Sorry for bad typing, am on the crappy patient line keyboard thing.

Well NJ, remember the rythem of her snorting when it's time to push. Sniff-Sniff-SNORT-sniff-sniff-Snort.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 27/12/2008 14:51

treedelivery, i am on the due in jan thred, well sort of, i have only just started posting on it really.

lmao mkg i will try and remember that i tell you what joking aside, there is obviously something wrong with her, and i am sorry shes not well but fgs woman i am sure it'd help if she blew her bloody nose. thing is you cant win, the more you try to ignore it, the more you end up waiting for the next one!

Will they let you go for a walk? I was induced with ds2 (not so very long after your last epic birth thread ) and the hospital didn't much care what I did after they'd finished the obligitory post-prostin monitoring. The hospital is in the countryside, so dh and I went for a brisk waddle stroll not too far from the hospital, but just getting fresh air and some movement. No flipping idea if it made any difference to the induction, but would get you away from Ms Snorter.

treedelivery · 27/12/2008 14:56

Of course!!! Baby ate my brain moment!! I got the tip off about this thread from the Jan club but still didn't click.

Just been checking out your ds's on your profile. Cute!!

treedelivery · 27/12/2008 14:58

I spent loads of my labour - from 1 to 4 cms - outside the hospital trying to push a tree over. Thats what it looked and felt like, it really helped with pain I have to say. Had to keep bobbing back for a listen to bubbs though.

Have you got a portable DVD player? Marvellous things for tedious 'await events' days.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 27/12/2008 15:02

2happy, yep just been downstairs for asarnie and a coffee with dh, he haas nipped home to see the boys, ds1 is dissapointed because we'd told him the baby was likely to be here by this morning - oooops

oh bloody keyboard, am so sorry.

tree, yes, they are prety cute sometimes!

I'm still just a little .

It could be worse with your roomie thought. She could have terrible flatulance.

lou031205 · 27/12/2008 15:55

Hope boredom gives way to excitement when your bubba comes crashing over the finishing line!!

Astarte · 27/12/2008 15:57

Just checkin' in

My local hospital is all self-contained LDRP rooms too. Apart from the fact it's a hospital it's fab.
All along one wall is fitted cupboards which contain all the machinery, instruments, lamps etc. They just open up a cupboard and wheel out whatever they need. It's like a Magnet kitchen with lots of gadgets

The best thing about it is they don't have to keep leaving the room for a sphyg...monitor,,,etc it's all there.

If you want an active birth then there is no equipment to trip over get around either. Just a bed, and a single sofabed for Dad if it's a late delivery and an incubator. That's it!

Even the wardrobe is built in and large.

The bathrooms are individual too, or at least mine was.

The rooms are built around a square, in the middle of the square was the operating theatre in case of EMCS, so there was no wheeling you any further than 10 metres down the labour ward. Bloody brilliant design!

Astarte · 27/12/2008 15:59

When are they coming back to you Nat?

What's ol' snorty in for?

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 27/12/2008 16:01

Enjoy your visit from the ds's. You must miss them so so much. Are you going home at 4-6 hours? Can't remember the reason for induction [Lord my brain] but hope you can get home if thats what you want.

rrrayray · 27/12/2008 16:49

MatNanPlusTINSEL · 27/12/2008 17:07

How was the VE?

treedelivery · 27/12/2008 17:08

News please!?

MrsChristmasY · 27/12/2008 17:46

I hope the silence is a positive thing...

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 27/12/2008 17:52

i am desperate to get home asap after the birth, but i'm being induced due to the baby barely gaining any weight in the last month and a half, andmywaters arelow, so it will depend on the condition of the baby as to whether we're allowed home or not.

have had thetrace, babies hb is fine, it picked up my fairly strong pains, but im confused. first of all she said they do 3 lots of gel, if they dont work then it is up to the cons whether they do a forth lot of gel, or go straight to cs, or they might send you home (given why im being induced can they do that?) but now before shes even done the ve shes said no more gel because of the contractions??? if nothing has changed what does that mean? the contractions are painful but certainlynot labour painful yet and no where near regular, so surely she isnt expecting me to be in labour now?

treedelivery · 27/12/2008 18:05

Can shed a bit of light here, prostin gel is contra indicated where there is any uterine activity as it can casue a bit of a 'whooosh' reaction - over stimulation. No fun for either of you.

Even if your cervix hasn't started responding yet, they can't risk ploughing in with more gel until your body decides weather to go for it and respond......or not!

I'd be optimistic though as you have done this before. Once your cervix gets the message you'll be off.

MoreSpamThanGlam · 27/12/2008 18:09

Just checking in...am reading with interest.

Good luck NJ x

MatNanPlusTINSEL · 27/12/2008 18:12

Fingers crossed.

Hoope you have a nice visit with your DS's.

NatalieJaneIsPregnantAgain · 27/12/2008 18:17

thanks for that. i was being optimistic, now im flagging a bit. i was so convinced he'd be herebynowand with any luck we'd have been home, instead still sat here worrying what sort of condition hes going to be in, this pregnancy has just been anightmare, the one thing inever worried about was the labour not being quick and straght forward, infact if anything i was worriedit would be too quick, as it is, i cant even get it started.

MKG · 27/12/2008 18:18

Nat-Why won't they put in a drip?

MKG · 27/12/2008 18:19

in=on.

RuDiegetheRedNosedReinDiege · 27/12/2008 18:21

Hold on in there NAT. I know it's disappointing thinking you should have had your baby by now, but you've not gone through the last 9 months like a trooper for nothing! This time tomorrow it will all seem like a distant memory
