Thought I'd continue the thread as it had reached its limit.

My application will be awhile before any response but scanned 5 July and nothing yet.

Kage87 · 24/09/2022 15:05

Jo197 · 24/09/2022 15:09

I know so frustrating

2under2and1more · 24/09/2022 19:18

I’m wondering if anyone can help answer my question.
I do not currently claim UC, but have been advised that now my child receives DLA we will be entitled. My partner and I both earn above the ‘entitlement’ limit for UC. My child has been given HRC and LRM which online says we would get £414 per month from UC and also £160 carers allowance as I care for him 35+ hours a week around working.
Is there any point me putting a claim in for UC to get this or will we be declined on income being too high? Or is the DLA element not taken into account?
Thanks

Shannon26 · 24/09/2022 21:07

@2under2and1more you'll be entitled to the disabled child element which will be the 414 a month your on about as your child receives hrc, not too sure about the rest but you'll be entitled to that part

Sarahjlk · 25/09/2022 07:58

@Kage87 have you still not heard either. I’m ringing tomorrow if i can.

I’m sure u can get the carers element on uc if u work. You can’t get carers allowance tho. I’m in same situation I’m a student so I can’t get carers allowance but I’ve been awarded caters element on uc but I am
not sure if you can claim with work pay so high. My sister gets 60 extra tax credit a week and she doesn’t get a high pay she’s also single. If your on tax credit I Wouldtn bother switching until they make you. Or maybe ring and ask might not be worth it xx

You will definitely get the dla element of UC so absolutely apply, the lady who I spoke to about the dla award said you can be a millionaire and still be entitled to the dla element.
I also work so not sure if I’ll get the carers element, however the lady that phoned me from UC said I may possibly get it but they will work it out.

Kage87 · 25/09/2022 14:42

DEAL!! lol x

Thatsnotmycar · 25/09/2022 14:57

There’s isn’t one set income limit for UC, it differs depending on individual circumstances. The child disability element and carers element of UC are still subject to deductions due to income, but it means you can earn more before the deductions wipe out the total award.

Thatsnotmycar · 25/09/2022 14:57

*There isn’t

Sarahjlk · 25/09/2022 15:17
