1200 calories a day = 28" waist Levi's 501

Hi I am starting today to eat 1200 calories a day. I'm 5'8 and currently weigh 13st. I lost 6st 2 years ago and reached 10st. Unfortunately life/work got in the way and I took my eye of the ball and regained. I did calorie counting before and it worked, so I am trying again.

I'm hoping to fit into my beloved 28 Waist Levi's 501 jeans. I treated myself to a pair, once I'd slimmed down. I want to wear them again.

Feeling more motivated today since I found the jeans. I can do this

Lunch was beef stew with dumplings. Home made that will last me for a few more meals.

Dinner was tuna, brown roll, salad cream, boiled egg, lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes and spring onions. I also had some coleslaw and potato salad.

OP: can I ask please whether your Levi's are men's or women's?

EvenPhilip · 19/05/2020 19:20

Just had steamed dim sum and a huge salad.

lou967 · 19/05/2020 19:24

@ageingdisgracefully the 501 vintage ones that I originally posted a picture of are men's. I was advised my friends and the people who I bought them off that they're a good fit for women too.

The other Levi's I have put pictures up are all women's.

Hi! I'm glad to see others got there motivation from not fitting in stuff too. I've managed to stick to the 1200 calories...only just on some nights.
I've found I'm better if I eat a big breakfast and then have fruit for lunch then a bigger dinner. If I don't eat in the morning then I just snack all day.
To the pp who said is anyone going to take before and after pictures, I think I'm going to, but I'll do it monthly to see how I'm getting on. I've also ordered scalesShock I'll let you know how I get on. I've taken my waist and thigh measurement too.
Other than that the only other tip I have is to keep busy during your usual snacking time. Mine was when I had a computer break, I'd normally get a biscuit, instead I've been putting a coat of paint onto doors.

onedream · 19/05/2020 20:16

You have some good looking jeans Lou

I have had today:
5 giant rice cakes for breakfast with Oatly coffee

Lunch - 2 leftover plant chef sausages with 1/2 buttered white wrap and some ketchup

Oatly coffee in the afternoon

Spinach potato curry and cauliflower coconut curry with some rice for dinner

This all comes to just under 1000 kcal so happy with today, I have managed to do Joe wicks at 9am too although I read today that apparently it's not a lot of calories burnt..I will carry on tho as I feel energised and ready for the day after the exercise

lou967 · 19/05/2020 20:20

@onedream thanks. Some friends have told me I have good taste in clothing Grin

Well done on your food today. Smile

Yikes! I've just bought myself a pair of vintage Levi 501s. Shock.

They're going to be tiny.

What have I doneShock.

lou967 · 19/05/2020 21:22

@ageingdisgracefully where from? What size?

OP posts:
lou967 · 19/05/2020 21:27

Feeling hungry again tonight. I'm not eating. I only think I need to eat. I don't need to. Not a morsel is passing my lips. I've got Levi's that need to be worn! I will slim into them!

ageingdisgracefully · 19/05/2020 21:50

Etsy. 29" waist.

They're not going to fit. They won't get up my legs, even. I haven't been in a pair of Levi's for 25 years.

They'll not have any stretch....Shock

lou967 · 19/05/2020 21:53

@ageingdisgracefully they won't have stretch as they're proper denim. What size are you now?

Hi, just wondering if anyone has done this just by fitting into clothes rather than weighing themselves? I really want to have a long term relaxed approach and weighing myself just doesn't help that.

ilovebluecheese · 19/05/2020 22:54

Well done for taking the time to diet and concentrate on you. I have just re-started My Fitness Pal which really worked for me. It helps me make better choices. Have you tried it? Happy to update on here how it is all going?

lou967 · 20/05/2020 08:01

Special k with skimmed milk for breakfast with a banana, Apple and orange juice.

How's everyone this morning. Apparently hottest day of the year so far. Remember to drink plenty of water and try and avoid the sun at peak times

OP posts:
EvenPhilip · 20/05/2020 08:41

Poached eggs on wholemeal toast this morning.
We have no garden Sad to enjoy the sun, which has definitely increased lockdown stress.

babysnowman · 20/05/2020 08:41

Morning everyone!

Ok so the new scales arrived yesterday so got on this morning...12 stone 7 3/4lb. I was around that when the last scales died and assumed I would have put on since then and be at least 13 stone. So I'm pleased I haven't gone backwards...extra motivated for today now 💪🏻

ageingdisgracefully · 20/05/2020 08:56

iou967 i can get into a stretchy 28" waist now. I'm 60 and struggling at the moment as not focussed enough.

I used to wear Levi's in a 28" waist back in.the day but I was probably at my skinniest ever. And younger, with an actual shape.

Sizes are all over the place now so if something is stretchy, I can generally squeeze myself into s small size.

I know I'm deluded Grin

babysnowman · 20/05/2020 09:00

@onedream how do you find the Oatly milk in coffee?

I've been wondering what makes me bloated and have long noticed that I am bloated after drinking cups of tea, I had no bread/rice etc yesterday but was having skimmed milk in my coffee and still started to bloat as the day went on so I'm looking to substitute it.

Batqueen · 20/05/2020 09:03

Morning!

Had a good day yesterday, this morning wasn’t so great as woke up hypo again (body still adjusting to the food intake change!) but managed to treat with breakfast yoghurt as opposed to eating aaaall the sugar!

So good so far but am now feeling awful and not particularly raring to go today.

Focusanddetermination · 20/05/2020 10:18

I haven't managed 1200 per day, but have been a lot more controlled, eaten less calories the past couple of days. Around 1500. And did a big walk. So an improvement, in the right direction. The thought of fitting into all the beautiful clothes under my bed helps Grin

hermionegrange · 20/05/2020 11:44

Morning all.

I weighed myself this morning and have lost 3lb this week so I'm delighted.

I cooked a full English for DH and DS today and didn't have any of it myself either - that 3lb has given me the motivation to push on!

Picnic in the park today- I'm taking cous cous, carrot sticks, sea food sticks and some salad.

EvenPhilip · 20/05/2020 12:09

God I'm bloody starving!!
