A new thread for those waiting on DLA claims as the other one was rather full. @girlmum25

Very happy for you ladies that have been awarded!

Has anyone had anything from beyond the 18th July? I'm scan date 25th July and this wait is becoming torturous!

I’m the 19th July and mine is with the DM atm x

KodaS · 19/10/2022 15:24

@Gemmalouise2 my scan date is the same as yours, I’ve not yet heard anything hopefully we do soon,

for anyone else’s sending more stuff in, I have more emails from the school to send off as proof of how much he is struggling so rang last week and they said just send it either way with a covering letter and his NI number on it as recorded delivery

Mamofasd · 19/10/2022 16:28

I've just rang up on off chance I'm 18th July scan date and decision was made an hour ago! Back payment to go in Tuesday! Awarded MRC and LRM, hope everyone else gets there decision soon! So happy the anxiousness is over ❤️

Gemmalouise2 · 19/10/2022 17:10

@KodaS hopefully 🤞🏻
do you need to send a covering letter with extra evidence then? I’ve been sending stuff and just putting my boys name, reference number, and address on every copy

KodaS · 19/10/2022 17:15

@Gemmalouise2 no I think thatl be fine tbh, as long as it has there name and ref on xx

Jhtm · 19/10/2022 22:56

Does anybody know how long it takes for backdated payment to go in Barclays account? My daughter only got awarded yesterday morning

Mamofasd · 20/10/2022 01:45

I got awarded 19th October and he said it would be in my bank by tuesday

chelseajane · 20/10/2022 01:57

hi guys, 13th july scan date and got a payment around midnight! works out to be middle rate care which i don’t feel is correct tbh. how do you do the MR? my 4 year old is autistic and has a congenital heart defect. she has no sense of danger and can’t walk for too long without being tired so is still in a pram, also wakes up most nights in the early hours and is awake for hours! am i wrong for thinking we’re entitled to more? i mean i’m grateful for being awarded but i feel like it should be more 😩 xxx

chelseajane · 20/10/2022 02:00

forgot to add to my last comment that she needs help with absolutely everything, she is doubly incontinent, can’t dress herself wash herself etc. non verbal and communication is pretty much non existent to the point i have to guess what she wants/needs all the time. the senco at nursery even wrote a statement saying how she needs support with all aspects of life, and i included her autism diagnosis, latest IEP and a letter from great ormond street with her heart diagnosis on xx

Jodeeplus4 · 20/10/2022 09:32

Scan date 21st July, I have just phoned and was told 13 weeks is an around about date but it’s not with case worker yet so she’s forwarded it on to case worker and hopefully get an answer within 2 weeks 🤷‍♀️ that would put total 15 weeks wait time 🤯

When I phoned last week she said the last week of October I should have a decision my scan date is the 22nd of July but I'm thinking it will be more like the first week of November maybe 2nd week :/

Jodeeplus4 · 20/10/2022 09:53

@Kits45 ridiculous isn’t it. I’m annoyed because I applied in November and was told no so thought I better wait for his diagnosis before trying again. I should have done MR back then 🤦🏼‍♀️

Yep it's pretty terrible wait times I waited before applying till I got his diagnosis so this is my first go round so fingers crossed lol :)

KodaS · 20/10/2022 10:01

@chelseajane most definitely appeal that!! I’m not sure how you do it but I know some of the girls on here do as they have done it.
good luck xxx

honestly feel like i’ve been cheated a bit 🤣 my friends son is autistic but not in nappies and is verbal yet she gets high rate care and mobility! even she said my daughters needs are much higher, it’s crazy how they make their decisions. not looking forward to the appeal process 😩 took 14 weeks for this answer! xxx

Bvbvbv · 20/10/2022 10:25

@chelseajane i did MR similar needs to ur child it didn’t take long about 5weeks! Ask them to send statement of reasons then answer each question

i’m honestly just a bit baffled. like i’m grateful for being awarded but it’s almost a kick in the teeth saying she doesn’t need much care when she literally can’t do anything for herself! still waiting for a letter or text or something so i can start the appeal 😩 did they agree with the change in award for you? Xx

Bvbvbv · 20/10/2022 11:01

@chelseajane yes they did they gave high rate! they wrote he only needs help day time wen his awake all night that was one thing I sent sleep diary for that x

GemNE · 20/10/2022 13:50

I've just phoned and was told we've been awarded the lower rate (I've had no text and a letter was sent on the 18th he said). I said I disagreed as my son has to have someone with him all the time for his safety and has 1 on 1 at preschool all the time etc he doesn't communicate his needs, he's getting his EHCP etc the list is endless. He was so helpful, he went through the feedback from the DM and in a nutshell his age has worked against him (3 at time of application, he's 4 now)
He advised to wait for my letter then do a MR, backed up with a letter from preschool, doctor etc and as he's been awarded for 2 years I could also apply for change of circumstances when he turns 5. So I'll get those letters sorted asap, I'd advise you do too and any other evidence you can I'll be doing a bullet point of what our day is like. He also said if I don't get awarded with the MR then you can go to appeal but I don't know what happens with that

alwaysonthegomum · 20/10/2022 15:07

Has anyone else past the 18th July had a decision made? I’m currently half way through my 12th week and still nothing..
it’s such an anxious wait as you all know

Weez88 · 20/10/2022 15:34

Bunnysarah · 20/10/2022 17:06

Mamofasd · 20/10/2022 18:11
