After about an hour of painless contractions every 3 mins, waters just went. Had forgotten quite how bloody much of it there is. I sit back and await labour...

So here I am in a very nice single room at the hospital which is soooo much nicer than I could possibly have expected. Lovely midwife from lovely midwife team came and sorted me out. I was only 1 cm dilated and not effaced so they have begun the induction with a propess pessary. Apparently it can trigger labour by itself in quite a few women, so am crossing fingers that I am one of those women- would mean I wouldn't need continuous monitoring and could stay a lot more mobile... Have been having a fair few twinges in the cervix which is a good sign!

Will attempt to update later but secretly hoping not to have time for a ball by ball commentary...

Good Luck Duchesse, 1 pessary was all I needed to get me going. Kept upright and bounced. Fingers crossed for a smooth short labour.
