Gawd, the minimalists will kill us.....

It was Someone Else's idea, all right?

Carry on where you left off, be it owls, bins, sharks, tins of vodka, karaoke etc. [grain]

Add me to the list of zero tolerance parenting Grin

Anyone heard of Joyce Grenfell? If so, "Don't do that, George" said in a benign you don't have to stop really darling if you don't want to voice.

For the record, that's not me. Mine didn't go swimming last week for a similar 'crime' Losty .

Talks to self. "did you enjoy Strictly then " "yes it was great. Anton didn't get Edwina and the relief on his face was palpable".

lostinwales · 10/09/2011 22:07

Sorry, would join in but family geek are only interested in Dr Who.

notwavingjustironing · 10/09/2011 22:16

Hello Losty. Have you been wild swimming lately ?

OP posts:
lostinwales · 10/09/2011 22:16

Plus I'm a little bit squiffy after Wine early on. Am I having a 'moment' or did Edwina have a affair with John Major? Envy that's me feeling a bit sick BTW.

lostinwales · 10/09/2011 22:20

No swimming since Wednesday and the wild cold sea. My friend went past in the lifeboat on his training that evening and tells me there were about 20 seals around us as we swam, so glad I didn't know! We are trying to organise another river swim before it gets too cold.

YellowDinosaur · 10/09/2011 22:47

sorry notwaving can't gossip about strictly! xfactor and bb only in this house! Grin

notwavingjustironing · 10/09/2011 23:04

Yes sorry lovely Losty she did do the deed with John Boy, I'm not sure he was proud of it understatement

OP posts:
YellowDinosaur · 10/09/2011 23:09

Not entirely sure she'd be too proud of it either - not exactly hot stuff is he? Grin

brambleschooks · 11/09/2011 08:38

Ew ew ew ew I am still traumatised by that!

Very lovely day but chilly. hoping all this weather is out of the way before slubber starts her journey home.

Looking forwards to watching strictly on sky plus later. [grain]

Slubberdegullion · 11/09/2011 09:09

many thnaks for the kind airdrop thoughts but its all going to be OK.
we are passing zurich as I type winging our way back northwards towrads basel and frieburg.
soon we will be back in deutchland where the wild bachaalian beer swigging and porking can recommence.
hurrah

Slubberdegullion · 11/09/2011 09:12

im so having a big schnitzel tonight

lostinwales · 11/09/2011 09:22

she said big schnitzel [grain]

How are the death socks holding up slubber? Enjoy your beer and porking.

Funtimewincies · 11/09/2011 11:55

Hope that the schnitzel lived up to expectations Slubber! childish Grin

is the marvellous Joyce. I'm a Primary teacher (SAHM at the moment) and I've definitely been guilty of 'doing a Joyce' (although a much less fluffy one) as an alternative to throttling Blush.
brambleschooks · 11/09/2011 12:41

I love Joyce. I do it all the time at work.

Think we should film slubber as a new version of carry on camping.

Battening down everything outside. It's a bit windy.

Chicks out in the covered ru n with Sheila. So cute!

SeaShellsInTheMoonlight · 11/09/2011 20:11

I hope no of you get blown away tonight! It's been really windy down here today already-pretty extraordinary weather we have had this summer...

Anyway, just watching Becoming Jane-really not sure what I think of Anne Hathaway Confused

lostinwales · 11/09/2011 20:34

Am I alone in thinking it will be really disappointing if I don't get a decent bit of windy storminess now? It's been so hyped I quite fancy a bit of a storm!

I just made the mistake of going out into main MN for today, it's still completely barking out there, flouncing, fighting and lots of deleted messages. There are still some witty little threads out there but I'm glad I've got my little camping haven [grain]

How are the thread chicks doing today brambles? I hope you've got them weighted down! Slubbers chunneling it back isn't she? Wouldn't fancy a ferry in the north sea any time soon.

I hope MisSal is having a lovely time away, can't wait to hear about people who are actually getting to camp!

brambleschooks · 11/09/2011 21:24

Thread chicks bimbling around sweetly, starting to climb all over valiant mummy. Tucked safely in for the night with the door very shut. Can the wind avoid my garden please?

I hope slubber is chunnelling it, she needs a spot of luxe at the end of the trip. I fully expect her to sleep out in the garden now.

scaryt · 11/09/2011 21:37

We spent Friday night at our caravan in the woods (I know not really camping) but it was great, like an extension of the summer holiday. We were toasting marshmallows on the cobb til dark. Lovely.

However started reading Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol. Holy cow, was so traumatised read till quarter to 3 last night and finished it today. Can't have all that swirling round my head whilst teaching littles (with a very Joyce like manner [wonk]). Was very good though.

Hope Sal's having a great time.

I too sniggered at the thought of Subber and a big schnitzel. I don't get out much.

lostinwales · 12/09/2011 09:34

Morning, I am mostly putting off doing my homework by wandering round MN. , should have known I would find a fellow camper in the weather section, wanted to put [grain] but was scared that would sound (look?) a bit quichey so you got a Grin instead!

scaryt your evening in the caravan sounds brilliant, I am very jealous. Marshmallows on the cobb, you're just being mean posting that!

I'm starting to think that my 'wild swimming' and camping fun is over for the year, sob. It's not so much the (really grim) weather forecasts but the boys are getting signed up for football tournaments and cycling club and suddenly all the weekends and evenings are taken up ferrying them around. Still at least I'll have a lovely new car to do it in Smile.

SeaShellsInTheMoonlight · 12/09/2011 09:35

I hope no one, especially small fluffy cute chicks, got blown away last night! We have had a windy and wet night down here but wales and the north seem to be getting the worst of it.

Scaryt-a caravan sounds like a good plan at this time of year, glad you had good night-a good break after your first week back :)

Right, best stop eating cake and get to work...

SeaShellsInTheMoonlight · 12/09/2011 09:36

Xpost lost :) I'm off to the weather section next-oybbk oracle needs to be consulted [grain]

lostinwales · 12/09/2011 09:39

I have a little crush on OYBBK, sigh, see you in the weather section!
