1200 calories a day = 28" waist Levi's 501

Hi I am starting today to eat 1200 calories a day. I'm 5'8 and currently weigh 13st. I lost 6st 2 years ago and reached 10st. Unfortunately life/work got in the way and I took my eye of the ball and regained. I did calorie counting before and it worked, so I am trying again.

I'm hoping to fit into my beloved 28 Waist Levi's 501 jeans. I treated myself to a pair, once I'd slimmed down. I want to wear them again.

I've realised how calorific my sandwich lunches are now I've started calorie counting them. When I'm at work I normally get M&S salads, but that seemed too much faff to do at home. It's easily adding another 200 calories per day though - so that's something I need to address. And swapping Diet Coke for water - I'm not buying any more Diet Coke after I finish this pack, as I'm sure it's not helping, so I just need to avoid having it in the house.

I've planned my meals for today though, and should be coming in on target - as long as I avoid snacks. But I resisted the takeaway yesterday so counting that as a victory!

@ageingdisgracefully I bet my Levi's that are brand new would have fitted the slim you. I agree that sizing is all over the place. That's why I've reverted to old school non stretch denim. That way, if I'm getting bigger my jeans will tell me. I'm going to bin all my stretchy ones once I've reached goal. The weight isn't coming back! You can do it.

Post a picture of your 501's or when they arrive. I can't wait to see them.

I've been in the garden this morning planting and weeding. It's been a lovely morning. I've enjoyed the good weather we've had. I've been very warm and I can't help but think that it's the extra weight I'm carrying that's making me sweat. It's made me more determined.

Lunch is beef stew as I have some left over from yesterday. It always tastes better the following day.

@EvenPhilip are you ok?

EvenPhilip · 20/05/2020 13:13

I've just had a bit of mackerel on a huge rocket, spinach and watercress salad.
I'm feeling very virtuous, but will undoubtedly be chewing my own arm off by late afternoon.

lou967 · 20/05/2020 13:15

@EvenPhilip don't do that :) think how good you'll feel once your at goal!

I've gone 3 days without my Danish and latte fix, no booze.
I haven't woken up looking like Cindy Crawford and I don't understand it. This level of deprivation should surely be having some effect Grin

lou967 · 20/05/2020 13:23

@EvenPhilip I've not had any cakes, biscuits or chocolate since Thursday. I should be a 28 waist now. Grin

GrinGrin
It's not fair

lou967 · 20/05/2020 13:49

@EvenPhilip it's not. But it'll be worth it in the end. I can't wait to button my Levi's.

How's everyone doing today? Hungry this afternoon but not giving in.

I just had one of those fibre one bars 😬. Will make sure to have a healthy dinner!

lou967 · 20/05/2020 16:39

@babysnowman I love them Grinbut I keep them for a treat once a week or fortnight. Plus they have an effect on some people that makes them run to the toilet!!

Doing well today! Been out a walk with the kids and will do my c25k run tonight.

Food wise I’ve had boiled eggs for breakfast (which I’m fed up with now), a plain bagel for lunch, two satsumas and a Kit Kat.

Whoever mentioned special k earlier has put me in the mood for it will need to try and get some.

lou967 · 20/05/2020 16:46

@lovinglavidaloca I mentioned special k. I had it this morning. It made me think of the adverts off the tv years ago when they did the drop a jean size in 2 weeks. 2 bowls of cereal and a meal. I'd be starving!!

lovinglavidaloca · 20/05/2020 16:53

Haha yes I remember the special k diet. I could never manage that especially when the recommended 30g serving is barely enough for a mouse.

lou967 · 20/05/2020 16:54

Portion control! Grin

I had Turkey Breast, Wholeweat pasta, salad and a boiled egg. Yogurt and fruit for pudding.

I've not snacked and I'm hoping with weigh in day on Friday, that I've lost. I'll be disappointed if I've not. But, at the same time I know I've eaten healthy! Grin

I skipped breakfast and lunch thanks to being busy at work, so I'm under my calorie goal and I've got a banging headache because I haven't drank enough.

For tea I had a load of mixed salad leave, some baby potatoes roared in 1tbsp oil and three vegan ' chicken wings' that were actually very nice! I also had a lemon cupcake from Morrison's (since I had the extra calories to treat myself I did, but probably wasn't a good idea to eat a load of sugar Blush).

I have planned tomorrow meals in MFP.

I think I am going to weigh in on Sunday as that will be a week since I officially started, even though I've been 'dieting' for the last five years! Anyone else weighing in on Sunday?

InTheNorth123 · 20/05/2020 20:04

Sorry I've just read that back and noticed all the mistakes

lou967 · 20/05/2020 20:20

@InTheNorth123 I'm weighing on Friday.

I had a doughnut today which was amazing so had my default low cal dinner which is itsu vegetable gyoza (so tasty and low cal!) They have them in all different flavours too.

I did go over by 200 today but burned off the extra cals in a long walk so MFP says net is 1200 still

lou967 · 20/05/2020 21:15

@Batqueen I'd love a doughnut. But I'm being good Shock

I always seem to get hungry at night not quite sure why? I suppose its because I used to eat crisps, sweets etc whilst watching tv. I would go through bags and bags of crisps in one night. How I have changed since this time last week. Something has clicked and I am not giving up :)

Today:
Breakfast:
I desert spoon of protein granola
1 “”. “” Of Greek yogurt
Some blueberries.

Lunch:’
I thinnish slice of wholewheat toast topped with grilled tomato, drizzle of Olive oil.
Zingy slaw
An orange

Snack: a few plain thin crackers

Dinner;
I pita bread
3 felafels
A couple of spoonfuls of hummus
A couple of spoons of stewed aubergines in Tom sauce.

1 scoop ice cream

1 small vodka and tonic light.

45 min walk.

I don’t know if I am eating little enough to lose weight, but I am eating less than I was and better than I was. No random slices of toast dripping in butter and honey just because I am bored. I will move to cutting out ice cream and crackers in due course.
