Sorry for bad typing, am on the crappy patient line keyboard thing.

Induction is underway, getting very mild period pains, but I think they are just prostin pains. anyone want to keep me company?

6 hours after the first lot of gel my bishops score was still 1!!!! I nearly packed my bags and went home, dd4 was born about 5 hours after the 2nd lot of gel and my labour was only 2 minutes. Loved the gas & air that time.........

Astarte · 26/12/2008 21:49

How long do they give you for things to start after the first lot of prostin Nat? Do you know what the sequence is..

Very exciting btw! I might well stay up with you, feel it's my duty

CantSleepWontSleep · 26/12/2008 21:50

Astarte - normally leave it a min of 6 hours after prostin before they give a second dose.

AaliyahsFirstXmas · 26/12/2008 21:57

Come on come on - Where's mikey?

pgwithnumber3 · 26/12/2008 22:00

Hope all continues well and you get to meet Mikey soon!

Astarte · 26/12/2008 22:07

CSWS- thanks, does that do the softening and effacing then? Or start contractions which does the job?

I've never been induced so not sure of what's what?

Nat I'm havin a break from our AN thread, with a new name, but couldn't not be here for you

Saturn74 · 26/12/2008 22:17

Good luck for an easy labour, NJ.

Starshinetiger · 26/12/2008 22:18

Sorry I shan't be staying up with you Nat - two long days and I'm in for the early morning slot with DS tomorrow, but shall check in then for news. Wishing you either a comfy night or a speedy labour

Aitch · 26/12/2008 22:19

PeachyBidsYouNadoligLlawen · 26/12/2008 22:26

You know they told me with ds1 they were prostin pains. They definitely were not!

Good luck NJ, what a fabulous night to have a baby and what a great name

peachygirl · 26/12/2008 22:31

Woo hoo! Just spotted this, lots of luck!

Ineedmorechocolatenow · 26/12/2008 22:32

Good luck!

ihavenewsockson · 26/12/2008 22:33

Good luck NJ.
I was induced with DS1, had the gel at 11pm, was told they were just prostin pains and he was born at 4:48am.
Hope it goes well.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 26/12/2008 22:35

thatsnotmymonster · 26/12/2008 22:35

This is exciting but I won't be staying up all night either!

I'm so glad I was induced in the morning both times.

I had got to 3cm after 6 hours both times so they will then take you to the labour ward and break your waters. My dds were both born VERY quickly after having my waters broken so if you get to that stage ask for lots of pain relief BEFORE they do it! (After was too late)

Hopefully by the time I log in tomorrow morning you will have had your baby!!

SantasNuttySTaff · 26/12/2008 22:39

Good Luck

Astarte · 26/12/2008 22:51

hmm, do they not start yo off on the labour ward then? Presumably they expect you to go into labour. Where would you be in the meantime?

All sounds good NJ

pgwithnumber3 · 26/12/2008 22:56

I went from 4cm to 10cm in 45 mins after being induced with DD2, you could go very quickly now. Good luck and wishing you a safe delivery.
