Thought I'd continue the thread as it had reached its limit.

My application will be awhile before any response but scanned 5 July and nothing yet.

I’m going to ring again Friday if i don’t receive a txt or anything.

JubileeTrifle · 21/09/2022 14:17

Does ringing make a difference? I’ve only just submitted but I’m in a panic I’m going to be turned down now.

Us3rnamee · 21/09/2022 14:17

Just came off the phone. (Scan date 23rd June) No decision, hasn’t been looked at. Said they’re looking at claims up to 22nd June. Should have a decision next week.. if lucky, end of this week. Will text when decision has been made 🤷‍♀️

harjinder01 · 21/09/2022 14:28

My son scan date is 30 June i have been waiting and am getting very stressed about it now am just hoping he gets something.

I have just got off the phone after being told my son is not entitled to DLA after a 13 week wait and after claiming for him for 6 years up until this point! I am absolutely devastated and am going to appeal all the way! I could literally cry!

Do you no the process to appeal I’ve rung today and found out my claim was unsuccessful, my son is at a speacial needs school, sees a speech and language specialist had his diagnosis of autism whilst I he claim was going through I rung to add this to my claim and they’ve still said no I’m devastated x

harjinder01 · 21/09/2022 14:56

I am on the fone at the moment waiting it's been 48 mins at the moment

2under2and1more · 21/09/2022 15:46

@MichelleG78
I called up and asked the reason why. For my son they said the reasons were ‘he is at the age of copying his friends so it’s probably that’ ‘he’s 6 so needs extra care anyway’ and a few other daft things.
So I made the MR then and there, told her why I would argue with each statement and gave her more information on his needs. So she sent the MR though for me.
I did the same for my daughters however I also sent some w tea docs in the post, her autism pathway referral, adhd referral, Hypermobility diagnosis, school report of her care plan that’s in place etc.
I have not yet got a decision for my daughter!

hope this helps! Hang in there!

Not really but when you wait up to 14 weeks and you don’t get any updates from week 8 it’s hard not to ring and find out what’s going on. especially when you read people are turned down. You just want to know what’s what really.

Sarahjlk · 21/09/2022 15:51

@Leah041196 sorry for your bad news.
i hope the MR goes through.
non off these rejections fill me with confidence for my boy. We don’t have diagnosis and still waiting referrals ect.
i honestly think it’s how you fill the forms in.

@Leah041196 The woman I spoke to said I have to wait for the decision letter to come through and it will give the details about if you disagree with the decision and how to go about a mandatory reconsideration. I’m so upset and angry right now, sick of having to constantly fight for the help my son needs in life! I’m so sorry your claim was unsuccessful too, it’s gut wrenching isn’t it!

Girlmum25 · 21/09/2022 16:34

Really sad to see these unsuccessful claims especially when you know in your heart your child needs and deserves it hope all your mandatory reconsiderations give you the best outcome 😮‍💨xx

Chay123 · 21/09/2022 16:40

So sorry to see these unsuccessful claims. I don’t understand how they can be unsuccessful with diagnoses.. my son is 7 and diagnosed asd, scan date 1st July. Making me sick with worry especially reading all these who definitely deserve to be awarded getting turned away. Not sure id have the fight in me for a MR

Us3rnamee · 21/09/2022 16:47

I really don’t know how they make their decisions, I applied for DLA cos another parent at my sons nursery applied for her son, no diagnosis, 2 years old and only evidence she had was speech and language and a statement from the nursery. So I was pretty confident, seeing as I had educational psychologist report, speech and language, paediatrician report, genetics department reports, statement from nursery staff. But seeing people getting refused with way more evidence is crazy and to think people with hardly anything were accepted. I just don’t get it

Leah041196 · 21/09/2022 17:00

My son is diagnosed autistic, they’ve had all reports ect I’ve claimed dla the last 3 years with no problem and to be fair when I first applied he hadn’t even seen a peadiatrician! But the nursery told me to apply so for the last 3 years we’ve had it I have been so grateful I have been able to say yes to things when we’re out, I don’t drive so rely on taxis quite a lot as my son isn’t road safe at all. I’m really now worried how I will afford to do most things now :( I wish the people behind the desk got to see what our life’s were really like and based decisions on real life instead of paperwork which was pretty hard to fill out in the beginning it took me 2 weeks to fill out 🙈

Oilytoe90 · 21/09/2022 17:06

I'm actually so so scared now that my lad won't get it x

Noneyerbuisness11234 · 21/09/2022 17:07

Kage87 · 21/09/2022 17:20

after reading some today and that mine is still with DM I’ve just accepted he’s not getting it..

Oilytoe90 · 21/09/2022 17:35

Honestly. I really hope everyone gets good news soon. We all deserve it for our babies x

Mummyof2girlys · 21/09/2022 18:33

My girls DLA was received 26/8 so iv such a long way to go 😥 really not holding my breath after seeing all these rejected applications. So sorry to all of you.

Chay123 · 21/09/2022 18:41

I’m wandering if there’s targets like are they only allowed to accept so many a day or week or something, as some reasons for decline are crazy when there is children with little to no evidence getting high rate

Lau20x · 21/09/2022 19:05

I’m also feeling like we won’t get anything now either. A friend of mine her daughters needs are so similar to my little girl. Age wise they are a month apart and she has been getting dla for over a year. No diagnosis. Applied with hardly any evidence and got it more or less straight away so will be really sad if we get declined as I’m really struggling to keep her busy and afford to do things with her at quieter times and sessions 😩 I also applied for a blue badge and got declined where as lots of people in my area with children with the same needs had them straight away with no hassle. Feel like everything is against us all the time 😢

Mamofasd · 21/09/2022 19:43

I've been keeping in my head it's going to be a no, as I've been fighting for everything for my son the past four years, it totally depends on what dm gets it I think, I was lucky that my sons autism nurse filled the forms out for me, but after reading some declines I'm not holding out much hope! I've still got a way to wait though!

Mummyof2girlys · 21/09/2022 19:47

When was your application received mamofasd?

Mamofasd · 21/09/2022 20:02

14th July x
