Gawd, the minimalists will kill us.....

It was Someone Else's idea, all right?

Carry on where you left off, be it owls, bins, sharks, tins of vodka, karaoke etc. [grain]

More chicks. There are a multitude of wriggly fluffy things when I put my hand under Sheila. 5 or 6 eggs still to get going, one chick just hatched, hoping it will make it but will know once I get back from work as it's looking as if it's struggling a bit. Will need to pitch my windbreak to help protect them from gusts. Going to revise my guying.

lostinwales · 07/09/2011 11:34

Hatching chickens and guy ropes, oh it can't get any better! I am supposed to be doing my maths homework but I couldn't resist checking in. What time are you working from/until so I know when to check back bramble?

Slubberdegullion · 07/09/2011 12:08

Hurrah for the new arrivals. Is most bizarre reading about my neighbours chickens as I am sat here looking at a fuck off big mountain. Many soils for blasphemy. 'twas the quadruple kindle posting that did it. Site has wifi natch and have been granted short time on the holy iPhone. Dds ( both very blonde and well female ) have been at the loos for 20 mins now where they are problaly watching the jungle book on the sink snazzy screens. This morning I washed up to greenskeeves on the Peruvian pan pipes.

Slubberdegullion · 07/09/2011 12:14

APOLS not soils stupid arsing autocorrect.

No soiling here. Bowels all functioning perfectly. The loos are so nice. Sound insulated with AstroTurf.

ReshapeWhileDamp · 07/09/2011 14:18

Grin at soiling.

MisSalLaneous · 07/09/2011 14:33

Gah, stupid Safari crashed before I pressed post. Hate when that happens.

Brilliant news re chicks, sorry about the little one that didn't make it. Sad Nature, I guess.

Slubber, for a moment there I thought you meant that the big mountain is fertile soil for blasphemy - thought we're in for a exciting rough couple of days! I know I shouldn't, but you know what? That campsite sounds lovely. What's not to like - you have beautiful nature, good beer and a warm shower. And since no-one on the Continent seems to allow fires anyway, that sounds perfect.

Well, ds's first morning at nursery went well. I did look at him whilst standing there with his little school bookbag and felt all soppy for a moment. He did make me laugh though. When we got to school, he introduced himself as "Fred". His name is not Fred, not even remotely similar. Heaven knows what that's about. Agent Undercover. Ofstead taking drastic measures.

Good news is that all bar the bank manager have ok'd Hong Kong (two weeks, not 3 months sadly). Have decided to ignore the bank manager. What he doesn't know until the credit card bill arrives won't hurt him. Head of nursery was lovely about it. Off to book tickets before anyone changes their minds.

Slubberdegullion · 07/09/2011 15:11

Slubberdegullion · 07/09/2011 15:20

aw Sal. loving all these fist day at school and name lable stories. Site is pretty awesome. we are sat in the panoramic outdoor lounge drinking beer eating prinles and helping the girls with maths workbooks. dh and i discussed selling the house and becoming in tent touring home schoolers

Slubberdegullion · 07/09/2011 15:27

MisSalLaneous · 07/09/2011 15:27

Sounds heaven Slubber. Weather here horrid, I'd stay there for another 6 months if I were you!

notwaving, no, I saw that too. Always a shame if things fall through, especially places like that where you have to book ages in advance. Hopefully (if weather improves I guess) someone can use her booking.

MisSalLaneous · 07/09/2011 15:30

Grin Slubber, just have to say again, these adventures of yours sound fantastic. Makes me laugh and sit here jealously in equal parts.

Funtimewincies · 07/09/2011 15:41

Grin at 'Fred'. Nowt wrong with a bit of reinvention Grin.

Envy at Hong Kong, hope it comes off.

Hooray to the successfully hatched chicks and waves to Slubber kindle yodelling over on forrin mountains. Did you say astro-turf in the toilets Shock? Oh I miss Eurotrash Smile.

MisSalLaneous · 07/09/2011 16:04

Thanks Funtime. Well, non-refundable tickets bought, so Hong Kong it'll be. Can't wait. I'm like this over Christmas too, which is why I refuse to buy any gifts before mid December. The one year that I decided I needed to be more organised, I handed out everything bought before November, meaning I had to do another last-minute buy anyway. Hmm

notwavingjustironing · 07/09/2011 16:47

The name's Fred. Fred SalLaneous

Its got a nice ring to it. Shall I see if I can find him a personalised numberplate?

Hi Slubber - looks primly at you drinking beer even if you are an hour ahead...

Bet this thread is more fun to read than anything you might have downloaded on the Kindle.

I want to see some fluffy chicks now please Bramble. Can you take some pics when you've finished work got home, made the dinner, put the dcs's to bed, prepped for tomorrow

Yay for Sal and the Honkers trip.

Hello to everyone else. I've actually worked really hard today!

Off to the Big Smoke tomorrow (that's London, not some trendy new festival)

OP posts:
MisSalLaneous · 07/09/2011 16:56

Grin notwaving. Well, personalised numberplates might come in handy seeing that the name badges haven't turned up yet...

Hope you have a quiet evening. Work or play in Big Smoke tomorrow?

notwavingjustironing · 07/09/2011 16:59

Work. But its always a nice day. I get two hours to read on the train, a couple of useful meetings, usually get a nice lunch, then a couple of hours home again with another book.

Bliss.

OP posts:
MisSalLaneous · 07/09/2011 17:06

Ah nice! Technically I can read 20 mins on the train every day, but it's just not the same having to stop and start. Proper reading time sounds bliss. Have a safe trip.

Funtimewincies · 07/09/2011 17:20

Please tie me down with delta pegs before I can do any more damage! Will I never learn?

notwavingjustironing · 07/09/2011 17:27

They are all properly crackers out there. I ventured out to lurk this afternoon, and reading some of the threads they just fight about nothing.

Its the same old crap, endlessly recycled. I tell you, I won't be venturing out of the campsite any time soon.

They could tear this thread to pieces in a heartbeat. If we let them. Which we wouldn't.

Funtimewincies · 07/09/2011 17:33

Is it too early for booze Hmm?

MisSalLaneous · 07/09/2011 17:38
MisSalLaneous · 07/09/2011 17:43

And no, never too early for booze - Slubber gave the ok hours ago.

Slugging back the crabbies. All this birth n stuff is killing mr. That and statistics with the head this afternoon too.
We have around nine alive right now. Plus one who I don't want to guarantee as it was a bit ropey coming out of the egg. Dh is going to look under the hen later. One last egg to hatch, but it's late and it's siblings are fluffing up well. Think it might have run out of steam and it hasn't made a hole in the shell so we can't help it.
It is persisting down outside.
Waving to slubbers mountainous regions.
Stands in front of funtime waving serious sheet dyslexia assessment at all those attempting to come at her. You will do a spelling test if you come any closer.
