Currently being induced - Can I ask to stop?

Was induced yesterday due to a scan the day before at 39+3 saying I had severe excess fluid. Had a pessary in for 24 hours and nothing has changed. I’ve been here for over 36 hours now, I’ve not slept and I’m struggling mentally.

Am I able to request a c section instead? My mum had a stillborn linked to induction, I’m at risk of cord prolapse the longer I go and I’m really working myself up and just don’t think having anything else shoved up me is going to be right for me 😞

Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww Thanks

Congratulations OP! I remember you from one of the early pregnancy posts last year. So pleased your little one has arrived safe and sound.
I’m being induced tomorrow 🤞🏼

It stinks they messed you around instead of getting on with it, had they wanted to do emcs they would have had you in theatre in minutes. I wish I had been more outspoken like you instead of being in induced labour for 60 hours before being taken to theatre for emcs. If they had done yours when you asked, you would have been home by now & there would have been a bed for someone else.

Aw brilliant so glad to see this ☺️ Congratulations!

How bad was the cannula in your hand and how was getting the spinal done? They’re the silly bits I’m worrying about! X

Littlebee1990 · 16/05/2021 02:07

Thank you ALL so much, I can’t believe it and still amazed at the support on here.. now I’m a officially a mum on mumsnet!!

@sarah13xx In all honesty they were the worst 2 bits but they were done soooo quick. My cannula hurt for a few days after cos I have “kinky” veins apparently and the spinal stand but honestly they were fine, I’ve never been in hospital before so I’d no idea what to expect and I’m a bit of a pain avoider but honestly I’d do it all again tomorrow.. if was all absolutely fine! Nothing made me scream or say ouch haha x
