I will now make a huge idiot of myself...

...but that last BH made my eyes water. And the previous two weren't very comfortable, either.

Um. I have a surveyor coming round to the house on Monday and I also booked in to get my roots done for Monday afternoon.

We are trying to get DS through bath time and bedtime at the mo'.

And DH wants to go and get a takeaway after DS is in bed.

The house is in a state as well.

Look, this isn't a veery convenient time.

Okay, if things are kicking off, which I hope they aren't and bet they aren't now I've started a thread about it, how can I slow it down/stop it for a couple of days?

Made it to my hair appointment, yay!

Good baby.

Excellent. :)

openerofjars · 28/05/2012 21:20

Still an idiot! Grin

But I remembered about the tub of chocolate icecream, so now I'm a big, fat, happy idiot.

I seem to remember being able to delay my labour by thinking "this is it, this is the moment". As soon as I got into the mindset of "well, no doubt Ill have to get induced" bam. Labour.

So, now you have no roots, the surveryer has been and the house is tidy, are you wanting baby NOW or are you happy to loll around a bit longer?

openerofjars · 28/05/2012 22:56

Well, I do have a friend coming over tomorrow...

And the loft insulation man is due to pop over to do a quote on Wed. Hmm

I'm waiting for a labour thread here.

Any time now.

openerofjars · 29/05/2012 06:28

Sorry.

Blush

We could have a sing-sing to pass the time?

OP posts:
openerofjars · 29/05/2012 06:30

Or even a sing-song. Whatever you'd prefer.

OP posts:
GnocchiNineDoors · 29/05/2012 08:51

Something lively, then you can dance along? That might start the CXs?

I was dancing to in a bar the night before I went into labour - it called out to me, as I had finally started looking wider than I was tall Grin

openerofjars · 29/05/2012 09:13

Nah, it's going to be a June baby, I can tell.

Too tired after crap night's sleep (hello, car alarm! Hello, irritating early-rising neighbour) for dancing. Yawn.

OP posts:
GnocchiNineDoors · 29/05/2012 09:14

Grin hope you are resting up then!

Do you have any names picked out?

openerofjars · 29/05/2012 14:28

Mm, resting up... Does weeding the yard and washing bed linen count?

I did say what an idiot I am.

OP posts:
openerofjars · 29/05/2012 14:31

Sorry, yes if a girl, not really if it's a boy.

Rosalind Morwenna Jill Surname

Or

Young master Thingumy Wotsit Dunno Surname.

GnocchiNineDoors · 29/05/2012 14:47

Nah, as long as you put your feet up afterwards.

Love Rosalind, but prefer Thingumy Wink

openerofjars · 29/05/2012 15:22

I am the most boring person to hang out with today. A mate and her baby came over today to see us, and we were going to do stuff in town etc with DS in tow. Instead, the washing maching broke, so we went out for a sandwich and then came home again to wait in for the repair man.

It didn't seem like a good day to be left without laundry facilities, but even so, it wasn't the most fascinating trip out. So her visit consisted of: driving to
John Lewis, having lunch, helping with weeding the yard (we were sitting out there and got bored while waiting for the repair man) and then driving home again. She was every so nice about it, though.

DS is now watching a DVD while I MN. Technically, I have giving up on parenting him today.

I love Thingummy :o

Morwenna, what a cool name.

openerofjars · 30/05/2012 07:25

Still naff all happening here.

However, I can report that having raspberry leaf tea before bed is a bloody stupid thing to do.

Also, I haven't lost any more plug for a couple of days.

I feel like I've gone back two steps.

OP posts:
GnocchiNineDoors · 30/05/2012 09:24

Ah, but on the positive, you may not have nay more plug to lose Grin

openerofjars · 30/05/2012 11:29

Nah, it wasn't bloody, just pant snot. Oh well. It takes however long it takes, eh?

I started a "I think I'm going into labour" soon thread last week, and didn't. On the upside my BH calmed right down so have been able to do stuff rather than just get on all fours and whinge. ELCS next week so at least there's an end in sight for me...why not arrange something that's expensive to cancel for tomorrow or Saturday? That'll get the baby moving!

Like Rosalind, love thingumy! Might steal Thingumy if mine is a boy :)

openerofjars · 30/05/2012 13:48

Hmm.

Bit twingey. Not particularly sore but feels... useful. If you know what I mean. Nothing to call DH home from work about or organise childcare, but hmm.

Probably nothing.

Go and get yourselves a coffee, why not?

I want a Logan's Run style button that changes colour when it's labour.

openerofjars · 30/05/2012 22:04

Nope, buti am getting that ooh-have-my-waters-gone-no-it's-just-pints-of-discharge-oh-god-pregnancy-is-so-gross thing. No more plug, but I can't remember losing much with DS until I was seriously in labour and mashed off my tits on gas and air last time.

Boy, I'm looking forward to the gas and air. Grin. Fun, legal and free. Get on.

How's everyone doing? I feel like I ought to be refunding admission, or offering alternative flights or something. "Sorry about the no-show: can I placate you ladies with a ticket to the next showing and a free drink?" or similar.

Alan, my friend had an ELCS last year and she said it was the bollocks. So much better than VB and no ragged bits afterwards. She took a great deal of satisfaction in being able to sit down afterwards! I'm going ahead with this thing now because I have a fucking massive NHS paddling pool set up in my dining room and I've spent about £20 on a hose, shower curtains etc.

Bumpy is going nuts at present. Feet in my ribs, knees in my navel, and presumably a pair of angry little fists in my bum. I think. Crazy kid.

OP posts:
friedfrog · 30/05/2012 22:40

Now Bumpy.....will you just appear now please. You are squatting and it's not funny!

(not sure if it will help but bumpy has now been ticked off)

Frog x
