they've just put me on the monitor again, i am guessing they'll check me after.

morning !! you'll be checked after your monitoring and then they;ll see if you are dilated enough for your waters to be broken, or you will need another dose of gel. are any ctx showing up on the monitor?

she took the monitor off, i said i needed a wee before she did aything else she said she'd come back then, that was half an hour ago...!

the contractions were showing on the monitor last night, but not this morning, but then they are mostly a lot less painful than last night, just the odd niggle, with a very strongone thrown in for luck every now and then.

when she checked me last night , she said the babieshead was quite high (+2cm) but that she could feel the head, so does that mean they should be able to do the waters do we think?

i am 39 weeks today.

please dont let us even get to 39+1!

tbh it'll be worth the pain of labour just for the sole reason ofgetting away from snortin woman! everytime she does it i have to stop myself from saying " go and blow your nose"

with my last preg i was induced and was having contractions every min really strong MW thouight i was about to deliver but when she checked me i was not even 1cm ,but doc stretched my cervix open and broke my waters.....ds2 was born 30 mins later

NJ - the snorting woman isn't me I've got my legs firmly crossed until after DD's bday.

I can picture you on that ward - have spent a few sleepless nights in that room due to snorting/labouring/generally noisy women!

Good luck, and def think the nipple stim/birthing ball combo might get those cx going.

And BTW - am very impressed that you can use MN from the AN ward!!

lol i read about snorting woman just as DS1 came in teh room dressed as Darth Vader with the breathing!!!

if the head is high it might be better to wait a bit for your waters to be broken, but it might come down when the waters go and with some strong ctx. also it depends how dilated you are if your waters can be broken and also if there is any room on labour ward.

Hope all is going ok Nat. Can't believe your dedication. Hope you won't be posting as the head is coming out! That could be tricky. Good luck and looking forward to the hopefully imminent announcement. xx

ah i'm not that dedicated nothing is happening except the odd tightening.

they've done a second gel, though she said things have changed since last night, don't know how or what has changed, but she said my cervix is still quie long.

that's it really, she said theyd examine me in another 6 hours, but I bet it will be tonight before they do it. that is the most annoying part, i said to dh, they did the firstgel lastnight at 8.20, they could havedone a second lot at 2.20am, but nope, it takes them all the way till gone 11 this morrning grrrrrrrrr

Will they let you out to walk around? If they will go for a walk and get a nice cuppa from the cafe and spend some time chatting with DH. Will relax you and the walking and relaxing might help, plus might be last chance for a while! And would get you away from the snorting woman.

hello, can you not chuck a packet of tissues at her - perhaps aim for her head on purpose to releive your frustration?

Induction takes a while in most cases, bu the longer the gel is in the longer it has to work. Its all going in the right direction. Hope the patientline thing isn't costing a bomb!

Oh dear. You don't know me from Adam but I feel your pain Nat. I had first gel at 10pm, second lot at 6am. Did bugger all for the entire day except lie on bed whinging and a brief walk to the coffee shop . Third lot of gel at 8pm and DD shot into the world at 3.15am. I was bored arseless.

Go and walk round the car park and then sit in the coffee shop. Everyone will give you looks of pity!

Honey... relax as much as you can. Start to talk to the baby. Tell him it's time to come down and out into the world.

Also, suggest lobbing some oilbus oil [sp?] or vicks at the snoring lady? More satisfying clunk than tissues.
