I hope you found me :)

I'd love to stay chez degullion if thats OK. If I don't lower the tone too much. I can do middle class 30 something mum stereotype in Boden to not upset the neighbours - just don't let me out after too much wine and we'll be safe! [grain]. I'll bring cake, wine, and anything else on request!

notwaving did you offer to give lifts from Manchester Piccadill upthread or did I dream that last night? If so can I book a seat in your taxi pretty please? I'll stand outside with a sign saying 'Dave'

YellowDave · 19/09/2011 11:39

Sorry slubber but keep reading your new nn as 'Slobber of Dave'

notwavingjustironing · 19/09/2011 11:46

Yes, I can provide a lift from Piccadilly if Dave will let me sleep at her house with you.

(not with you, obvs, ...)

Any other Lunneners wanting a ride in "Dave's Taxis" ?

I'll only be round the corner at the end of your road if I'm running late.....

notwavingjustironing · 19/09/2011 11:50

Dave makes a good point about the date too.

I was assuming Sat 28th which was why I typed 26th by accident

Have also forgotten that I'm allergic to dogs.

Davenearvenue, PM me and tell me what I'm looking for hotel area wise. I'm assuming not as far down as the Blue Cap? Wink

YellowDave · 19/09/2011 11:51

Cheers notwaving! (notDaving?)

YellowDave · 19/09/2011 11:53

Go outdoors have an end of season camping sale on! Sadly nothing that I really need (other than tents I can't afford) but check it out!

FuntimeDavies · 19/09/2011 11:53

I too would like to avail myself of floor space please, otherwise I'd have to stay sober Shock (get thee behind me Satan) but I could collect anyone from Chester or Wrexham Station en-route.

notwavingjustironing · 19/09/2011 12:08

I can sleep in a house with a dog. Or with Bramble and the birdies. If she will let me.

I make cake.

We could just cater it all ourselves and not go out or order a curry after we've been to the pub for hours

See, January is such a poor month for socialising. How nice will it be to have something to look forward to and by then, any ideas we might have had about "not drinking in January" will have gone to the wall anyway, so we may as well go hard

I must get some work done. This thread is drawing me in.

YellowDave · 19/09/2011 13:28

So is it def 28th then? So I can put it in the diary? Get on with the emails Dave then we can make more firm plans off thread - don't want any nutters from out there piling in and the amount we have been chatting we're bound to be in active threads A LOT

lostindave · 19/09/2011 13:45

Wow, YellowDave actually mentioned camping! [grain]

notwavingjustironing · 19/09/2011 13:50

She's working undercover, Losty. Wink

YellowDave · 19/09/2011 13:50

'Wow, YellowDave actually mentioned camping! [grain]' pmsl GrinGrinGrin

JetLi · 19/09/2011 14:03

Gawd its cold. I've put the bloody heating on.

I've pm'd notwaving about the meet-up. I'll be in the decide at the last minute camp but promise not to inconvenience anyone regarding beds etc. DD2 is currently rolling around on a plate of cheese on toast. This does not bode well for weaning progress Hmm wretched child Wink

ImDaveandsoismywife · 19/09/2011 14:11

Just realised I never actually identified myself [d'oh]

It's lovecat here Blush

If the 28th's a Saturday I will definitely come via my mum's, as the 27th is my mate's birthday so theoretically I can go out drinking in Liverpool on Friday night (unless her DH has boringly arranged something romantic a deux - from past experience this is unlikely but hey...) from hers and then set off for Chester via Merseyrail (I can buy a saveaway and everything!)

[Snurk] @ mention of actual camping... :o

(I suppose we could each bring one of these in a different colour, string bunting between them and circle Slubber's front lawn...)

lostindave · 19/09/2011 14:34

Thanks for the heads up Yellow, there are some brilliant discounts. If anyone has two seconds away from thinking about what they are going to wear in January and have a look at this is it what I would need for EHU and is it as good a bargin as it looks?

notwavingjustironing · 19/09/2011 14:58

Hi Losty

funnily enough I've just bought a similar thing from Amazon.

It was a Sunncamp Roller Mobile Supply Unit. But I paid a similar amount (it reckoned RRP was about £99 - which I wouldn't have paid for). Its much easier to use than the "tower" that they all used to sell.

Actually, its probably easier than the one you've linked to, as in mine, the cable rolls up inside the unit like an extension lead. On the one you've linked to, the cable is still dragging around taking up extra room in your boot. I don't think this link works below, but if you google the product, you'll find it easily enough.

www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/images/B001NPCW4I/ref=dp_image_0?ie=UTF8&n=318949011&s=sports

What a terribly ungrammatical post.

notwavingjustironing · 19/09/2011 14:59

Mine. Not yours. Blush

And yes, it's exactly what you need for EHU in that sense.

lostindave · 19/09/2011 15:14

That looks brilliant, I'll have a look for one. Can't buy anything until I get paid on Friday (for work I did 6 weeks ago but we'll gloss over that) so no impulse purchasing today! Obviously the cable taking up boot space is no longer an issue though, not with my new car and all!

SeaShellsOrDaveTheHairyTrucker · 19/09/2011 15:57

Right, have you lot have been chatty today!

Meet up-28th perfect for me. Dh has just announced his nov conference means he will be away for frigging days, so I'm really glad we have moved it!

I'd love some floor space or a bed, happy with dog or birds. I don't ,ind if we eat in-it could be easier cheaper and we can all bring lots of wine etc and exotic gin (I've done this before Wink)

I may even stay 2 nights and treat myself to a night in the fancy hotel and spa (see comment up post regard dh being away, again, for frigging ages), but that depends on me finding some money

Jetli-I can give you lots of info on Norway DNT for amazing cabins, really cheap if you like walking for days in the wilderness or we have trekked and camped in jotenheimen national park, sognefjord and stolsheimen. We have stayed in little wooden "camping huts" which are v basic but good. Umm...amazing country, expensive, but actually much more reasonable for outdoorsy stuff and avoiding the hotels! Hth

SlubberOfDave · 19/09/2011 16:00

Afternoon

Well I have achieved the square root of bugger all today, not counting playing spies in Sainsbury's with daveschooks.

d2 in trouble on first day back, d1 just thrown toast, jam side down all over the floor, tent still a bit damp and spread eagled all over the table, piles of camping shite all over the shop, the dog stinks of something, I cannot see the garage floor for washing and to top it all off I think I am getting a bastard cold.

But yay meetup seems to be coming on apace (is a pace one or two words?)

If folk are getting twitchy about nosy lurkers can I suggest we move to Off The Beaten Track. Have always a little bit splayed toes about quiche threads in archived topics, that and the thought of my beloved children in 20 years time reading my posts moaning about them dropping toast in 2011 when actually I should have said they are fabulous and I love them a lot [misty eyes]

I am getting a cold.

YellowDave · 19/09/2011 16:07

Seashells I'm LOVING your idea about a night in the posh hotel to make a weekend of it

Slubber pmsl at your and baveschooks playing spies in Sainsburies [grain]. Also amused at the idea of your children discovering your posts in 20 years time - unless your name is really Slubber they would struggle (or, of course Dave, but that would only narrow it down) and I'm willing to bet the price of a night in said posh spa hotel that it isn't!

SlubberOfDave · 19/09/2011 16:08

Sound good SeaShells. We can eat at mine no worries if people want to do that. We have a selection of pubs in the village (one of which almost certainly will be doing a Burns theme +/- whisky), or I'm sure bramble and I can heat up a haggis or seven and mash some neeps should that be the option that is voted in.

or takeaway

or restaurant in town

or outdoor picnic in gortex and fleece as we is hardy.

I am still breezy.
[breezy]

SlubberOfDave · 19/09/2011 16:11

Yellow all they need to do is put 'posts by Slubberdegullion' in the mn search engine and they will instantly have access to the 300,000,000 crib lungs of waffle that I have contributed to this site.

Sometimes I wake up in a cold sweat thinking about it.

Dd1 I love you.
dd2 I love you too.
Dh same again.

Just for the record.

SlubberOfDave · 19/09/2011 16:13

mm will have to name change back for that to be effective.

And what I wonder are crib lungs mr autocorrect? I have no idea what I even typed there to know what it changed it from.
