The power of Mumsnet...I actually had a reasonable nights sleep!!

Work night out tonight. Bongo's Bingo in Clapham. Not sure what to expect but I wasn't going to turn it down. I'm hoping to find a good balance of doing stuff/doing nothing this year. I get so exhausted, but I don't want to spend the rest of my life on the sofa! This blasted cancer has at least resulted in the reconnection of some old school friendships. Every cloud... sometimes you just have to search a little deeper for the silver lining.

@Earlandmrsgrey Sorry to hear about all the pain. I also get the bone pain from the injections. They start up again for five days starting tomorrow. Boy they’re nasty. Happy to hear about the family getting together. My family wants to do the same but I have my own little “cocoon” and feel anxious outside it. I think I need to let them in. I feel selfish for not doing so.

Apart from pain and some minor swelling to my right foot I'm now all good and ready for another round tomorrow! Foot pain means I'll have to take the Northern Line instead of walking.

My oncology team is confident that they have drugs available for most of the side-effects! I'll start with an anti-histamine infusion to hopefully relieve the filgrastim bone pain.

Spent this last weekend with my eldest son in Sutton watching him do an athletics decathlon. Really proud of him and all his fellow competitors because basically they are all crazy!! Also really grateful to all the volunteers and officials because without them these events just can't take place. A fabulous weekend for us both.

Currently avoiding DH. He has a stinking cold/fever. I'm confined to the bedroom whilst he has his study and the sofa bed. Sometimes we even wave to each other through the window!!

@Earlandmrsgrey Wishing you a bone pain free filgrastim. I take something similar and pharmacist said to take Claritin and Tylenol for pain. Doesn’t work 🤷🏻‍♀️. I hope your dh recovers quickly. Our daughter is a preschool teacher and wears a mask due to the kiddos bugs they bring with them. Often the parents know their kids are sick (even with Covid!!!) and tell the staff after the fact 🤬.

Neutrophils at 4.92 up from 0.92 two weeks ago. No wonder my bones hurt!

@Sbmpp So far no bone pain this round but I'm only 3 injections in. Husband still has a hacking cough so we're still masked up when in the same room. I miss him!!

Steroids are playing with my mind and keeping me awake at night. I need to stop scrolling and purchasing things. There are going to be a lot of deliveries over the next few days. Ooops!

I'm popping into work on Monday to discuss and start the process of actually doing some work. I'm actually a little bit excited about this, some normality perhaps. It will be on a very part-time basis with some home and on-site working and very much led by me.

It's coming up to a year since Gary was evicted. Maybe I'll allow myself a small glass of wine.
