...but that last BH made my eyes water. And the previous two weren't very comfortable, either.

Um. I have a surveyor coming round to the house on Monday and I also booked in to get my roots done for Monday afternoon.

We are trying to get DS through bath time and bedtime at the mo'.

And DH wants to go and get a takeaway after DS is in bed.

The house is in a state as well.

Look, this isn't a veery convenient time.

Okay, if things are kicking off, which I hope they aren't and bet they aren't now I've started a thread about it, how can I slow it down/stop it for a couple of days?

Wow, you are my hero! No tears, no G&A... fabulous.

How are you all this afternoon? 8 am here. Is she feeding ok? How are you feeling?

MarsLady · 02/06/2012 16:53

I miss the 'live birth threads'. Must pop by more often.

openerofjars · 02/06/2012 16:55

Feeding beautifully, nice grim nappies, all going really well.

She is currently being a tiny ball on my chest while we wait for her big brother to get back from his grandma's.

Congratulations to you all! You did great ! Enjoy your snuggles over the long weekend.

Jacksmania · 02/06/2012 17:34

"being a tiny ball on my chest"

Can you believe she was inside your tummy just 14 hours ago?

Does she just smell delicious? New baby smell...

NicNocJnr · 02/06/2012 19:57

Massive, massive congratulatoins! The whole jars family gets the best Jubilee weekend!

I'm so sorry I missed the action (on-call sadly) but as soon as I read the news I went all giddily weepy prompting DH to ?? - consequently he's now sending his congratulations. We're both smiling like loons and just a little bit broody ourselves.
You are amazing, what a wonderful birth and now beautiful Rosalind is actually here and soon to meet her big brother.
Can I just say a huge thank you for allowing this particular nobody to feel so involved in your wonderful birth. We are so pleased for you and so, so happy. Jars, you really spread the love!! Crown [huge I heart you emoticon]

NicNocJnr · 02/06/2012 19:59

See - to blasted giddy to spell! *Congratulations!

Jacksmania · 03/06/2012 04:50

This is the loveliest birth thread ever... ThanksThanksThanks

openerofjars · 03/06/2012 09:21

Thanks to everyone for your lovely kind messages. Nest of vipers, my arse. Grin

First visitors due at 10, so off for a shower/large gin. DD (!) finally asleep after a night of voracious and growly feeding, like a baby tiger, DS making a lot of noise and v excited about new sister but being super-good, and DH being ace too.

I have put a photo of my tiny girl on my profile, in which she mostly looks like Winston Churchill in a bobble hat, i.e. so a baby, but is of course the most beautiful baby ever born (apart from you, DS, of course).

I haven't seen the neighbours yet, but having seriously yelled my way through an hour and a half 2nd stage, I'm not sure I want to. I hope think they were out, but not sure. [cringe emoticon]

And you are all fantastic! I can't believe you ran a book on DD's sex, time & weight! Or that DH got n on the action. Is that not insider trading or something?
Sorry to anyone betting on earlier, but having read the notes now, apparently DD'a cord was wrapped round her neck twice (she's going to be a drama queen, this one, isn't she?) so it took a bit longer due to the bungee effect.

Anyway, less of all that, and more about how ace you all are. Actually, I know it can be just all words on a screen, internet sprites &c, but knowing this thread was running was like having a motivating force of invisible internet cheerleaders.

Imagine how crap it would have been if none of you showed up, eh? How embarassing would that have been? "I'm having a live birth thread!"

So yay for the massed hordes of MN!

Grin Blush Thanks

Oh Opener! I can't believe I missed it all! ruddy parents staying and demanding all my attention dash it

HELLO to Rosalind - she's a gorgeous tiny person isn't she?

:) Thanks Wine

Did you have the champagne?

openerofjars · 03/06/2012 18:18

No, I can't face it, weirdly. Must be the post-birth hormones. Cup of tea was fine!

OP posts:
Thumbwitch · 03/06/2012 18:32

Aww, she's a cutie and doesn't look Winstony at all! Well not in that photo, anyway. :)
Glad it all went well, despite bungee efforts. Grin

milkymocha · 03/06/2012 19:22

Amazing!
Congratulations Jars on your new little angel. May she bring you a lifetime of drama Wink !

youngblowfish · 04/06/2012 00:48

De-lurking to send you huge congratulations! Your daughter is gorgeous, well done!

I love this thread, particularly your post-birth high. Oh my word, I just made a person. Bloody hell. A whole human being just came out of my fanjo. I was thinking those exact thoughts after giving birth to DS. Obviously, your birth sounds absolutely amazing, but however babies come about, I am still stunned every time by that miracle of nature.

Jacksmania · 04/06/2012 04:13

Oh my goodness she is the sweetest thing EVER!!!! Oh, I just want to fly over from Canada and cuddle her and give you the biggest hug.
Yes, loved the post-birth high :o

openerofjars · 04/06/2012 05:30

You are v welcome to pop over: we have loads of cake! I'll get the kettle on.

Right now we are having a lovely cuddle because she is all worn out after a big feed. She is all snuffly, like a tiny silly creature, and keeps squeaking a bit, Klein she's having a dream. I don't think I should put her back in her basket. She clearly needs a snuggle. Grin

OP posts:
openerofjars · 04/06/2012 05:31

Like, not Klein. Who is Klein? Confused

MarkStretch · 04/06/2012 06:36

Ooooh yay I won I won I won the guessing!

Where's my champagne? Eh?

Well done jars, I had my little dd 5 months ago and she's currently snuggled up next to me in bed, post morning feed. Having babies is so cool.

scrablet · 04/06/2012 09:34

ohgs, I have a wee tear in my eye and I don't even know you!!! Congratulations, your new DD is lovely (as is DS of course) and enjoy the baby days, they are great!
xxxx

Dillydollydaydream · 04/06/2012 09:57

Ah congratulations!
Lovely name :)

mamarara · 04/06/2012 11:01

Oh jars massive congratulations. So pleased everything went well and your litre girl arrived safe and sound. Huge un-mn hugs xxx

mamarara · 04/06/2012 11:05

Oo little not litre obv. DYAC

nickelbarapasaurus · 04/06/2012 12:23

awww, she's adorable!

and don't put the kettle on - make the visitors/DH put the kettle on!!

Jacksmania · 04/06/2012 15:24

Right, I'll book my flight. :)

And it would clearly be extremely silly to put her down. What a ridiculous thought. You'd feel all funny without her and she would too so you obviously need to be glued to each other for a while longer.
Ohhh, tiny newborn snuggles... sigh :)
