Been having on and off contractions since yesterday evening. Had 1& 1/2 hours worth last night, but not regular in length or interval.
Managed to sleep last night, been getting them on and off again today, but think thye may be increasing in intensity.
I've got a continuous tightening pain under my bump, then what I think are contractions start under my bump and then it moves across around to my back.
But had no show or anything.

I'm having some problems with timing the contractions because they seem a bit vague, I imagine it would be like
no pain, pain, PAIN, PAIN!, PAIN!!!!!, PAIN!, PAIN, pain, no pain.
But it's more like
pain, oh, is that more pain? Oh yes I think so. Ooh better start timing, OWWWW!! Has it stopped, err no, err yes, err no. Oh now it has!

Does this make any kind of sense?

Hi everyone. Have left BT and baby Daniel asleep on the post natal ward.

He weighed in at 6 pounds 6 oz, and after a bit of shaky start with oxygen and then some odd blood gas readings from the cord he's doing great. Big blue eyes, loads of brown hair and looking round at this strange new world. They're keeping him overnight to make sure his bloods are back to normal - had to draw a tube of blood at 7ish to see how he was doing and they were much better.

I'll leave the details of the birth to BT when she gets home tommorow. All I'll say its its a fun one! But as I said earlier BT was an absolute trooper - can't believe how well she did.

Tired now. Been a long day. But what a day!!!!

JustMissyNow · 27/12/2007 23:16

We'Re going to be in hospital for another day as Daniel's blood sugar is low but getting better.

Aww - he's asleep on my arm as I type!

lulumama · 28/12/2007 13:04

congratulations to bouncingturtle and imadaddy on the safe arrival of baby daniel

marvellous news !

MarsyChristmas · 28/12/2007 13:05

Make sure BT does lots of skin to skin (naked baby against her naked chest) and that she breastfeeds him as much as she can. Also when they prick his heel make sure you hold that foot between your hands for a few minutes before presenting it to be pricked. Gives a truer reading.

becklesparkle · 28/12/2007 14:44

Well done Bouncing! Glad baby Daniel arrived safely! Hope his blood sugar picks up very soon and you can take him home - can't wait for details!

xxx

ILikeToMoveItMoveIt · 28/12/2007 15:14

If BT is bf'ing, this will help stabilise Daniel's blood sugar xx
