sorry, my phone ground to a halt on the other thread this morning!

I hope you found me :)

OP posts:
YellowDave · 19/09/2011 08:28

'lostindave' sounds vaguely racy... [grain]

SlubberOfDave · 19/09/2011 08:33

Good luck today Sal. You look just lovely btw, just how I sort of imagined in my head. Great photos of your boy.

Lolol @ ImDaveAndSoIsMyWife. Love a python reference so early in the morning.

So Jan is it. I will delete the date I reserved in Nov. As I went to sleep last night I was pondering what would happen if you all got snowed in over here. Was pondering how long I could feed you for on my current porridge and rice supplies (not long). Will start creating a emergency stash just in case [Safety First].

SlubberOfDave · 19/09/2011 08:36

LostinDave sounds sort of dreamy romantic to me. Like losty is sat looking out on a windswept scene with a photo of a Dave (not Cameron) propped up by the window. There might be a candle.

YellowDave · 19/09/2011 08:37

MisSal thinking of you today too xxx

SeaShellsOrDaveTheHairyTrucker · 19/09/2011 08:55

Since my little darlings kept me up last night I'm too tired to be original, however

It has an honesty about it I like!

MissSal-good luck today :) lovely pics btw!

lostindave · 19/09/2011 09:20

Ha, I couldn't log in for aaaages then as I'd forgotten I'd namechanged, plus I've just realised that the mum I've been talking to in SN is not going to get the joke! That'll teach me to be funny first thing.

I shall bring my own rice/porridge supplies slubber if it will make you happy! Or even use my secret holiday stash and stay in a hotel then you can all come and get snowed in at the bar with me!

lostindave · 19/09/2011 09:21

Oh and good luck MisSal, I am going to have to change my name back so I can look at your lovely boy!

Daveschooks · 19/09/2011 09:56

My dad is dave, aw bless, homage to the line.

We are mouse free. Nissan. (actually typed huzzah but dyac got in and kinda liked it so left it). Praise to the cat. Are any of you worrying about missing a leg if you doss down at mine now? I have plenty of supplies, thanks to the make do and mend and hoarding of grandparents.

Have done the gym so I suppose I must now do some work.

JetLi · 19/09/2011 10:06

Morning

Just having a peaceful Brew whilst DD2 seems to be absorbed in Zingzillas Hmm

Glad the camping shop trip worked out slubber [grain] not sure schnapps and mustard are a good mix before a ferry trip. Repetitive posting on the arsing kindle is reminiscent of spending an afternoon with my Granny with Alzheimers. She likes whisky though. Did you have Sargents ice cream on the ferry and listen to lots of Hull people saying "Perched egg on terst" (Translation = poached egg on toast). I love that ferry - takes about an hour to leave the dock & then another 3 hours to get from Hull to Cleethorpes [grain]. German-esque camping sounds fab and the photos are fab Grin

Holy fuck Sal - £200 for 3 flea bites??? Hope things go OK at work today.

No point soup - did it ever get posted? Is it actually just water? Will be soup tonight I feel. Came home from Ma JetLi's with a box full of leftover Sunday dinner. DP took it out the fridge to get to the yogurt & forgot to put it back in. I fear the only safe thing to do now will be to boil the hell out of it. I shall make bread to go with.

brambles - such cute babies Grin

lost/scaryt - how are the new cars? Grin Windscreen sorted scary?

Yellow - what did you think to The Killing? Felt like a wee bit of an anticlimax at the end - I was sure another twist was coming after episode 19 and it never did. Can't wait for the next series. Lovely phot Grin

Funtime - how's the bum now? Drapolene fans here for sore bots. Metanium schmentanium [grain]

Camping research - had lunch with The Farting Frenchman from the Paris office last week. He did some Scandi-Camping - Norway to be precise. Highly recommended apparently, although we shouldn't call it names as his camping involved a log cabin. However this will now be my next research project - Scandi-Camping. I may also consider Denmark since I am now completely fluent in Danish after 20 hours of Lund & The Killing. Any experiences of Scandi- or Dansk-camping on't thread?

Ada Lovelace sounds cool - I usually have to watch the Christmas science lectures with a hat on in case my head explodes Wink

Meet-up - I'm in Sheffield, but would struggle TBH Sad due to bf DD2 who will not eat. Plus I suspect I am a bit common for Chester Blush

lostindave · 19/09/2011 10:22

JetLi you do a brilliant East Yorkshire accent! That's what I used to sound like when I was little (before my parents packed me off to boarding school and elocution lessons!)

My no point soup (well about 3 points for 3 litres so very very low point soup)
Lots of Veg (yesterday that included courgettes, green beans, carrotts and red cabbage,) and three stock cubes with three litres of water, (I've used, lamb, beef and ham in the past!). I sometimes put tins of tomato in too if I fancy being a bit mediterrainan.
Boil!
The red cabbage makes it a very groovy purple colour that always makes me feel very vituous when I eat it, all the different colours being good for you or some such guff.

Nissan!

lostinwales · 19/09/2011 10:27

Beautiful MisSal, I am going to have to eat a lot more no point soup before January!

lostindave · 19/09/2011 10:31

I'm sticking to this NN for a bit I think! There was a thread over the weekend about people with similar names and another lost came on and commented about me. I was most put out Grin. Fortunately a few people told her I'd been around for a good while and was mildly famous for being a lego eating loon, so I backed quietly off the thread and closed the door.

JetLi · 19/09/2011 10:50

Lost - DP hails from the area, as does Ma JetLi Grin so I am fluent. We have beaten it out of DP over the years but the MIL, BIL, SIL & nice nieces all say "Dernt ner" and it still makes me laugh after 17 years! [grain] thanks for no point soup Grin your boys are lovely!

Sal - am not in your quiche Sad

notwaving - will pm you but may have to participate via video conference/Netmeeting if pie feeding fails Grin Grin

FuntimeDavies · 19/09/2011 10:58
YellowDave · 19/09/2011 11:03

JetLi hello lovely! I think you should be coming in Jan - couldn't you bring your dd2 with you if she won't eat? If the plan seems to be crashing at Slubber and brambles then we could all bring food and eat in for the evening so you can come too? No worries if you wouldn't be happy with this but it would be a shame for you to miss out. Or Sheffield isn't that far so could at least come for the day with your dd? What do you think?

And yes, the killing was an anticlimax. Episode 19 was fab but in the end I just didn't believe the reasons why he did it and don't think he was the right personality to have masterminded all that. Boo hiss. Will still watch the next one though...

notwaving pmsl at your data protection act spiel Grin. If we're not hapy for you to disclose our real names how would it be on the meetup? Wear masks and call us by our MN name? Would be funny though! [grain]

YellowDave · 19/09/2011 11:05

cross psoted funtime - congrats on the weight loss!

Daveschooks · 19/09/2011 11:06

Wanders in eating cheese on toast with lime pickle. Really must do work, but tempted to blacklead the fireplace. Too much downton.

26th Jan is a thurs, which wkend is good? Going to diary it. [chick crumb]

notwavingjustironing · 19/09/2011 11:09

Yellow, that particular part of the terms and conditions is covered in Section 18, subsection b), parts iiv and viii.

I've not had my people look at that yet.

on the other hand, there's not a lot of point going to a meetup in someone's house if you're not actually going to tell them your name. Isn't that called burglary?

Grin

With my sensible head on though, I suppose even with the best will in the world, there might be people who want to bottle it change their minds at the last minute and would prefer not to have "outed" themselves and have the hassle of changing everything on here.

Just being cautious on everyone else's behalf. Think I've watched too much Spooks.

SlubberOfDave · 19/09/2011 11:20

If Dave (notwavingDave) suddenly becomes dangerously ill and is unable to continue the spreadsheet/organisational/MI6 duties I reckon Jet should take over the role. Such devotion you have to reading the thread Jet. I am mightily impressed.

losty there is a veh veh naice country park hotel in the next village along from Dave and me. I shall not take offence much if you would prefer the fluffy white towels and pool and spa facilities if offers over accommodation chez degullion. They would probably have some great weekend deals for that time of year. There is also a slightly less posh chain hotel (also with pool) in staggering distance of us.

Am most flexible to do whatever to allow as many of us to meet up as possible.

Those staying with me will get tea, cake, possibly schnizel and will have to make friends with a dim witted Labrador (or I can get rid of her to my parents if people are not into dogs/allergic).

See I am so BREEZY.

And oi, stop the Chester slagging. It is lovely, apart from race day when outsiders come in and lower the tone.

I think I mentioned I have 4 loos (not a big house but well represented on the lavatory front). I also can provide ropey towels, hand wash and a piano.

There are electrical sockets in each room and tea and coffee making facilities in the kitchen.

SlubberOfDave · 19/09/2011 11:27

I read Tinker, Tailor on holiday. Was excellent. Can't wait to see the film.

FuntimeDavies · 19/09/2011 11:30

Thanks for reminding me about 'Tinker Tailor', dh and I plan to go to the cinema for the first time in 6 or 7 years. I gave away 'The Spy Who Came In From The Cold' for World Book Night and I do love a bit of espionage Grin.
