Gawd, the minimalists will kill us.....

It was Someone Else's idea, all right?

Carry on where you left off, be it owls, bins, sharks, tins of vodka, karaoke etc. [grain]

Hi there!

Boys in bed (and have been since 18.50 - result!!!) Ds1 is very very tired after his first week of being a big boy in year 1. Ds2seems pretty tired too. Dh away for the weekend so it was pretty timely! I have a friend coming over for dinner and wine at 8pm so means I have time to chat to my imaginary friends in the computer as well as having all the food ready! All good!

notwaving I think its through'mymumsnet' which is one of the options on the blue bar above - in the middle. I'll have a proper look in a min btu wanted to make sure I had time to say hello before my friend pitched up!

YellowDinosaur · 09/09/2011 19:52

Yep - 'MyMumsnet', login as instructed, then hit the link to 'Share photos'. Jobs a good 'un

brambleschooks · 09/09/2011 20:14

Mine have been banned from computers and as a result have set up a nerf gun war zone in my house. It is like being back to the days of mad toddlers.

Do you know we are due gales on Monday? Tail end of the hurricane. Might have to bring the chicks inside the house (with broody in cat box). Will try advanced guying techniques and a bale of straw too!

lostinwales · 10/09/2011 10:14

Morning! Well this weekend was one we had penciled in for a cheeky last camp of the year, nevermind. The forecast here is rain, rain, possibility of 30 mins sunshine on Sunday, then rain and gale force winds for a couple of days, lovely. We are going to see Cars at the cinema and that's about it. Ho hum. I think I'm going to make the most of the time inside and go and do my maths homework, not quite the weekend I was hoping for!

YellowDinosaur · 10/09/2011 10:18

Where are you all? Please don't tell me you have got real lives too - I'll feel left out!!!

Brambles hope your chicks don't get blown away. How old are your 2? Just so I know how much longer the charging and fighting will continue! (obviously forever I would presume Grin)

Watching the rugby here and trying to persuade the boys that this is proper sport compared to the football their dad loves. Englands performance probably not helping my argument!

Trying to be sensible too and not take boys camping tonight for what is probably our last chance to try my new tent this year! We're all knackered (especially ds1) and a thundery shower is forecast for 7pm plus rain from relatively early tomorrow although that is less of a concern as we'd have to be up and out early as I have booked tickets to see Cars 2 at 10.55. All common sense says DON'T DO IT!!! But the petulant me shouts 'BUT I WANT TO!!' in true toddler stylee

We'll see...

YellowDinosaur · 10/09/2011 10:20

cross posted losty! Hello! Sounds like our weekends include similar camping dilemmas although you are being sensible and cars at the cinema! Enjoy x

lostinwales · 10/09/2011 10:31

Very similar weekends except as our forecast involves a weather warning we aren't even thinking about camping, actually don't you have one in the NE for one tomorrow too? No sorry, that's Monday, ignore me. You may actually have sunshine tomorrow morning Envy

We have lots of rugby involved shouting at the TV in our house too but I think we may be supporting different team Blush

notwavingjustironing · 10/09/2011 11:33

Hello all, thanks for the advice. I'll try to get round to doing something this weekend.

Yellow, it was HOT here yesterday afternoon. I was very cross that I wasn't in a tent too. Grin

Although today has that Autumny blowy feel to it - which is great for going out walking in, less so for putting up a wet tent.

I had a "doing" day yesterday, sorted out loads of clothes for charity bags, parcelled up coathangers to be recycled, got loads of other stuff for the charity shop, chucked a load of things out, and counted everything in the loose change jar. I was pleasantly surprised to see it amounted to over £100. Good job DH keeps putting 50ps and 20ps in - I only put 5ps and copper in!

Taking the boys swimming today, have made chilli for their lunch, and booked tickets for Horrible Histories in November. Ruthless Romans in case you're interested. The HH Prom last night was amazing - it's on tomorrow morning on CBBC at 10.00 am if any of you have HH mad dcs like I have.

Right, off to make some GF choc brownies now and polish my halo. Have a great day - hope the chickies don't get blown away.

God my children are as revolting as the weather! DS2 has punched DS1 in the nose in an altercation involving tidying up lego. So DS1 is crying. We have had to tell DS2 that he cannot go to the cinema as punching your brother in the nose is not acceptable. So DS2 is crying. DS3 is 4. So DS3 is crying. I am trying to get my maths course finished. So I am nearly crying. I might just go and pitch my tent somewhere anyway, the wind can't be as bad as it is here. Wink

Cries. Sad

Ladies ladies Brew all round :)

I've been working this morning, really busy sinshattered now. Ds1 is watching a bugs life for the hundredth time and dd2 is napping, although she has other ideas!

So soulpad are selling off this year's rentals, but 100£ off is not much considering some are broken and all have been used quite a bit-no warrantee either. Dh is suggesting a new bell tent next year instead. Question-would you camp one for longer than a weekend?

Slubberdegullion · 10/09/2011 15:11

guten abent von liechenstein
boiling hot here in the alps. am dosing up on the uv before we start heading north tomorrow..
so liechtenstein is basically a valley betwixt some hard core moutains. a road. a load of banks. a few cows. and this here campsite. and everything costs a fortune.
sorry to hear about shitola weather and cancelled camping.
hope sals weather is ok

Slubberdegullion · 10/09/2011 15:14

an i have not consumed a drop of booze for over twenty four hours as it is TOO EXPENSIVE. pork neither.

lostinwales · 10/09/2011 16:30

Sorry notwaving, here you can have it back now, didn't fit properly anyway.

Marking down in my big book of camping 'Avoid Lichtenstein, pork products and alcohol too expensive'

YellowDinosaur · 10/09/2011 17:43

losty there must be something in the air as my boys are being little shits taxing too. Grrr!!!! We have been to a fab interactive museum this pm which was totally their choice (I wanted to go to soft play so I could sit on my arse and drink coffee [grain]) and they moaned and ignored me the whole time. Now they are moving the toys from side to side 'tidying' and thankfully I think SOME toys are actually being put away after I lost my rag Grin

Bring on bedtime, wine and x-factor!

YellowDinosaur · 10/09/2011 17:45

And camping definately off because even if the weather was great (it isn't) the thought of the next 16 hours being stuck in a confined space with these 2 makes me want to slash my wrists!

YellowDinosaur · 10/09/2011 17:48

Feeling guilty not because while I have been bitching about my children on here (I am cooking tea too if that makes it any better) they have tidied up the whole playroom. About time!!! I'll go and put my 'nice mummy' mask on now!

lostinwales · 10/09/2011 17:51

So good to know I am not alone in looking pointedly at the clock to see if it's wine time yet!

notwavingjustironing · 10/09/2011 18:26

I'm nursing a glass whilst perusing a curry menu and salivating at the thought of Strictly! and X-Factor

OP posts:
Funtimewincies · 10/09/2011 18:58

I've recorded Strictly Blush. My defence is that I've taken up dancing this year and I'd like to see whether it looks any easier now that I've have a vague idea what I'm doing Grin.

Should we arrange an emergency air drop into Lichtenstein? I'm very concerned about Slubber. If her blood alcohol levels drop completely to zero, it may spark an international incident!

I also salute your stand about the cinema. Too much 'don't do that darling' about these days [grin and matronly sniff].

lostinwales · 10/09/2011 19:19

I started at about 6.30, a tad early but it is Saturday. Peace is now restored and we are all waiting for Dr Who to start.

YY to an airdrop of booze and pork products for slubber, this could be terrible

brambleschooks · 10/09/2011 19:59

Yy too to airdrop and porking in Lichtenstein.

Cildren, meh! Took ours out today to fab Matisse exhibitin and tall ships/air show. They were fab as younger kids but have started fighting now they are teen and pre teen. I blame the hormones. They are now in nerf war phase two.

Houdini chick escaped from the run twice. Second time whilst we were out and we found it peeping frantically from inside the big girls' run. They were backing off shiftily with looks that ranged between 'what is it?' to'you int seen me roight'. I need to check the run Again for escape holes. The windbreak blew over in the absence of delta pegs, so I've taken it down and will probably confine chicks to quarters when the worst blows in. Not looking forwards to the next couple of days weatherwise. Good call about camping - spend the saved petrol money and site fees on booze.

YellowDinosaur · 10/09/2011 20:12

I now have wine, boys have been in bed for an hour and all is once again well with the world! Actually I thin kds1 is a bit under the weather. He isn't generally too much of a wingey kid, unlike his brother, and seems very tired and not quite himself. We'll see.

brambles good to see that your escape artist survived his valiant attempt!

funtimes I totally agree on lax discipline getting on my tits! Especially 'those parents' who do the 'Ooh no we believe in no'. They definately need a slap.

Strictly is not for me. No idea why really since I watch pretty much every other reality programme on tv but just ever got into it.

brambleschooks · 10/09/2011 20:20

In honour of valiant baking up there, I have made two dozen gf vanilla cupcakes and am planning a big banana loaf in the morning. [toothy grain]
