I'm 40+2 with DC2. DM is staying to look after DD1 when the time comes.
I'm fed up, we're just milling around waiting! Bouncing on the birth ball, eatinv pineapple and planning a spicy curry for tonight.

I'm tired and grumpy. Anyone care to join me? I'm clearly a delight to be around Wink

Well DD is finally here! Born late last night after 3 hours pushing, then forceps and episiotomy. Went from 2cm to 9cm in 2 hours and just on two codeine! A whirlwind but the best thing in the world! Mega tired and being kept in for blood loss but feeling brilliant tbh!
Good luck to everyone still waiting, its sooooooo worth the wait 😃 xxx

Loft653 · 17/12/2015 08:31

Congratulations Daffodil Grin

Won't be long for the rest of you now x

teamrigby · 17/12/2015 08:50

Hey, I'm 40+2 today and done! :)

Saw midwife on Tuesday and baby is 4/5 engaged and apparently very comfortable and happy!! Shame I'm not comfortable!?

Booked a sweep for Sunday morning.

Only signs are BH are on and off and have lower back pain :/

Fingers crossed something happens soon as I really don't want a Christmas/Boxing Day baby!!

jamtartandcustard · 17/12/2015 09:01

Congratulations daffodil
Still waiting here. Resigning myself to a Christmas Day baby. Symptom wise same as usual - lower back pain and bh's constantly. I'm worried that by the time baby actually decides to appear, I've had so many false starts that I won't believe I'm in actual labour until I'm pushing out the head!

Persephone76 · 17/12/2015 09:04

Aww congrats daffodil, brilliant news! Hope blood loss isn't too bad, be kind to yourself and make sure you get lots of support (I had episiotomy and blood loss with dc1) Im 40+5 today, can't be too much longer now!

strawberryandaflake · 18/12/2015 07:29

Well done daff. SmileI had a transfusion for blood loss, make sure you get lots of yummy iron foods when you get home.

Can't believe mine are a week old already and agreed, it is worth the wait.

Oh Jam, perhaps we should start a sweepstake on you? ;-) xx

Sleeplessme · 19/12/2015 10:16

Congratulations Daffodil! Well done you. Enjoy cuddles with your lovely new DD.

My lovely DS finally arrived arrived on Thursday as well, a whole week late! But he was worth waiting for. Had a brilliant home birth just had to go into hospital due to blood loss in the end but all good now.

Lots of luck to all of you who are still waiting, it will definitely be not much longer now. My advice is whenever you get any BH or any symptoms at all, try and keep them going by doing lots of bouncing, walking, RL tea, anything! Eventually they won't die down and will turn into the real thing. Looking forward to seeing lots of new baby updates here soon. Xx

teamrigby · 19/12/2015 17:42

Congrats Daffodil :)

4 days overdue here now. Really thought things were going to happen today, as last night bump was going absolutely mental - like it was breakdancing or something! Was really aching!

Overactive movement is just starting up again as I type :(

Seeing midwife for a sweep at 10am tomorrow.

strawberryandaflake · 20/12/2015 03:16

Good luck Rigby, my babies went nuts before I went into labour so hopefully they're doing the same for you! So wriggly in fact they couldn't monitor the heart beats at the hospital because they wouldn't stay still long enough Smile

Frankie2015 · 20/12/2015 11:46

Hey, I'm 40+3 now, had a sweep on Wednesday and the midwife said I was already 1-2com dilated and should give birth by then end of the weekend but nothing so far :( it's so frustrating and really getting me a bit down now. My DH only has these 2 weeks over Christmas off and with it being our first I really wanted us to enjoy as much time together as possible with the baby but feels like I'm never going to go into labour. So aware Christmas is only a few days away as well, dreading a Christmas Day baby.

jamtartandcustard · 20/12/2015 16:21

OMG strawberry, are they really a week old already??? That's flown by!
Still pregnant here 40+6 though I think I only have a day or 2 left. Been having contractions all day, every 5-10mintues since 8am. Putting them down to Braxton hicks as just bump tightening a but they are now starting to be felt in my back too so fingers crossed these are the real things. Either way midwife is doing a home visit tomorrow for another sweep, hopefully this one will be successful and baby will be here by the end of Tuesday! I'm excited (and will no doubt be on here on Wednesday crying about still be pregnant!)

Persephone76 · 21/12/2015 08:47

Hope rigby and jam you get to see your babies soon! I finally had my baby girl on Saturday morning, 7 days late. All happened v quickly in the end, woke at 2 with a twinge, which had happened all week, but couldn't get back to sleep. It all ramped up v quickly, got to hospital at 5 and was 9cm. Had her at 6.45am! She's a big girl - 9lb 8oz!

Persephone76 · 21/12/2015 08:53

Congrats sleepless, just realised I missed that you'd had your baby! So we were both a week late in the end. I think the raspberry leaf tea did help - i had a fast labour and only 10 mins of pushing.

jamtartandcustard · 21/12/2015 10:07

Congratulations Persephone. Wow what a weight! Glad to here the raspberry leaf tea worked, I run out a week ago so haven't been taking any but hope the rest remains in my system.
Still no baby but been having contractions all night. Midwife been this morning, I'm 2cm and 75% effaced and she gave a good sweep so hopefully tomorrow night I will be cuddling our baby! I've always gone into labour within 24hrs after a successful sweep so can't see why this one should be different. I'll just keep bouncing on this birth ball

teamrigby · 21/12/2015 14:01

No luck here yet :(
Midwife did sweep yesterday morning. Said I was 1cm dilated but cervix was 2cm??
She got a pinky mucas show and said all promising.
Baby has been kicking away as normal since, still got low back ache but nothing new :(
Booked to go back for a 2nd sweep tomorrow if nothing happens.
Congrats persephone I've been drinking the raspberry leaf tea - not sure if it's doing anything though lol

jamtartandcustard · 21/12/2015 15:52

Ah teamrigby won't be long now. Hopefully these sweeps will get things going and out babies will be here before Xmas

Sleeplessme · 21/12/2015 16:17

Thanks Persephone and many congratulations on the birth of your little girl. Yes both a week late, naughty babies.. Worth waiting for though right. My labour was super quick as well, 90 mins start to finish, but then I expected that as with my last one couldn't even get MW there on time. Your baby does have a good weight! Well done you. Hope you are feeling OK. Xx

Sleeplessme · 21/12/2015 16:22

Jam and rigby, all sounds very promising! Keep bouncing on that ball and walk walk walk, you'll be holding those babies very soon. Have you got breast pumps? Give those a go too, you'd be surprised what that can do. :-)

jamtartandcustard · 21/12/2015 17:33

No I don't as I'm planning on ff but we have done a bit of nipple tweaking.
I'm so blooming excited - just had my bloody show!! Yay! Just hope baby can hold off till tomorrow morning as we sent the kids away last night and nothing happened so have them back now and don't want to be doing an sos in the middle of the night!
22nd December is sounding good. dh had bought a "my first Christmas" sleep suit so be nice to get some use out of it Wink

Daffodil90 · 22/12/2015 01:31

Got my fingers crossed for you jam, hope it times out right :P
Look forward to your update.....cant believe where time is going.....DD 5 days old already!

jamtartandcustard · 22/12/2015 06:03

5 days old???? Gosh I can't believe how the time is flying!
I think I'm just trying to get myself into the Guinness book of records for worlds longest labour Wink
Contractions stopped and seem to have gone back down to Braxton hicks - just painless tightenings again as opposed to the build up - peak - die down in both back and bump of before. Definate contractions. But that was probably early labour - the latent phase - as I was starting to dialate and efface. Now we are just waiting for the active phase to begin. Tis like the calm before the storm! At least I've had a good night sleep and am feeling refreshed and ready. Plug still coming away which is a good sign.
How you getting on rigby? Any progress?

teamrigby · 22/12/2015 09:00

I'm still here lol!
41 weeks today :(
Off to see the midwife again at 10 for a 2nd sweep.
Think the rest of my plug came away this morning. Was more creamy clear though.
Fingers crossed!
Still haven't had any contractions just BH.

teamrigby · 22/12/2015 09:03

Yep just googled pictures and definitely was plug :)

Mrsunders86 · 22/12/2015 09:07

Hello!! Congratulations to the ones with babies already! I'm 40+6 midwife won't do a sweep until Sunday!! When I will be 41+11...however...been having mild contractions on and off for the last two days, not regular at all but hoping they will increase, I'm another one who is dreading a Christmas Day baby! Good luck to those still waiting!

jamtartandcustard · 22/12/2015 11:46

How did the sweep go rigby?
