I'm 40+2 with DC2. DM is staying to look after DD1 when the time comes.
I'm fed up, we're just milling around waiting! Bouncing on the birth ball, eatinv pineapple and planning a spicy curry for tonight.

I'm tired and grumpy. Anyone care to join me? I'm clearly a delight to be around Wink

Yes, me. Finished my toilet book because sometimes there's no point getting up, I know I'll inly be back in a few minutes. I'm just a walking blob of poop and ooze right now. Just been crying because I am so fed up. I'm only little and just not physically strong enough for this weight any more. If I beg the doc, what do you reckon the chances of them bringing the induction forward a few days are?

blackkat1978 · 03/12/2015 15:30

I've been following this thread since it started, congratulations to all of you who've had your babies. I was in your position just over a year ago. I desperately wanted to avoid an induction as I wanted to have a home birth. I'm assuming that you're all aware that you don't have to be induced & that you can opt for monitoring instead. Thankfully I managed to get the very pushy mw to back off with talk of induction by speaking to my local SOM (supervisor of midwives) who completely agreed that it was my choice & told me I didn't need to deal with that mw again & booked me in for my 1st monitoring session at 42 week's. I think that made me relax as baby boy arrived the day before.
Good luck ladies

strawberryandaflake · 03/12/2015 15:44

Sadly, blackkat, with twins they can't go past 38 weeks as the placentas break down and it can cause huge complications. I have to have an induction if they are not out by then as I don't want them to be born with any health problems.

MrsCrimshaw · 03/12/2015 16:17

Ah strawberry I really feel for you. I am struggling with the weight too, and I only have one in there! We bought a 3-storey town house a month ago and I have to do the 2nd staircase with hands and feet like a dog Hmm

strawberryandaflake · 03/12/2015 17:03

We have an apartment. Fortunately there is a lift but I can't take my doggy out when he needs to go and I feel like a bad mummy already. Bless him, he's so good he waits all day for OH to get home from work.

MrsCrimshaw · 03/12/2015 18:56

I'm still walking our pooch, but very slowly and waddly. I do feel like I am short changing her a little bit. She is a collie cross and she needs to run really but I can't make that happen right now. I am also struggling to pick up her poo. Technique is to get my legs as wide apart as possibe and bend - not pretty!

blackkat1978 · 03/12/2015 22:54

I didn't know that about twins strawberry. Hope your labour goes smoothly

strawberryandaflake · 04/12/2015 00:19

Woohoo! Probably tmi but a whole load of pink watery stuff has started to come out! I hope this is it this time!

MrsCrimshaw · 04/12/2015 05:55

Good news strawberry and me too - my waters went at 4.30 am triage told me to go back to sleep then call my midwife first thing but I can't sleep now!!

strawberryandaflake · 04/12/2015 06:56

Me neither. Oh so exciting! You'll be running up those stairs in no time Smile

Mine has started stopping so I don't think is my waters, just my cervix effacing but that's a whole lot more than it's done so far!

SerenityReynolds · 04/12/2015 07:42

Sounds very exciting MrsC, hopefully things are moving along. Still absolutely nothing to report here Sad I actually feel less like I'm about to go into labour than I did earlier in the week somehow! Have had my show, and still get crampy in the evenings, but getting more resigned to induction now and just feel a bit fed up. That is really the last thing I wanted for my labour, but have another medical condition so there's no way they'll delay it longer than 41 weeks. Ah well, I just keep telling myself that this time next week, I'll have my baby here! Keep bouncing ladies!

jamtartandcustard · 04/12/2015 09:06

Ooo looks like things are moving on today. Fingers crossed MrsC and strawberry it still sounds like things may be starting. Not long now.
My ball is also deflating and the poor dog (jack Russell cross) is being very short changed of walks. Plus I've only got enough raspberry leaf tea for the next 3 days and don't really want to buy more.
Although induction talk is still a few more weeks away, my midwife has already told us they now do it at 12 days over instead of 14. No blooming chance am I agreeing to that. Induction on Boxing Day? I have plans. If baby doesn't want to appear before Xmas he/she can wait until the 28th! Although I'm aware that "induction" depends on which consultant I see that day as I've had a csection previously so I know they don't like doing it.

putthePuffindown · 04/12/2015 09:35

I have my fingers crossed for you both MrsC and Strawberry!

I'm 41+1 today (though we think they have their dates wrong and I'm more like 40+5) I was booked in for aromatherapy and a massage today, but just had a call to reschedule for tomorrow. It wasn't our normal midwife and I asked about also rescheduling the induction that was booked for Monday and she was totally agreeable! Grin. I've been so worried about it, she was just confused as to why it was booked so early given no medical reasons - us too, especially when we'd specifically said we wanted to avoid. Woohoo what a weight off.Grin

MrsCrimshaw · 04/12/2015 10:15

Midwife has been. Had to show her my pads to prove my waters had gone (nice) and avoid internal inspection. Am not in labour so they are giving me 24h then will induce me in the morning if necessary. I'm leakier than a sieve!

Serenity and strawberry i really hope there are no more false starts for you both. It's so demoralising :( i'm keeping my fingers crossed for you xx

Can't believe I will be meeting my baby this weekend!

MrsCrimshaw · 04/12/2015 10:18

Jamtart and puffin sounds like you both can't wait now either!

Our dog has gone mental this morning. Think she can smell my leakage and it's driving her crazy...

strawberryandaflake · 04/12/2015 12:12

I had to show my pad at the hospital last week too. Gross. Especially as I never use them otherwise and the maternity one looks like strips of duvet.

Just feeling lots of pressure right now. Not enough for contractions still I don't think.

azulpear · 04/12/2015 15:44

Hello everyone, I am 40+1 and this thread has made me feel so much better knowing that there are so many other people feeling like I do. I have the odd twinge and I think that my mucus plug came out a few days ago (no blood) but nothing else is happening. I am bouncing on the ball, drinking the tea, practising the hypnobirthing relaxation and having sex as often as I am able (which is not that much to be honest!). Hoping not to be induced, just the same as everyone else.

Gogos · 04/12/2015 15:51

Hi ladies, I'm 10 days overdue today with baby number 4. Was really hoping to avoid induction (booked for 6 December) - never had to be induced before - but getting resigned to it now.

Slow realisation that our kids make us wait for every stage they go through. Crawling, walking, talking, learning to read. List is endless. It's always us parents waiting and they're doing things at their own pace. So I guess giving birth is the same. We just have to let them get on with it and be patient!

strawberryandaflake · 04/12/2015 16:36

I'd like my body back now though, please.

jamtartandcustard · 04/12/2015 18:28

Ditto strawberry. I wouldn't mind waiting if my husband was carrying it Wink

strawberryandaflake · 04/12/2015 19:38

Hahah! Yes, mine keeps saying he doesn't want them to come yet so they'll be bigger. I have to remind him that if I split then sex is off the menu for even longer and that soon changes his mind.

SerenityReynolds · 04/12/2015 21:12

Just a quick update! My waters partially went at about 1pm, confirmed by the hospital Smile Having regular but definitely manageable cramps/contractions back at home and will call them tomorrow to let them know how things are progressing. Hopefully will carry on naturally before then - just been out for a quick walk to Sainsburys to keep things moving along!

Welcome to all the new ladies. Hope you're not waiting too long.

putthePuffindown · 04/12/2015 22:19

I have my fingers crossed for you Serenity!

strawberryandaflake · 04/12/2015 22:48

Yay Serenity! That's great news! Grin

SerenityReynolds · 05/12/2015 09:08

Pleased to say that our gorgeous girl arrived this morning at 2.15am. Things ramped up very quickly in the end and we got to hospital half an hour before she arrived! Normal delivery, just a bit quick! Enjoying some snuggles currently Smile Hope the rest of you ladies get to meet your little ones soon, will keep an eye on the thread to see xx
