1200 calories a day = 28" waist Levi's 501

Hi I am starting today to eat 1200 calories a day. I'm 5'8 and currently weigh 13st. I lost 6st 2 years ago and reached 10st. Unfortunately life/work got in the way and I took my eye of the ball and regained. I did calorie counting before and it worked, so I am trying again.

I'm hoping to fit into my beloved 28 Waist Levi's 501 jeans. I treated myself to a pair, once I'd slimmed down. I want to wear them again.

Ah a fellow latte lover, welcome Smile
I hate to lower the tone of this thread fellow shape shifters but my digestion is a bit sluggish if you catch my drift.
I can't understand it, I've eaten more broccoli than I thought possible and upped my fibre generally.
I'm presuming that as I've dramatically cut the quantity of food I'm eating, that must be the cause?

YinMnBlue · 22/05/2020 09:28

I seem to be half a Kilo down.

Much better yesterday: no ice cream, only 1 plain cracker, a rather basic dinner of 3 fish fingers (180 cals), a potato cooked as dry roasted wedges, pile of green beans and some peas.

I felt hungry by 3pm, so had some water and went for a walk for about an hour and a half, taking cold water with me.

Came back and had a can of no-alcohol beer (70 cals) and 1 cracker (30 cals) which kept me happy til dinner.

I need to keep increasing my exercise and get my metabolism speeded up. I should join my son in some weight training; muscle burns cals faster than fat, apparently.

EvenPhilip: hi!

Make sure you drink a lot, and include sources of soluble fibre alongside insoluble (e.g oats, lentils, potatoes)

ageingdisgracefully · 22/05/2020 11:24

My Levi's have come.

I can't get them far above my hips.

I'm probably around 4" off around the waist.

Still, they look good hanging on the wardrobe door. Smile

Wow, Lou, that's FANTASTIC!

Well done!

I am finding it easier now that I am out of some of my bad habits.

Breakfast:
Stewed rhubarb (very little added sugar)
Spoon of Greek yog.

Lunch:
1 slice of wholemeal toast (no butter)
100g cottage cheese
Big handful of watercress
1 raw carrot.

YinMnBlue · 22/05/2020 13:35

I visualise weight lost as packs of butter.
3lbs is six packs - that's a lot, stacked up!

ageingdisgracefully · 22/05/2020 13:37

Here they are......iou.

ageingdisgracefully · 22/05/2020 13:38

You'll need to open the photo to see the waist.

lou967 · 22/05/2020 13:46

@YinMnBlue yes 3lbs. It's a lot of butter. It takes 21 days for a new habit to form so I'm going to keep at it.

Afternoon all! Looks like everyone’s doing well and discovering some good finds!

Don’t think I’m going to manage any exercise today as I’m a bit knackered after the 6k walk yesterday but have only had a yoghurt and minestrone soup today so hopefully will be in for a low cal day!

MissScuito · 22/05/2020 16:58

I hope it's okay that I'm joining, I've been watching the thread since it started but only just worked up the nerve to comment! I'm hoping to loose about 10kgs (22 lbs) by Christmas? I don't know if that's too optimistic though

lovinglavidaloca · 22/05/2020 18:09

Monday will be 7 weeks I’ve been at this and I’ve only lost 4 bloody pounds! 1300 calories a day (sometimes a tiny bit over or under) but it averages out over the week and I exercise every day whether it’s a walk or HIIT or both - sometimes a run instead of HIIT.

I weigh everything and track everything on Nutracheck. My weekly deficit is always over 6000 calories.

Fed up now!!! Can only blame it on my thyroid and hope that the medication settles it’ll start coming off but it’s depressing.

EvenPhilip · 22/05/2020 18:34

@MissScuito that's about 1lb a week ish, that should be more than doable 👍
I have ordered a rebounder, supposed to be good for the lymphatic system?

MissScuito · 22/05/2020 22:51

@EvenPhilip put like that it doesn't seem so daunting now. Due to disabilities, namely chronic fatigue and pain, the only exercise I can regularly do is my physio so I'm not burning that many calories. Generally I burn 1600 a day although that's according to Fitbit which is known to be inaccurate so I'm aiming for 8/900 calories per day which I've met for the past week so hopefully it's sustainable.

InTheNorth123 · 23/05/2020 09:51

I've weighed myself this morning (I did say Sunday would be weigh in day but I'm impatient) and I've lost two pounds this week. I honestly felt like I'd stay the same and be this size forever but I'm feeling much more motivated now!

onedream · 23/05/2020 12:25

@babysnowman Oatly barista is great for coffee tbh I am a big coffee lover and when I had to stop dairy my biggest worry was how will I ever enjoy coffee..But I have to say it's been great now I don't miss dairy at all and use oatly barista not just for my coffee but for cooking too..my lo doesn't breastfeed anymore but I am still dairy and egg free as I feel so much healthier plus the substitutes are great for both in cooking and baking

onedream · 23/05/2020 12:27

Haven't been here for few days hope everyone is good...
Lou fantastic result
Saturday is my weight check too, this week I have lost 1.7 pounds which brings me to 11.7 stone.

YinMnBlue · 23/05/2020 17:29

Great stuff, onedream!

Dinner last night;
Small cod fillet with butter bean and Swiss chard stew (Spanish recipe cooked with minimal oil)

Brunch today:
Stewed rhubarb, spoonful of yogurt
I slice of whole meal toast with mere smear of butter, and marmite.

Snack:
1 oatcake and very thin slice of cheese.

Have upped my exercise routine.

Dinner cooked by Ds tonight sounds quite calorific (Cauliflower and paneer curry, has coconut milk in it) so will go easy.

Managing hunger better.

YinMnBlue · 23/05/2020 17:30
