A new thread for those waiting on DLA claims as the other one was rather full. @girlmum25

@KodaS my sons school have applied for ehcp and referral to camhs he currently doesn’t have anytime in mainstream classroom and has to be supervised with 1:1 all day at school and his behaviour is out of control both at home and school, sent in reports from Ed psychologist and school so hopefully will be enough to back up the support he needs xx

WhatArentWeGoingToDo · 21/10/2022 16:19

Hello! 13th week wait so far here... Scan date of 21st July and now getting the heebie jeebies as the days go by. Going by what others are saying, could be another week or so before a decision is made. Such a long time to wait though!

alwaysonthegomum · 21/10/2022 16:50

I’ve noticed the thread goes quiet then all of a sudden lots of positive outcomes at once. Hopefully get the same soon

Xrachxx · 21/10/2022 17:10

I rang today for an update scan date 19th of July and it had been awarded 2 days ago so you really shouldn't be wanting much longer

alwaysonthegomum · 21/10/2022 17:14

@Xrachxx congratulations and bet your so glad the wait is finally over x

Shellbel10 · 21/10/2022 17:27

Great news @Xrachxx what evidence had you sent in. I’m feeling very anxious I’ve not sent enough

Xrachxx · 21/10/2022 17:43

I sent educational psychologist report a Copy of his ehcp and cams referral letter I was worried that wasn't enough but it was so try not to worry

alwaysonthegomum · 21/10/2022 18:06

@Xrachxx hope you don’t mind me asking what did you get awarded? As I’ve sent more or less the same as you x

Xrachxx · 21/10/2022 18:15

@alwaysonthegomum middle care rate lower mobility

alwaysonthegomum · 21/10/2022 18:20

@Xrachxx thats what I’m hoping my boy will get but I’m trying to see it as he will get declined then if he’s awarded it’s a bonus.
but I sent in Educational psychologist report, a report from school detailing the amount care and support he needs and their request for an ehcp x

Xrachxx · 21/10/2022 18:39

@alwaysonthegomum I really wasn't hopeful to be honest everything so far has been a fight to get him the help needed. So wasso relieved something went our way I've got my fingers crossed for you hope all goes well for you too

Jodie751 · 21/10/2022 18:44

@Mummyof2girlys yeah they must definitely be backlogged with how long it’s taking. It’s my fist time doing anything like this, my son is 7 and being assessed for asd. We didn’t know about dla until his school told us that they thought he would be eligible. We sent in his paediatrician assessment letter, and some letters/froms from school. We’re also in the process of appealing the decision of his ehcp, but they’re taking forever to get back to me with date.

@dandymum ah okay, I’m hoping it won’t be long with ours then. But I’m worrying they’ll just never get them.

I just want to know that they’ve received them, the waiting is awful. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for everyone to get positive news xx

dandymum · 21/10/2022 18:56

@Jodie751 the forms said 2 weeks to receive so if you haven’t heard anything 17 days from when you sent I’d chase them then x

alwaysonthegomum · 21/10/2022 20:33

@Xrachxx thankyou very much hopefully hear soon x

Kas76 · 21/10/2022 21:00

My scan date is the 1st August I didn't send to much evidence in .. a educational psychology report and his school added the rest. Im hoping he gets something. He don't sleep , maximum 3hrs a night but he hasn't yet been diagnosed so he doesn't have a pediatrician. But he has all the sensory needs as his older brother. The waiting time is causing so much anxiety

Bunnysarah · 21/10/2022 22:31

@Kas76 you scan date is close to mine!! 5th aug xx

Ithappenedfinally · 22/10/2022 12:50

Have followed this thread... scan date of 14th July just got a text this morning to say he has been awarded. The long wait is over! Good luck to everyone else

Shellbel10 · 22/10/2022 13:19

What great news @Ithappenedfinally what evidence did u send in

Ithappenedfinally · 22/10/2022 13:26

@Shellbel10 his ehcp, dietician letters, salt reports. His teacher is also the senco so knows him inside out and was able to write a statement. Play therapy and O.T reports. He is diagnosed dyspraxic and falls often due to his poor balance. He has broken his arms 5 times due to his falls since he started walking. He is 9 now.

Shellbel10 · 22/10/2022 13:31
