...but that last BH made my eyes water. And the previous two weren't very comfortable, either.

Um. I have a surveyor coming round to the house on Monday and I also booked in to get my roots done for Monday afternoon.

We are trying to get DS through bath time and bedtime at the mo'.

And DH wants to go and get a takeaway after DS is in bed.

The house is in a state as well.

Look, this isn't a veery convenient time.

Okay, if things are kicking off, which I hope they aren't and bet they aren't now I've started a thread about it, how can I slow it down/stop it for a couple of days?

I got the snuggles in last night, all right.

Guess how long DD fed for?

9 hours.

Not a typo. Not a 6 on its head. Not 9 minutes. 9 hours in a block.

Good job I love her so much, the tiny piglet. Grin

The MW today said I look "awful" and to go back to bed, so today I will be mostly doing sleeping and eating (in bed, between sleeps).

All is okay really, though: DH is doing all the cooking/reheating and DS is being fab. DD is of course a lovely little sausage, even if she did try to eat me last night.

I wish I'd done that with DD - I didn't have a clue what I was doing, was so paranoid about the co=sleeping thing, that DH got all the snuggles (because she didn't cry when he held her) and i only got her for the feeding

openerofjars · 05/06/2012 14:29

Aw... Sad. DH isn't getting any cuddles because Mrs Fatty Pants is a feeding machine. Either she is being passed around her relatives or I've got my boob in her ravening mouth.

Today's visitors had to postpone (Yess! Air punch).

EdgarAllenPimms · 05/06/2012 14:34

wow that's one hell of a feeding spree.

i hope she sleeps when she stops! (or does she feed in her sleep too?)

A very cute little nork-seeking missile she is though :)

openerofjars · 05/06/2012 14:46

Just like her daddy...

I remember those days... I sort of stopped having any feeling in my nipple so I'd have to look down occasionally and feel faintly surprised that DS was still latched on and still feeding :o

Poor DH. They need snuggles too or they get a little cranky which isn't terribly helpful if you're feeling stretched too thin because they should be able to cope but somehow, mummy is the glue that holds it all together.

openerofjars · 05/06/2012 16:25

Ooh, I cannot wait for numb nipples! DH is okay: we are all so tired today that it's a bit like soldiers looking after each other in a battle. But nicer, and with more cake.

yes you definitely need cake. cos you are being dinner and pudding...

Jacksmania · 05/06/2012 21:23

And breakfast and lunch...

openerofjars · 07/06/2012 22:46

I just hit my boob with the wardrobe door. I miscalculated due to milk.

Gin please? To go with the cake?

EdgarAllenPimms · 07/06/2012 23:26

ow!

they do get hugely bigger don't they.
Hope Nork-finder general is doing well and letting you get some sleep as well as biscuits...

Jacksmania · 08/06/2012 02:08

Ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow!!!

How's it going otherwise?

openerofjars · 08/06/2012 08:26

She only woke us up once last night. Shock

It's all going really well, she's a very chilled out little girl and her big brother is crazy about her, which is a relief.

The midwife who came out yesterday said something about taking her to a cranial osteopath. Is this basically alternative medicine? She said it because DD was lying with her head to one side. Hmm

Cluffyfunt · 08/06/2012 08:39

Awwwww
Your dd is lovley!
I don't know about cranial osteopaths -only that a friend took her baby to one for colicky/lots of crying and she said it was like magic (she's V sensible and not even a little bit 'woo') sounds like your dd is quite chilled out though and my yongest always used to sleep with her head on the same side. She seems fine for it.
Massive congratulations to the whole Jar family xx

JustFab · 08/06/2012 09:15

Yes, definitely yes, to taking BabyJars to the osteopath. She could have torticullus but with early gentle treatment she should be totally fine.

Thumbwitch · 08/06/2012 09:36

cranial osteopathy is nothing like standard osteopathy- there is no bone cracking, it is very very gentle indeed but helps to relax the muscles and fascia, thereby releasing any tension in your DD's neck that might be pulling it to one side.

After DS was born, his R hand was almost permanently up by his R ear (I think that's where it had been inside) and he was reluctant and whingy when we tried to move it away - but a couple of sessions with the cranial osteopath sorted it out no problem. Doesn't hurt them at all, it's so gentle you can hardly see anything being done but the results are excellent, IME.

JustFab · 08/06/2012 13:26

Hear hear Thumbwitch.

TanteAC · 08/06/2012 15:29

Aw jars I had to name change back to my old one to say congratulations properly - cannot believe I got a tear in my eye about someone I have never met having a lovely little DD.

Good on ya!

And Wine of course xxx

NoWayNoHow · 10/06/2012 20:33

YY to cranial osteopathy - it can do the world of good and can't do any harm, so it's worth doing.

We found out about it because my DS screamed uncontrollably and continuously for 7 weeks until both DH and I were at the end of all our reserves, and all anyone would say to us was, "well, babies cry" Angry . I know I was a first time mum, but even at that early stage, I already knew that babies shouldn't cry like THAT.

Someone recommended cranial osteopathy, and we went for the first session. DS just lay with his head in the osteopath's hands - her movements were so fine that it literally didn't look like anything was going on.

After that one session, he cried a little in the afternoon and then just slept and slept and slept. Woke up the next day, and I thought someone had come into our house and swapped DS for a different child. Apparently, he had recoil compression as the plates of his head had bounced back too tightly when they returned to their place after a particularly voilent ventouse delivery.

If I didn't know better I'd say it was magic! Grin

openerofjars · 12/06/2012 21:19

Tante!

How are you doing? Have a big vat of Wine on me, too.

DD is v gorgeous but today in the space of an hour managed to soak the sofa, me (twice), the changing mat, the other sofa and herself in poo then spew. I am in my last pair of clean trousers that fit and have had two showers already today. But she is also putting on weight like billy-oh and is training up for the Olympics: she can focus on my face, bop Daddy on the nose, roll onto her side and (as we discovered today) shoot poo a metre across a room. Shock

New photos on profile!

Apart from the perfectly normal poosplosions, she seems otherwise disgustingly healthy so we are going to ixnay the cranial osteopathy for the moment.

OP posts:
JustFab · 12/06/2012 21:22

Please keep an eye on her movement.

nickelbarapasaurus · 13/06/2012 12:59

is that her with all that hair? Shock

I gave up on bothering about clean clothes very quickly.
I found that they'd be covered in puke (at least) within a couple of hours.
that's what baby wipes were actually invented for!

openerofjars · 15/06/2012 09:10

You are not kidding! I just bought a hoodie from H&M that I now realise is the exact same colour of regurgitated breast milk.

Yes, she is a terrifically hairy little girl: everywhere she goes we get compliments on her shock of hair! I hope she keeps it but it may just be her first lot.
