Peachy, I think you need to tell us all about the Cobb.

I accidentally watched the promo video a few days ago. I think I probably need one now dagnamit.

So you need to give us the complete low down.

Did you get the full all singing all dancing set?

What fuel do you use?

Have you really cooked a whole chicken in it? was it a moist bird?

And jacket spuds?

How much can you shove in there?

is it a pita to clean?

How long does it stay hot for, so can you do your fish and then stick some bananas in foil in afterwards?

How high up on your list of essential camping kit is in now?

can you get them in different colours so I can get one to match my tent

Tell me us EVERYTHING.

please

I probably haven't really read the instructions very well, but... do you put water in the moat and then put the foil parcels into the water (or wine!)?

Also Vanilla, did you put the vegetables in before starting to cook your meat or did you lift the non stick thing during the cooking and drop them in the moat?

I did the same as you in terms of cleaning but I picked out the cobble stone with our bbq tongs and put it on the patio! (Maybe that's very dangerous. Dcs weren't around and it was only in the garden, not around tents or anything!)

From what the others say it looks as if the Cobb won't stay pristine but will have that lovely used camping eqipment look. I have found the Lakeland oven cleaner gel stuff amazing on the oven so if I feel very sad as my Cobb gets that bbq look, I might try applying some to it. The istructions point out where it is safe to use oven cleaner and where it isn't so I'll need to watch out for that.

I put my carrots and potatoes in when I started to cook and then added the brocolli later. It was a faff lifting the cover for the veg so I will put it all in at the beginning next time.

We went away this weekend and had a triumphant success with a chicken and some potatoes. Yummy. It rained a little and the Cobb was quite happy on it's own on the ground under the fishing umbrella . We then did sausages, part baked rolls and toasted marshmallows, yummy. I used the roasting rack for everything and will again. I don't think I need the griddle now but I would still like a pan/wok thing I think. I haven't added liquid to the moat yet as I keep putting veg in there.....

Has anyone done rice in the moat? I saw mention of it in the recipe book but no details so don't know how to do it. Chilli and rice would be great if it was a cold camping trip.
