Gawd, the minimalists will kill us.....

It was Someone Else's idea, all right?

Carry on where you left off, be it owls, bins, sharks, tins of vodka, karaoke etc. [grain]

Will sort out photos ASAP. They are quite hard to see at the moment, hopefully I'll get some goodies when she leads them out of the eglu tomorrow to eat. [grain]. Grain/chick crumb. [chick crumb]

lostinwales · 07/09/2011 19:30

, looks menacing. I actually went on AIBU earlier, I don't know why, I daren't go back and see if anyone was mean to me after I posted.

Ooh, DH has just said food time, I'll be back with my Wine in a minute.

Could someone start a campfire for when I get back, I've just been swimming in the sea and I'm freezing.

SeaShellsInTheMoonlight · 07/09/2011 19:53

I'm telling you, its full of crazies out there! The zombie chickens have nothing on the inhabitants of aibu...

YellowDinosaur · 07/09/2011 20:06

Big smiles and lovely warm fuzzy feeling at chicks Smile

Pmsl at Fred Salaneous and his cherish plates Grin[grain]

I like AIBU. For sure there are some twats out there but it amuses me. Especially when I can retire here when it all gets too much! I'll stick up for you lot - I'm well hard me (all 5ft nothing!!)

Busy day at work today pretending to be losty doing ultrasound scans! Lovely homecoming though to dh and both boys smiling and each holding a big bunch of flowers for me! Dh insists he hasn't done anything bad and doesn't want anything either! I love them all! Off to watch the killing now with dinner so prob won't be on much till tomorrow.

5ofus · 07/09/2011 20:18

I'm here and ready to defend camping. They're all mad out there...

lostinwales · 07/09/2011 20:44

Cheers SeaShells, was fantastic fun in the sea tonight, huge waves and a 5 of my insane friends but I'm chilled to the bone now, I might have to invest in a wetsuit one of these days. Pulling my camping chair up to the fire and toasting a marshmallow, oof lovelly [grain]

Slubber we were planning jacking it all in selling up and just camping our way around the world. Do you want to join up, DH is a primary school teacher and I am relatively medically handy, your camping knowledge would be invaluble. We could go off grid and follow the sun. (man!)

I love ultrasound Yellow, I wanted to be a sonographer when I grew up but I had too many DS for it to be practical to do the course, might still do it when I really grow up one day, there's lots of horrible physics though which I don't really fancy. You must be truly fab to arrived home to flowers like that or DH has really cocked up somewhere and is too scared to tell you Grin

brambleschooks · 07/09/2011 22:08

I'll join you. I'll provide the eggs. [grain]

think there's a pic on the profile. had a few issues getting one on but will try some more tomorrow when they're fluffier (if that is at all possible!)

scaryt · 07/09/2011 22:15

awwww adorable bramble, you must be so proud!

lost - let me get this quite clear, you went swimming in the sea in an ordinary swimming costume ? You are proper hardy. I bow down before you no wonder you are bloomin cold !

lostinwales · 07/09/2011 22:26

Aww brambles best live birth thread ever! Can't believe she'll lead them out for some food tomorrow, we humans are so slow. [chick crumb]

I always go swimming in an ordinary swimming costume I can't do front crawl nicely in a wetsuit and I look like a ball of liquorice on a stick, I just strayed in too long tonight because the waves were too much fun, I'm toasty warm now and all heavy lidded with proper tiredness, lovely.

Can we stand down axe watch now? Mine's getting too heavy and I can't lift my Wine

scaryt · 07/09/2011 22:31

Seriously, lost, think you're my new hero.

How could I forget laughing to "My name's Fred. Fred Salaneous."

brambleschooks · 07/09/2011 22:37

Lordy, I should never have looked out there. Just browsing Aibu titles made me come all unnecessary. What on earth is going on out there? The world has gone entirely mad.

Hoping my little cheeps are cuddled up under Sheila and that the last one makes it out ok overnight. (& that the weak one is ok after a good rest)

Resisting the urge to gather them all up in a sling and co sleep.

brambleschooks · 07/09/2011 22:38

Lost, you are hardcore. Are you secretly dVid walliams?

MisSalLaneous · 07/09/2011 23:19

Wine to the lovely bramble-chicks. Following this and seeing them start a new life has me all warm and fuzzy and happy. :)

Lost, if it's ok with you, we'll all put our axes down and use you as our Scarer-offer (technical term). Should anyone try to invade, just mention your adventures and they'll run off screaming. Clearly this mad Welsh lady is not to be messed with! In return, we'll ply you with wine.

Off to bed now. Good night if anyone is still around.

brambleschooks · 08/09/2011 07:16

Ten chicks. How on earth am I going to chick led wean these? One of them fell in his breakfast ramekin of water and almost drowned. Must source chick friendly jam jar lids and fast. Call the wi swat team.

Bins day. I miss slubber.

SeaShellsInTheMoonlight · 08/09/2011 07:19

Gorgeous chicks, Bramble-as others have said, best live birth thread, ever Grin [chick crumb]

YellowDinosaur · 08/09/2011 08:02

The chicks are very cute!

Lost I'm hoping that I am in fact wonderful and dh has not been a naughty boy! He says so Smile. You are f*cking crazy very hardy to be swimming in the sea witout a wetsuit in September! In my wild and crazy student days I did swim in the North sea in similar circumstances but think I am probably far too much of a wimp now!

Well a nice and calm (hopefully!!) day with ds2 while ds1 is at school. May even get the chance to log on here from time to time!

Slubberdegullion · 08/09/2011 08:29

losty and bramble you are on.
posting neath tarp

lostinwales · 08/09/2011 08:36

Last time I looked David Walliams was wearing a wetsuit, pah. Actually I've got quite sore shoulders this morning [not so hardcore emoticon]. The sea is a lot warmer in September than it was in June when we started and IIRC it was raining then too.

Brambles how are the thread babies this morning, I will collect up jam jar lids and send them to you ASAP if you want, I will even drive over with them if it's desperate! We can't have anymore near drowining moments. I forget you and slubber are neighbours, I'm jealous of both of you! How is blubby and the ping pong balls, can you just pop a couple of chicks under her when she (and the zombie birds) aren't looking?

Sigh, I've just had to do 'reading' with DS3, we don't normally start this early in Wales but he did his big puppy eyes at his teacher and she gave him a book. It's all about attention from me as the other two do homework and reading after school whilst he jumps up and down trying to get a little bit of time for him. Man it's painful teaching a four year old, is this what the rest of you have to do?

northender · 08/09/2011 09:48

Well, I haven't posted for a few days and it's all been happening and just a bit difficult to followGrin. 10chicks brambles, congratulations!
lost, I'm Envy of yesterday's venture into the sea and the new Skoda. Dh and I always try to do a late in the year sea swim, last year was Abersoch in October but this year I don't think we're going to get the opportunity. Our local sea I'd be reluctant even to paddle in tbhSad.
Sal Hong Kong sounds exciting
As always I'm glad to get to Thursday as I don't work although has been quite a good week at work so far, patients getting better always helps! Off today to buy new mobile phones for dh and I which is very exciting as even 6 year old dd thinks our current devices may have come out of the arkGrin. Am determined not to be talked into something we don't actually want or need by a pushy salesman with verbal diarrhoea. Will report back later. Also going for my second session of laser for facial hair removal. Results so far have been fab so fingers crossed.
Have a good day everyone.

brambleschooks · 08/09/2011 11:11

9 chicks :(. Bawls eyes out. Stiff upper lip.

We have jam jar lids thanks to my copioushoarding organisational skills.

Chick led weaning is ongoing. Complicated by the older feistier chicks standing in their food lid cheeping confusedly. Sheila has been lifted out and has done broody poo (was worried she'd soil the nest). It is bigger and smellier than dog poo.

Blubby is now locked out of her nest box so that the broody haze will pass and she can pick up some condition again by eating and exercising.

I had to take her eggs away as the others would have killed them. If Sheila suddenly went mental I could put the day olds under bluebell, but she would have to hear the cheeping first to switch her instincts from kill to nurture. Anything over a day old though and I'll have to borrow the neighbours tortoise heat lamp!

Am going to stare at them again. They are so cute.

notwavingjustironing · 08/09/2011 14:42

Awww how lovely and Sad for the one that didn't make it. One thing though, how do you Know all this stuff about chooks? How long have you kept them for?
