1200 calories a day = 28" waist Levi's 501

Hi I am starting today to eat 1200 calories a day. I'm 5'8 and currently weigh 13st. I lost 6st 2 years ago and reached 10st. Unfortunately life/work got in the way and I took my eye of the ball and regained. I did calorie counting before and it worked, so I am trying again.

I'm hoping to fit into my beloved 28 Waist Levi's 501 jeans. I treated myself to a pair, once I'd slimmed down. I want to wear them again.

I’ve got a pair of jeans and a couple dresses but mostly I’ve been this size for a long time now as if I put on a few pounds I am strict with myself and get back to this size and then become like ‘meh, good enough!’

Not this time!

Batqueen · 16/05/2020 19:40

Just about to go for a walk as I’ve done sweet f all today!

lou967 · 16/05/2020 19:40

I need to be strict once I'm at target. :)

Feeling hungry again. Any tips? I've drunk water and tea. Maybe my body adjusting to fewer calories?

Watch something on TV, read a book or have a bath. In the time it has taking for me to post you would have eaten whatever. Sometimes I look at my watch and in 10 minutes I just tell myself I've actually eaten whatever I was craving (even though I haven't).

lou967 · 16/05/2020 20:03

I havent eaten @veryvery I've been staring at my jeans.

Hi guys, just read the thread and would live to join. I am 5 7’ and 11 stone, so frustrated with myself for putting in over a stone in the last 6 months.

Calorie counting as worked for me in the past so very keen to join you!

lou967 · 16/05/2020 20:09

@bringonspring you can do it. I wish I was 11st now.

Thank you lou967 it was a real eye opener when I stood on the scales. I want to be able to just order size 10 again!!

lou967 · 16/05/2020 20:14

@bringonspring Keeping it off is the hard bit.

Size 10 you will be. Anything you want to fit back into?

JourneyToThePlacentaOfTheEarth · 16/05/2020 20:19

Hi all. Can I join pls? I'm 11 stone 10, I've put on 11 pounds and want to lose them. Target being 10 stone 13. I'm 5 foot 4. Any thinner and i start looking really old in the face. I lost 2 lockdown pounds and now I'm stuck. I've bought a Fitbit and I'm using mfp. But this weekend is a special celebration so have had 2 curries Blush

lou967 · 16/05/2020 20:21

You will fit back into them all. I know you can do it. Are they designer? If so that should motivate you more! (well its working for me) :)

No, just meant if you had eaten it it would be gone by now!Grin In that situation I just pretend I have eaten it!(even though I haven't).

lou967 · 16/05/2020 20:33

Ah I see what you mean Grin

JourneyToThePlacentaOfTheEarth · 16/05/2020 20:36

Thank you OP and best of luck to you too. I lost 2 stones in 2014 using mfp so it's definitely possible. But being older doesn't help

lou967 · 16/05/2020 22:30

@JourneyToThePlacentaOfTheEarth it works as long as you're in the right mindset. Any other goals?

Meal planning for tomorrow. I think I need to stop thinking about food. I can see now why I regained the weight. I love eating

So today went well for me, although was 42 cal over according to my fitness pal.
I've reduced the size of my plate and found that helps. I've also found that if I have a big breakfast that I don't want to snack.
Tomorrow I've planned a sort the house of do some painting day, so I'll be busy do not thinking about going into the fridge every 5 minutes.
I've also got my spin bike back out and have downloaded the couch to 5k app to get back into running.
I'll also find the tape measure tomorrow and measure my waist I'll buy some scales too soon as I usually get weighed at the gym

Bringonspring · 17/05/2020 08:28

Ok so new day new start, going to start with a run now!

lou967 · 17/05/2020 09:41

@anothermansmother good idea about the plate size. I may start using a side plate rather than a dinner plate

OP posts:
lou967 · 17/05/2020 09:42

@Bringonspring you have got this! Keep it up. I couldn't run to save my life. Hoping one day I can.

Hello, can I join too! I lost almost 3 stone last year on slimming world and then have managed to put 2 back on since last summer - 1 of that was due to work stresses and the last stone has been since lockdown! I'm 5,5 and currently 12.11 and would love to get down to 11.7 to start with. At my lowest last year I was 10.12 and felt amazing but found it very hard to maintain! Have lots of lovely summer dresses that look awful but I know at 11.7 they would be great again . Not that I have anywhere to go! Smile

lou967 · 17/05/2020 09:58

@asilikeit sure. Welcome to the thread. Lets get those dresses fitting :) You can do it.
