A new thread for those waiting on DLA claims as the other one was rather full. @girlmum25

Scan date 5th July and I know they're looking at ours as they phoned my son's preschool 3 hours ago asking questions... I'm so nervous waiting.
Happy for everyone who's had good news so far today, fingers crossed for everyone waiting

Shellbel10 · 18/10/2022 15:09

Jhtm · 18/10/2022 16:52

Pollyley · 18/10/2022 21:34

@Cass29 oh never! Another 10 days 😪. Oh I hope so. Other people have shated they been replied to a 12 days early 10 days early and 7 days early so could be any time for my dear child now. Hope so

MichelleG78 · 19/10/2022 00:19

I’m still following this thread and so pleased at all the positive outcomes! And feeling the pain for all those still waiting too! Unfortunately my claim for my DS was declined last month but I managed to pull myself together and have requested an MR. His hearing advisory teacher wrote me a supporting letter backing up what I’ve already said and I’ve included extra evidence too, I’m just hoping it’s enough! Now to wait again! Just wondering if anyone else has had any recent outcomes with an MR and how long it’s taking? Or anyone still waiting to hear. It’s all so stressful and upsetting!

Pollyley · 19/10/2022 07:40

I have a payment in my acct today!! So I am going to ring them later to ask for any information). Feels like a sense of relief and a weight is lifted off me knowing my dear sweet child will continue getting the support he needs. Will update later.

MsSerenity · 19/10/2022 07:46

Morning all. I'm in absolute shock! I've just checked my bank account and I have a payment by DLA. This is my first claim. They received my form on the 13th of July. I don't know the scan date. It's a large amount. I've tried to work it out. I'm thinking it must be middle or high rate. I thought if my claim was approved, I would get low rate if I was lucky. My daughter is 2 and a half years old with sensory needs and possible social communication difficulties. I only sent the SALT report stating this, the ECAT sensory needs audit and a letter from my best friend of what she has observed. There is no official diagnosis yet as I am still waiting to be seen by the paediatrician. I am so thankful as this can help with nursery costs and her sensory needs as I am not eligible for help with nursery costs yet because she is 2 so this DLA will help a lot. I am so thankful. I'm crying as I write this. So happy. I am going to ring first thing to find out what rate she is on. I received no text or phone call. On my previous thread, I rang them last week for an update and was told to not bother ringing for updates and that claims are taking longer to be looked and that they will contact me. Well, they never did. You find out when they put money in your account.

Thats excellent news for your little one I'm hoping all these positives come for son also who has autism diagnosis at 2 years old fingers crossed as nursery is good for him although he doesn't interact with other children and is non verbal I'm hoping being around other children will help him and would be excellent to have help with those costs my daughter has had to forfeit her school trip to France for her brothers nursery fees which is upsetting but I'm deffo hopeful with all these good results for other people :)

Shellbel10 · 19/10/2022 08:10

good News this morning then glad yous have got what you deserve

MsSerenity · 19/10/2022 09:55

High Rate Care for 2 years! I'm so overwhelmed with joy. Thankyou to all for sharing your experiences. I have been reading the posts everyday to keep me going and to have hope that the process will go smoothly. Don't give up and it will all turn out ok in the end.

Thankyou. My daughter is similar, she doesn't interact with other children, only adults. She only babbles and doesn't point to what she wants or to express her needs. I am hoping nursery helps her too to be around other children. All the best with your claim and hope it is resolved with a good outcome quickly :-)

Cass29 · 19/10/2022 10:45

Brilliant news for the people who has heard this morning it wont let me tag people x

my daughter is same and at nursery she’s come a long way with their support plan, even without the extra funding yet (she’s under 2) she’s gone from crying when other children come in her space to allowing them next to her when she’s engaged in something. ☺️

It is quite reassuring to know that alot of other parents are in the same boat as me as when the diagnosis came in June I was very confused and unsure what I should be doing to help my son I'm starting a course at the start of November for parents of pre school children with autism and I'm hoping this will help me understand his needs a bit more 👍

Pollyley · 19/10/2022 13:31

Spoken to them and feeling so relieved. He's been awarded. I am wishing all those waiting for good news. Il be leaving the thread now. Good luck all.

AH2022 · 19/10/2022 14:07

I’ve just phoned up and we have been awarded MRC and LRM. Scan date was 14th July! Hope everyone gets their decisions soon, it’s been a long 14 week wait!

Greencouch · 19/10/2022 14:17

Very happy for you ladies that have been awarded!

Has anyone had anything from beyond the 18th July? I'm scan date 25th July and this wait is becoming torturous!

Shellbel10 · 19/10/2022 14:37

Can I ask what evidence you sent in @AH2022 . Excellent news for you. Am waiting anxiously as only sent in iep and copy of prescription which is to aid sleep

AH2022 · 19/10/2022 14:46

@Shellbel10 my son has Tourette’s syndrome and I only sent in his original diagnosis letter from 4 years ago and a follow up letter from paediatrician stating a referral to cahms was requested (although that referral ended up being declined).

Mkd1322 · 19/10/2022 14:50

@Cass29 have you heard anything yet? Or have you spoken to anyone? This waiting is doing my headin now its been 18weeks 😫 xx

Cass29 · 19/10/2022 14:52

@Mkd1322 no not a thing its 18 weeks for me to i think we could be looking at 20 weeks at the earliest now 😏x
