...but that last BH made my eyes water. And the previous two weren't very comfortable, either.

Um. I have a surveyor coming round to the house on Monday and I also booked in to get my roots done for Monday afternoon.

We are trying to get DS through bath time and bedtime at the mo'.

And DH wants to go and get a takeaway after DS is in bed.

The house is in a state as well.

Look, this isn't a veery convenient time.

Okay, if things are kicking off, which I hope they aren't and bet they aren't now I've started a thread about it, how can I slow it down/stop it for a couple of days?

I'm so hungry. Could I have a biscuit?

StarlightMaJesty · 01/06/2012 20:06

Codeine phosphate syrup.

NicNocJnr · 01/06/2012 20:06

Starlight - What's the strength of it? If it's the 'usual' 25mg/5ml then it only depends on the reason for prescribing (opioid analgesic, antitussive, antidiarrhoeal) as to the dose. Low dose for coughs, higher dose for anti-d/pain.
For the avg adult probably 10ml (medicine spoon) 4 hours or longer apart generally the dosage is 15-60mg 4-6 hours apart diagnosis dependant.
but obvs I am not a Doctor or pharmacist I'm a vet nurse actually...so any fur you would like to own up about?? Grin

NicNocJnr · 01/06/2012 20:08

Jars!!!! Well done you (I wish that stopped sounding so darn patronising).

MW will have encouraging news I 'spect! I'd tell you good news for a Jubilee Biscuit

StarlightMaJesty · 01/06/2012 20:09

25mg/5ml.

Fecking enormous bottle. Store it in the top of my wardrobe coz has no safety cap and scared kids will get hold!

StarlightMaJesty · 01/06/2012 20:09

Pooh, jubilee biscuits.

Do you have a jubilee birthing outfit?

RationalBrain · 01/06/2012 20:10

Do you think the midwives will string up bunting and be waving union jack flags from the sidelines?

KarenJT · 01/06/2012 20:13

i wish you luck openerofjars but reading this threat makes me think you know what you are doing

Hope you will share your final outcome with us on MN
xx

Delurking to mark place how exciting

StarlightMaJesty · 01/06/2012 20:15

What's the dose for labour

I told the mw I wanted gas and air early on and she told me to take codeine, but not how much!

StarlightMaJesty · 01/06/2012 20:16

Champagne ?

Yum.

Are you going to drink it in the pool whilst waiting for the placenta to come out?

PinkFondantFancy · 01/06/2012 20:21

I'm back! Go Jars!!! Puuuuuuuussssshhhh!!! 

Impatientwino · 01/06/2012 20:23

Oh love, I'm so excited! Grin

NicNocJnr · 01/06/2012 20:24

Well Starlight, as you are not intending to whelp 6-8 little babies then I don't know. I would say I would flipping well start with 60mg!! It's def in date though? Syrups can get ever so yukky if left too long and with evap etc concentration can be affected. Have a double-double check before you swig a hit from the bottle take a spoonful. If in doubt then they can prescribe you some more.

Give the MW a tinkle?

Jars - that champagne will be juuust right by the time JarsJnr gets here, no hurry, it needs to be crystal clear and colder than a witches nipple.

StarlightMaJesty · 01/06/2012 20:27

Yep. Only given couple few weeks ago. 2000ml of the stuff apparently for my 3yr old after her tonsilectomy.

No idea why they gave me so much.

BewitchedBotheredandBewildered · 01/06/2012 20:28

Lurked all the way through, just told DH that I am distracted because I'm following a live birth thread.
Eew, don't understand that, he said! Boring old fart.
Jars you sound deeply gorgeous.
PomPoms waving here. x
Really exciting.

EdgarAllenPimms · 01/06/2012 20:35
