questions. Was then told another 7-10 days - convinced this will be because my daughter will be sent a rejection letter :(

alwaysonthegomum · 25/10/2022 18:25

@Jodeeplus4 what evidence did you submit with form if you don’t mind me asking? X

Jodeeplus4 · 25/10/2022 18:51

Mummyjustmummy · 25/10/2022 21:54

Hi I’m new on this thread. Iv been reading for a few weeks but decided to post today.
Iv submitted the dla forms for my daughters renewal which runs out on the end of November. Do renewals have a different wait time compared to new claims? I only sent off the forms early October.

Kits45 · 26/10/2022 06:07

Money in the bank this morning awarded mrc very pleased scan date was 22nd of July it's been a long old wait but I'm very pleased :) not long for everyone else now :)

dandymum · 26/10/2022 09:08

@Mummyjustmummy from what I’ve seen people say on thread they’re doing renewals day before they run out 🥲 x

Scaredtobeth · 26/10/2022 09:10

I called yesterday and was told he was awarded MRC and no mobility on 22nd October (scan date 20th July). Weirdly though the backdated payment is more that I should have got for just middle rate care? Any one else found this?
