I'm 40+2 with DC2. DM is staying to look after DD1 when the time comes.
I'm fed up, we're just milling around waiting! Bouncing on the birth ball, eatinv pineapple and planning a spicy curry for tonight.

I'm tired and grumpy. Anyone care to join me? I'm clearly a delight to be around Wink

Yes, haha! I think dad had written me off as well at 36...

He's been told he's not allowed to buy football kit.

SerenityReynolds · 27/11/2015 17:07

Saw midwife today and feeling positive Grin! 1cm dilated and she could feel baby's head when she gave me a sweep. She's booked me in again on Monday for another one if needed. She also said sex is by far the best natural way to kick off labour so may have to sexily waddle pounce on DH over the weekend! Chilli for tea tonight then back on the ball......

SerenityReynolds · 27/11/2015 17:08

Oops, strike out fail!

strawberryandaflake · 27/11/2015 19:17

Yay! Not long now then Wink

Sleepybunny · 27/11/2015 21:52

Sounds like good progress SR! Nothing happening for me today. Been walking alot, bouncing on the ball again and spicy pizza for tea.

Hi, can I join the club please?
Am 40+5 with my first (team yellow) and thoroughly fed up and bored! Been on mat leave since start of November and my other half has been on leave all week (he's owed lots of leave) which has been lovely - but I've literally done everything there is to do (even items which have been on my to do list for 5 years!) and am just waiting, and its driving me mad! Am so grumpy, poor OH! Have a sweep booked tomorrow so am hoping not to have to wait too long - the more I wait he more nervous I get!
I hasten to add this is not at all like me, I am usually much more likeable and cheery - clearly waiting for a baby does funny things to you...
Hope you're all doing OK today and have some nice stuff planned?

strawberryandaflake · 28/11/2015 12:55

Going to watchable village Christmas lights switch on and go out for dinner. Watch my waters break in the high street Grin. How about everyone else? Any twinges?

SerenityReynolds · 28/11/2015 14:01

That sounds lovely strawberry, I love it when all the Christmas lights go up in the high streets and shops Smile. Waters breaking in the high street would be quite dramatic!

Welcome Zamaz! Hope the sweep goes well tomorrow.

TMI alert Blush but lost my mucus plug this morning which hopefully means things are moving along! Nothing else happening yet but heading off out for a walk soon. Hope you're all having a lovely weekend.

jamtartandcustard · 28/11/2015 14:18

Can I join? I'm not overdue but am full-term, 37+5, and throughly fed up and uncomfortable.
Strawberry - I won't say double trouble but I do already have two boys and well ...... Hoping for a girl! Haha. No really boys are very loving and affectionate and great fun (we also have 2 girls) but they do have me pulling my hair out at times!
No sweep or induction booked yet. Every night I'm certain I'm going to go into labour as Braxton hicks are so strong but no such luck. Also keep being paranoid that my waters have broken and are trickling out but I think it's really just extra cm (sorry tmi!).
Raspberry leaf tea is said to make contractions more efficient and make the second stage of labour (the pushing part) shorter. I take the tablets as they are stronger then the tea bags

strawberryandaflake · 28/11/2015 16:04

I lost my plug 2 weeks ago, but my midwife said it grows back. Probably have another one by now. Grumph.

Aah, yes, glad I don't have to deal with the period nonsense in about 13 years or so! Grin

brokencrayons · 28/11/2015 19:12

How is everyone? 40 + 6 tomorrow! Absolutely no twinges for me. Had an urge to clean like a crazy lady today and now I have BH almost one after the other, but no pain!!! Give me pain!!! Lol

strawberryandaflake · 28/11/2015 19:30

Grin Yes, I put my pelvis out cleaning the kitchen yesterday. It's weird that we look forward to being in pain isn't it?

Sleepybunny · 28/11/2015 19:32

I'm still ball bouncing and impatiently waiting. No twinges just BH as usual.

Been walking and trying spicy food again. I think I'm just tormenting myself now!

Arghhh!!!!

Does anyone know if your waters can trickle for a bit and then stop?

Or am I just disgustingly oozy?

SerenityReynolds · 29/11/2015 13:26

Your hindwaters can go before the " big gush". It happened to me with DD - if you put a dry pad in, see how wet it is after an hour. Maybe call the midwife if it is, as they will need to check if your waters have gone. I was also getting mild cramps every 20 minutes or so when it happened.

Hormonal1 · 29/11/2015 13:43

Hi all, think I'll be going into December too. I've not had a show and baby is seeming far too comfy! Probably TMI but my Piles are killing me and I'm feeling very sorry for myself today Sad. Think I might ask for induction next week when I see the midwife again......

Loft653 · 29/11/2015 13:55

Sorry Strawberry, no idea about hind waters.

Still waiting here, went out for a walk this morning and have been on my ball but no symptoms yet and 41+1 now. Decided to bake a chocolate fudge cake this afternoon, I figure I may as well wait around in comfort!

strawberryandaflake · 29/11/2015 14:02

Yes to fudge cake, no to piles.Smile

I woke up all leaky but it stopped. Bounced on my ball for a bit and nothing, so now lying down to see what happens. My cervix is ittccchhyyyy. Hoping it's dilating.

SerenityReynolds · 29/11/2015 14:16

Loft I think eating a chocolate fudge cake is an excellent way to wait for baby to come out! I got a packet of raspberry Magnums half price in the co-op the other day, so have been treating myself to those.

I was hoping something was starting last night as was getting sort-of cramps with back pain. Nothing this morning though Sad. My cervix also felt a bit stingy and itchy, so hopefully that is a sign strawberry!

strawberryandaflake · 29/11/2015 14:24

Mmm... Magnums...

Fingers crossed for you!

strawberryandaflake · 29/11/2015 21:05

Humph. Went to the ADAU to get checked out (their suggestion) and all still intact, not coming today, not dilated, just a bit of thrush making me extra dischargey (watery not the thick type so had no way of knowing).

The speculum bloody hurt, how am I supposed to push out a baby?! Or two?!

Sleepybunny · 29/11/2015 22:45

Yum ice creams abd chocolate cake. Sounds good to me.

Hope everyone is feeling more upbeat after the weekend.

That's fustrating Strawberry, but these things happen often. Speculum examinations are uncomfortable, but oushing out babies comes wuth pain relief if you need it, so try not to worry.

Can't belief we're all still waiting. Someone update with a lovely birth story soon. I'm 40+6 tomorrow. Midwife appointment in the afternoon. Hoping for some positive news.

How do you all feel about induction?

OP posts:
SerenityReynolds · 29/11/2015 23:19

Sorry to hear that strawberry

Not very keen at all for induction here Sad Just because of the increased chance of instrumental delivery or c-section. It just feels like you're trying to force baby out before it's ready? Also frustrated that they'll only give me until 41 weeks - feel like the pressure's on! Mind you, I went into labour with DD the day before my induction, with no real warning, so the there's still time.

Much less crampy tonight. Think I need to be a bit more active tomorrow. Fingers crossed for some baby news from somebody soon!

strawberryandaflake · 30/11/2015 09:29

Yeah, me neither, I have 10 days left until induction so hopefully they'll come before then. Back to the ball and the chilli!

Can't believe we're all still cooking them. Smile

grace11 · 30/11/2015 09:32

Hi everyone, can I join? - I'm 40+6 today and have an induction booked on Sunday. I've decided to try acupuncture this week - I get three sessions - last one is free as she hopes I won't need it! It's been quite a surprise for me to go overdue as I was 'on time' with my first so never considered the second would be longer. I'm really against induction but I think the worry about going past 42 weeks won't help natural labour so probably no point waiting and worrying...
