Been having on and off contractions since yesterday evening. Had 1& 1/2 hours worth last night, but not regular in length or interval.
Managed to sleep last night, been getting them on and off again today, but think thye may be increasing in intensity.
I've got a continuous tightening pain under my bump, then what I think are contractions start under my bump and then it moves across around to my back.
But had no show or anything.

I'm having some problems with timing the contractions because they seem a bit vague, I imagine it would be like
no pain, pain, PAIN, PAIN!, PAIN!!!!!, PAIN!, PAIN, pain, no pain.
But it's more like
pain, oh, is that more pain? Oh yes I think so. Ooh better start timing, OWWWW!! Has it stopped, err no, err yes, err no. Oh now it has!

Does this make any kind of sense?

Huge Congratulations BT!!! All the pains before were doing something, very well done to you for holding on.

Hello! Thankyou to everyone who posted for all your wonderful advice and encouragement during what turned out to be the labour from hell.
It was all wonderful and much needed (the encouragement, not the labour)

Went through some very dark moments when I honestly thought I couldn't cope, especially when it came to the point just before I discovered I was 9cm dilated.

My lovely DH (who is typing...) was a real rock as was my midwife. When it came down to actually delivering Daniel I struggled psycologically to push as the pain was very intense. I commented to DH today it was like trying to do a bungee jump - I have a fear of heights. Despite the fact I felt like was being ripped apart I was utterly amazed that I actually delivered with just a little labial tear.

He is absolutely precious to me and he was worth every minute of it. Physically I'm absolutely fine, just a bit tired, and the memories of Labour are rapidly fading.

I'll do a birth announcement when they let us out hopefully tomorrow.

Well done you! It might take longer to fade for your DH... but it will fade.

Good going girl!

Well done. The losing it at 9cm dilated is a common thing... as is the not being able to push properly because you know it hurts! This time tomorrow you'll be planning number 2 thinking that it was all wonderful :-)

Bloody hell!
Have just looked at my notes - the official time for my labour was 1 hr 12 mins!!!

Apparently the 20 hours of agony I went through before hand didn't count

I feel so much better now

Back home with my gorgeous little boy. Look up cherubic in the dictionary and his picture is next to the definition.

Ah, am so glad for you BT. What a lovely short labour you had

Hi Bouncing -- am a little late, but none the less heartfelt: congratulations to your lovely boy. You are probably too busy to read this thread but my thoughts are with you!
